CANDLE HOLDER
The invention refers to a candle holder for fixing candles in a candlestick and comprising a sleeve (2) having mainly circular cross section provided in such a way that the diameter of the circular cross section is variable for a safe fixing of actual candle. The sleeve (2) comprises at least two slots (3) extending along the mantle surface (4) of said sleeve (2) from an upper end (5) of the sleeve (2) and up to a short distance from a lower end (6) of the sleeve (2) and at least two slots (7) extending along the mantle surface (4) of the sleeve (2) from said lower end (6) of the sleeve (2) and up to a short distance from said upper end (5), the first mentioned slots (3) being open upwards and the last mentioned slots (7) being open downwards.
The present invention refers to a candle holder for fixing candles in a candlestick and comprising a sleeve having mainly circular cross section provided in such a way that the diameter of the circular cross section is variable for a safe fixing of actual candle.
On the market there are today a number of different types of candle holders for fixing candles in a safe way. The drawbacks with these holders are that they are lacking a sufficient flexibility in order to fit several different sizes of candles in the most common candlesticks. Further it has shown to be difficult that with simple grips totally get loose the burn down candle from the sleeve mounted in the candlestick.
The object of the present invention is to eliminate those drawbacks existing with the technique known and provide a candle holder of the type mentioned above, which in a safe way is fixing a candle in a candlestick and besides is easy to remove from both a burn down candle and the candlestick itself. The characterizing features of the invention are set forth in the claims enclosed.
Thanks to the invention a candle holder has now been provided, which in an excellent way fulfils its purpose at the same time as it is both simple and cheap to manufacture. The candleholder according to the invention is specially useable where a great stabilization is required of candles and specially those candles, which have a length more than the usual and in those cases candlesticks of wood are used. The candle holder has a great flexibility and is furthermore manufactured by a fire-resistant material, which means that the candle goes out when it has burnt down without setting fire to eventual candle-rings or eventual candlesticks of wood. After having blown out a candle or after that a candle nearly has burnt down it is further easy to bring the remaining stearin up from the candle holder after the removal of the sleeve from the candlestick.
The invention is described closer below by aid of some preferable embodiment examples with reference to the drawings enclosed, in which
As can be seen from the figures the candle holder according to the invention functions so that during use the candle holder is placed into a candlestick, whereupon a candle is pressed down into the same at the same time as that sleeve, which constitutes the candle holder itself, varies its circular cross section and is automatically adapted to the actual candlestick and wedges up the candle in the sleeve which in turn is wedged up into the candle holder of the candlestick. Thus, the candle holder 1 comprises a sleeve 2 having mainly a circular cross section and functions so that the diameter of the circular cross section can be varied by that the sleeve 2 comprises at least two slots 3 extending along the mantle surface 4 of said sleeve 2 from an upper end 5 of the sleeve 2 and up to a short distance from a lower end 6 of the sleeve 2 and at least two slots 7 extending along the mantle surface 4 of the sleeve 2 from said lower end 6 of the sleeve 2 and up to a short distance from said upper end 5, the first mentioned slots 3 being open upwards and the last mentioned slots 7 being open downwards.
According to the embodiment example illustrated in
According to the embodiment example illustrated in
The sleeve 2 comprises in the area of its upper end 5 and mainly right in front of the three slots 7′ at least one radially protruding flange 12, so that the candle holder 1 would be able to be pressed downwards into and be removed from a candlestick, whereby according to the first embodiment example of the invention according to
The sleeve 2 of the candle holder 1 is preferably conically formed having its larger diameter situated in the area of the upper end 5 of the sleeve 2 and with its smaller diameter situated in the area of the lower end 6 of the sleeve 2 and from a fire-resistant point of view the sleeve 2 is manufactured of a fire-proof silicone/plastic material which preferably has a mantle thickness of about 1-6 mm.
