Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

(a) Technical Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a storage device and more particularly, to a wall mount storage device specifically designed for hanging on a vertical wall.

(b) Description of the Prior Art

Due to limited house space, people may hang a hanging cabinet on the back side of the door panel of the door of the kitchen or a wall inside a room or a collapsible hanging closet organizer on a hanging rod in a wardrobe for keeping small items. A hanging cabinet or collapsible closet organizer has a body shell formed of plastic sheet material or canvass and arranged around the top, bottom, left and right sides, and a plurality of partition members arranged in the body shell at different elevations to divide the holding space of the body shell into a plurality of front-open compartments for keeping things. A top opening may be formed in the top side of the body shell for the mounting of a hanger for hanging on a hanging rod inside a wardrobe or at a wall. Hook and loop materials may be used to secure the hanging cabinet or collapsible closet organizer to a hanging rod inside a wardrobe or at a wall.

However, a hanging cabinet or collapsible closet organizer of the aforesaid conventional design can simply placed on the floor or hung on a hanging rod in a wardrobe. It cannot be directly hung on a vertical wall. Further, because a hanging cabinet or collapsible closet organizer of the aforesaid conventional design has the body shell formed of plastic sheet material or canvass and uses metal tubes to constitute a frame structure for supporting the body shell in shape, the assembly procedure is complicated. When a hanging cabinet or collapsible closet organizer of the aforesaid conventional design is placed on the floor, it is difficult to move the hanging cabinet or collapsible closet organizer during cleaning of the floor.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The primary purpose of the present invention is to provide a wall-mount storage device, which is mountable on a vertical wall, eliminating the drawback of a conventional collapsible hanging wardrobe or closet organizer that can only be placed on the floor or hung on a hanging rod in a wardrobe.

To achieve this and other objects of the present invention, a wall-mount storage device comprises a plurality of substantially π-shaped wall plates for fixation to a vertical wall at selected locations, a rack for mounting on a vertical wall, the rack having a plurality of hook bars fixedly located on the back side thereof for hanging on the π-shaped wall plates, and a storage unit for hanging on the rack for keeping things.

Further, the storage unit can be a collapsible wardrobe having an insertion slot horizontally located on the rear side near the top panel thereof for receiving the rack for enabling the top panel to be supported on the top side of the rack to hang the storage unit on said rack.

Further, the rack can be made having multiple rows of hanging holes, and the storage unit can be a collapsible organizer having a plurality of hanging straps insertable through the hanging holes for fastening the storage unit to the rack

Further, each hanging strap of the collapsible organizer has hook materials and loop materials disposed at two opposite sides at different locations in such a manner that the hook materials and the loop materials are fastenable together to secure the respective hanging strap to one hanging hole of the rack.

The foregoing object and summary provide only a brief introduction to the present invention. To fully appreciate these and other objects of the present invention as well as the invention itself, all of which will become apparent to those skilled in the art, the following detailed description of the invention and the claims should be read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. Throughout the specification and drawings identical reference numerals refer to identical or similar parts.

Many other advantages and features of the present invention will become manifest to those versed in the art upon making reference to the detailed description and the accompanying sheets of drawings in which a preferred structural embodiment incorporating the principles of the present invention is shown by way of illustrative example.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

The following descriptions are of exemplary embodiments only, and are not intended to limit the scope, applicability or configuration of the invention in any way. Rather, the following description provides a convenient illustration for implementing exemplary embodiments of the invention. Various changes to the described embodiments may be made in the function and arrangement of the elements described without departing from the scope of the invention as set forth in the appended claims.

Referring to FIG. 2, a wall-mount storage device in accordance with a first embodiment of the present invention is shown comprising rack 1 for fixation to a wall and a storage unit directly hung on the rack 1. The storage unit according to this first embodiment is a hanging wardrobe 2.

Referring to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 again, the rack 1 is a flat frame formed of rod members, having two parallel mounting bars 11 perpendicularly downwardly extended from two distal ends of the rear side thereof, a reinforcing bar 12 connected between the two parallel mounting bars 11, and at least one hanging bar 13 suspended from the bottom side thereof for hanging things. Further, two hook bars 14 are respectively affixed to the parallel mounting bars 11 by screws. Each hook bar 14 has a plurality of downwardly curved hooked portions 141. Further, substantially π-shaped wall plates 15 are affixed to a wall 3 at selected locations for the hanging of the hooked portions 141 of the hook bars 14 to support the rack 1 on the wall 3 in a horizontal position perpendicular to the wall 3 (see FIG. 2).

The storage unit shown in FIG. 2 is a hanging wardrobe 2 of which the housing is made of plastics or canvass. The handing wardrobe 2 has an insertion slot 21 horizontally located on the rear side near the top. After fixation of the rack 1 to the wall 3, the wardrobe 2 is hung on the rack 1 by means of coupling the insertion slot 21 to the rack 1 to have the top panel of the wardrobe 2 be supported on the rack 1 (see FIG. 3). After hanging of the wardrobe 2 on the rack 1, the top panel of the wardrobe that is supported on the rack 1 can be used to hold things.

FIG. 4 shows a wall-mount storage device in accordance with a second embodiment of the present invention. Similar to the aforesaid first embodiment, the wall-mount storage device in accordance with this second embodiment is comprised of a rack 1 for fixation to a wall and a storage unit directly hung on the rack 1. According to this embodiment, the storage unit shown is a collapsible hanging organizer 4. The rack 1 according to this second embodiment has multiple rows of through holes 16, for example, three rows of hanging holes 16 respectively arranged on the left and right sides and on the middle between the left side and the right side. The collapsible hanging organizer 4 comprises a plurality of hanging straps 41 arranged at the top side corresponding to the hanging holes 16. Each hanging strap 41 has hook materials 411 and loop materials 4112 arranged at two opposite sides at different locations. After insertion of the hanging straps 41 through the hanging holes 16, the respective hook materials 411 are respectively fastened to the respective loop materials 4112 to secure the respective hanging straps 41 to the respective hanging holes 16, and therefore the collapsible hanging organizer 4 is secured to the rack 1 at the bottom side, as shown in FIG. 5.

It will be understood that each of the elements described above, or two or more together may also find a useful application in other types of methods differing from the type described above.

While certain novel features of this invention have been shown and described and are pointed out in the annexed claim, it is not intended to be limited to the details above, since it will be understood that various omissions, modifications, substitutions and changes in the forms and details of the device illustrated and in its operation can be made by those skilled in the art without departing in any way from the spirit of the present invention.
