Baby High Chair
A high chair includes a front support frame (31), a rear support frame (32) pivotally connected with the front support frame, an upper support frame (12) having a first end pivotally connected with the front support frame, and at least one locking device (2) mounted on a second end of the upper support frame and detachably locked onto the rear support frame to releasably lock the upper support frame on the rear support frame. Thus, the high chair can be folded completely when not in use so as to largely decrease the space of storage and transportation. In addition, the high chair is folded or expanded easily and quickly, thereby facilitating the user folding or expanding the high chair.
1. Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a high chair and, more particularly, to a baby high chair for dining.
2. Description of the Related Art
A conventional baby high chair for dining comprises a support stand, a seat mounted on the support stand, a backrest mounted on a side of the seat, and a placement table pivotally mounted on the backrest and located above the seat. The placement table is provided with a recess to allow passage of a baby. When in use, the placement table is pivoted upward to space from the seat. After the baby is seated on the seat, the placement table is pivoted downward until the placement table is disposed at a horizontal state. At this time, the recess of the placement table allows passage of the baby. Thus, food can be placed on the placement table for the baby to dine. However, the conventional baby high chair has a fixed structure and cannot be folded any more so that the conventional baby high chair occupies a larger space of storage when not in use.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONIn accordance with the present invention, there is provided a high chair, comprising a front support frame, a rear support frame pivotally connected with the front support frame, an upper support frame having a first end pivotally connected with the front support frame, and at least one locking device mounted on a second end of the upper support frame and detachably locked onto the rear support frame to releasably lock the upper support frame on the rear support frame.
The locking device includes a mounting block secured on the second end of the upper support frame and having a first end provided with a mounting recess detachably mounted on the rear support frame, a stop piece mounted on a second end of the mounting block, a control knob movably mounted on the mounting block, a locking bolt secured on the control knob and movable to press the rear support frame so as to releasably lock the mounting block on the rear support frame, and an elastic member biased between the stop piece and the control knob to push the control knob and the locking bolt toward the rear support frame.
The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a high chair that is folded when not in use.
According to another objective of the present invention, after the upper support frame is removed from the upper portion of the rear support frame, the rear support frame is pivoted toward the front support frame, the upper support frame is pivoted toward the front support frame, and the seat frame is pivoted toward the front support frame so as to fold the high chair so that the high chair can be folded completely when not in use so as to largely decrease the space of storage and transportation.
According to a further objective of the present invention, the user only needs to pull or release the pull handle of the control knob so as to fold or expand the high chair so that the high chair is folded or expanded easily and quickly, thereby facilitating the user folding or expanding the high chair.

The rear support frame 32 has a mediate portion pivotally connected with a mediate portion of the front support frame 31. The rear support frame 32 has an upper portion provided with at least one locking hole 321.
The upper support frame 12 is located above the seat frame 33. The first end of the upper support frame 12 is pivotally connected with an upper portion of the front support frame 31. The placement member 11 is located above the upper support frame 12. The upper support frame 12 has a bottom provided with a socket 120.
The seat frame 33 has a first end pivotally connected with the front support frame 31 and a second end provided with a footrest 331.
The locking device 2 includes a mounting block 21 secured on the second end of the upper support frame 12 and having a first end provided with a mounting recess 211 detachably mounted on the rear support frame 32, a stop piece 24 mounted on a second end of the mounting block 21, a control knob 22 movably mounted on the mounting block 21, a locking bolt 222 secured on the control knob 22 and movable to press the rear support frame 32 so as to releasably lock the mounting block 21 on the rear support frame 32, and an elastic member 23 biased between the stop piece 24 and the control knob 22 to push the control knob 22 and the locking bolt 222 toward the rear support frame 32.
The mounting block 21 of the locking device 2 has an inner portion provided with a slideway 215. The slideway 215 of the mounting block 21 is located between the stop piece 24 and the mounting recess 211. The slideway 215 of the mounting block 21 has a sidewall provided with a through hole 216 connected to the mounting recess 211. The first end of the mounting block 21 has a top provided with a plug 212 inserted into the socket 120 of the upper support frame 12 and a receiving space 217 to receive the socket 120 of the upper support frame 12. The first end of the mounting block 21 has a bottom formed with the mounting recess 211. The second end of the mounting block 21 has a top provided with a fixing hole 213.
The locking bolt 222 of the locking device 2 is secured on a first side of the control knob 22 to move in concert with the control knob 22. The locking bolt 222 of the locking device 2 is movable in the slideway 215 of the mounting block 21. The locking bolt 222 of the locking device 2 has a first end secured on the first side of the control knob 22 and a second end extending through the through hole 216 into the mounting recess 211 of the mounting block 21. The locking bolt 222 of the locking device 2 is inserted into and detachably locked in the locking hole 321 of the rear support frame 32.
The control knob 22 of the locking device 2 is slidable in the slideway 215 of the mounting block 21. The control knob 22 of the locking device 2 has a second side provided with a receiving chamber 223. The control knob 22 of the locking device 2 has a bottom provided with an upright pull handle 224 protruding outwardly the mounting block 21 to facilitate a user pushing the control knob 22. The control knob 22 of the locking device 2 has a face provided with a mounting groove 221 for mounting the locking bolt 222.
The elastic member 23 of the locking device 2 is mounted in the receiving chamber 223 of the control knob 22 and is biased between the stop piece 24 and the second side of the control knob 22.
The stop piece 24 of the locking device 2 is received in the slideway 215 of the mounting block 21. The stop piece 24 of the locking device 2 has a top provided with a screw bore 241. The stop piece 24 of the locking device 2 is secured on the mounting block 21 by a locking screw 214. The locking screw 214 extends through the fixing hole 213 of the mounting block 21 and is screwed into the screw bore 241 of the stop piece 24 to fix the stop piece 24 to the mounting block 21.

Accordingly, after the upper support frame 12 is removed from the upper portion of the rear support frame 32, the rear support frame 32 is pivoted toward the front support frame 31, the upper support frame 12 is pivoted toward the front support frame 31, and the seat frame 33 is pivoted toward the front support frame 31 so as to fold the high chair so that the high chair can be folded completely when not in use so as to largely decrease the space of storage and transportation. In addition, the user only needs to pull or release the pull handle 224 of the control knob 22 so as to fold or expand the high chair so that the high chair is folded or expanded easily and quickly, thereby facilitating the user folding or expanding the high chair.
Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment(s) as mentioned above, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is, therefore, contemplated that the appended claim or claims will cover such modifications and variations that fall within the true scope of the invention.
Claims
1. A high chair, comprising:
- a front support frame (31);
- a rear support frame (32) pivotally connected with the front support frame;
- an upper support frame (12) having a first end pivotally connected with the front support frame;
- at least one locking device (2) mounted on a second end of the upper support frame and detachably locked onto the rear support frame to releasably lock the upper support frame on the rear support frame.
2. The high chair of claim 1, wherein the locking device includes:
- a mounting block (21) secured on the second end of the upper support frame and having a first end provided with a mounting recess (211) detachably mounted on the rear support frame;
- a stop piece (24) mounted on a second end of the mounting block;
- a control knob (22) movably mounted on the mounting block;
- a locking bolt (222) secured on the control knob and movable to press the rear support frame so as to releasably lock the mounting block on the rear support frame;
- an elastic member (23) biased between the stop piece and the control knob to push the control knob and the locking bolt toward the rear support frame.
3. The high chair of claim 2, wherein
- the mounting block of the locking device has an inner portion provided with a slideway (215);
- the control knob of the locking device is slidable in the slideway of the mounting block.
4. The high chair of claim 2, wherein
- the rear support frame has an upper portion provided with at least one locking hole (321);
- the locking bolt of the locking device is inserted into and detachably locked in the locking hole of the rear support frame.
5. The high chair of claim 2, wherein
- the locking bolt of the locking device is secured on a first side of the control knob to move in concert with the control knob;
- the control knob of the locking device has a second side provided with a receiving chamber (223);
- the elastic member of the locking device is mounted in the receiving chamber of the control knob.
6. The high chair of claim 2, wherein the control knob of the locking device has a face provided with a mounting groove (221) for mounting the locking bolt.
7. The high chair of claim 2, wherein the stop piece of the locking device is secured on the mounting block by a locking screw (214).
8. The high chair of claim 7, wherein
- the second end of the mounting block has a top provided with a fixing hole (213);
- the stop piece of the locking device has a top provided with a screw bore (241);
- the locking screw extends through the fixing hole of the mounting block and is screwed into the screw bore of the stop piece to fix the stop piece to the mounting block.
9. The high chair of claim 2, wherein
- the upper support frame has a bottom provided with a socket (120);
- the first end of the mounting block has a top provided with a plug (212) inserted into the socket of the upper support frame and a receiving space (217) to receive the socket of the upper support frame.
10. The high chair of claim 3, wherein the slideway of the mounting block is located between the stop piece and the mounting recess.
11. The high chair of claim 5, wherein
- the slideway of the mounting block has a sidewall provided with a through hole connected to the mounting recess;
- the locking bolt of the locking device has a first end secured on the first side of the control knob and a second end extending through the through hole into the mounting recess of the mounting block.
12. The high chair of claim 2, wherein the control knob of the locking device has a bottom provided with an upright pull handle protruding outwardly the mounting block to facilitate a user pushing the control knob.
13. The high chair of claim 3, wherein the locking bolt of the locking device is movable in the slideway of the mounting block.
14. The high chair of claim 5, wherein the elastic member of the locking device is biased between the stop piece and the second side of the control knob.
15. The high chair of claim 3, wherein the stop piece of the locking device is received in the slideway of the mounting block.
16. The high chair of claim 2, wherein the first end of the mounting block has a bottom formed with the mounting recess.
17. The high chair of claim 2, further comprising:
- a seat frame pivotally connected with the front support frame.
18. The high chair of claim 17, wherein the seat frame has a first end pivotally connected with the front support frame and a second end provided with a footrest.
19. The high chair of claim 1, further comprising:
- a placement member mounted on and located above the upper support frame.
20. The high chair of claim 17, wherein
- the rear support frame has a mediate portion pivotally connected with a mediate portion of the front support frame;
- the upper support frame is located above the seat frame;
- the first end of the upper support frame is pivotally connected with an upper portion of the front support frame.
