Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a box assembly, and more particularly to a box assembly which is both easy to transport and reduces transportation costs.

2. Description of the Related Art

Currently, a prior art box structure 20, as shown in FIG. 6, is made by way of a plastic injection process or with a welding process using metallic materials; therefore, the box structure 20 has a fixed size, which is inconvenient for transportation purposes and increases transportation costs.

Therefore, it is desirable to provide a box assembly to mitigate and/or obviate the aforementioned problems.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

An objective of the present invention is to provide a box assembly.

In order to achieve the above-mentioned objective, an embodiment box assembly comprises a bottom board respectively connected to a pair of first side boards and a pair of second side boards. The bottom board has a foldable slot at its four edges, and each of two facing edges are respectively connected to the pair of first side boards and the pair of second side boards. The pair of first side boards respectively have an assembling end at its two outer sides, and the inner edge of the assembling end has a plurality of engaging protrusions. The pair of second side boards respectively have an engaging end at its two outer sides; the engaging end has an engaging slot, and the inner edge of the engaging end has a plurality of assembling apertures connecting to the engaging slot. The assembling end and the engaging end of the first side boards and the second side boards can be alternated, such that the first side boards respectively have the engaging end, and the second side boards respectively have the assembling end. In order to assemble the box, first the two identical first side boards are lifted up until they are vertical to the bottom board as a result of the foldable slots between the bottom board and the first side boards. Then, the two identical second side boards are lifted up for assembly with the first side boards. The engaging slots on the engaging ends at two outer sides of a second side board engage with the assembling ends of the pair of first side boards, such that the engaging protrusions on the assembling ends engage with the assembling apertures of the engaging ends. Similarly, another second side board can also be assembled by way of the above-mentioned steps to finish the assembly process for the entire box.

With the above-mentioned embodiments, the following benefits are obtained: for the box assembly, the box can be disassembled into a flat board, which is easy to transport and reduces transportation costs.

Other objects, advantages, and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Please refer to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2. A box assembly 10 comprises a bottom board 11 respectively connected to a pair of first side boards 12 and a pair of second side boards 13. The bottom board 11 has a foldable slot 111 along its four edges, and each of two facing edges are respectively connected to the pair of first side boards 12 and the pair of second side boards 13. Each of the first side boards 12 has a respective assembling end 121 at its two outer sides, and the interior edge of each assembling end 121 has a plurality of engaging protrusions 122. Each of the second side boards 13 has a respective engaging end 131 at its two outer sides, the engaging ends 131 each having an engaging slot 132, and the interior edges of the engaging ends 131 have a plurality of assembling apertures 133 connecting to the engaging slot 132. The assembling ends 121 and the engaging ends 131 of the first side boards 12 and the second side boards 13 may be alternated, such that the first side boards 12 respectively have the engaging ends 131, while the second side boards 13 respectively have the assembling ends 121.

For assembly details, please refer to FIGS. 3, 4 and 5. In order to assemble the box 10, first the two identical first side boards 12 may be lifted up, as a result of the foldable slots 111 between the bottom board 11 and the first side boards 12, until the first side boards 12 are vertical to the bottom board 11. Then, the two identical second side boards 13 are lifted up to assemble with the first side boards 12. The engaging slots 132 on the engaging ends 131 along the two outer sides of a second side board 13 engage with the assembling ends of the pair of first side boards 12, such that the engaging protrusions 122 on an assembling end 121 engage with the assembling apertures 133 of an engaging end 131. Similarly, the other second side board 13 can also be assembled by the above-mentioned steps to finish the assembly of the entire box 10.

With the above-mentioned embodiments, the following benefits can be obtained: for the box assembly, the box 10 can be disassembled to form a flat board, which is easy to transport and reduces transportation costs.

Although the present invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
