ARM REST FOR MANICURES
The armrest for manicures is a device supporting the arm and hand during a manicure procedure and includes an elongate container having a profile configured as an isosceles triangle. The container is provided with a removable cap at one end. When filled with warm water, the container will function as an armrest for a person receiving a manicure and also provide warmth to the supported hand and arm.
This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Patent Application Ser. No. 61/282,056, filed Dec. 8, 2009.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION1. Field of the Invention
The present invention generally relates to support devices, and more particularly to an armrest that provides a device for supporting the hands and arms of a person receiving a manicure.
2. Description of the Related Art
A top-notch manicure is better performed if both the recipient of the manicure and the manicure technician are comfortable. Comfort is difficult to achieve, however, if the recipient's hands and arms are not properly supported and the technician must bend over and provide some support for the recipient's hand and arm in order to perform the manicure functions. These positions cause strain in the wrists, back, neck, elbows, etc. of the technician and cause tiring and strain in the arms and shoulders of the recipient. Furthermore, many nail products (especially acrylics) crystallize and are prone to cracking if not applied at a warm temperature, which warm temperature does not occur if the hand is exposed only to ambient room temperatures. Heretofore, manicure technicians have utilized various and sundry related art support devices to alleviate the discomfort of the above described scenario. However, none of the various related art devices have proven effective. Thus, an armrest for manicures solving the aforementioned problems is desired.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThe armrest for manicures is an elongate container having a profile configured as an isosceles triangle. The container is provided with a removable cap at one end. When filled with warm water, the container will function as an armrest for a person receiving a manicure and also provide warmth to the supported hand and arm.
Accordingly, the invention presents a simplistic device that alleviates the strain on both the recipient and the technician during a manicure procedure. Because of its configuration, the device may be employed at two respective heights, thereby assuring an optimum ergonomic working height for the manicure procedures. The invention provides for improved elements thereof in an arrangement for the purposes described that are inexpensive, dependable and fully effective in accomplishing their intended purposes.
These and other features of the present invention will become readily apparent upon further review of the following specification and drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTAttention is directed to
In use, the device is filled with warm water via spout 18 and cap 22 is disposed to close the spout. The recipient R of the manicure rests her (or his) arm and hand on the device 10 in a comfortable position whereupon the technician T comfortably proceeds with the manicure procedures. The container can be emptied as the water cools and replaced with warmer water.
It is to be understood that the present invention is not limited to the embodiment described above, but encompasses any and all embodiments within the scope of the following claims.
