Solar fence

A solar fence with a plurality of fence panels, wherein one or more of the fence panels includes one or more solar panels inside the wall of the fence panels. The top or sides of the fence panels include a plurality of optical lenses to receive and collect sun rays. Fiber optic lines are connected to the optical lenses and to the solar panels to transmit the solar rays collected by the optical lenses to the solar panels for storage. Electric lines are connected to the solar panels and to a meter for measuring the amount of electric energy collected and produced by the solar fence.

Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention is directed to make solar panels more functional and aesthetically pleasing by placing them inside the walls of fencing. The sunlight is supplied to these internal solar panels by fiber optics.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Many changes have been made to make solar panels more appealing to the look of them. The traditional solar panel remains unsightly, and the installation of a series of solar panels is obtrusive to the surrounding environment. For solar energy to become more accepted the unsightliness of solar panels must be addressed.

OBJECTS OF THE PRESENT INVENTION

An object of this invention is to have solar panels function in a less conspicuous manner, in turn making them more acceptable. This invention achieves its primary goal to make solar panels more desirable by incorporating them inside the walls of fencing to make them invisible and out of sight.

An object of the present invention is to provide a more pleasing design to solar panels by embedding them within the side walls of fencing.

Another object of the present invention is to protect the solar panels from the elements of rain, snow, hail, condensation and wind that can cause damage to the solar panels.

Another object of this invention is to provide a safer environment for these solar panels built into the side walls of the fencing by deterring theft and vandalism (breakage) that has become common with solar panel installations.

Another object of the present invention is also an economic advantage as the energy produced by the solar panels within the fencing will in time pay for the complete fence and installation through its power generation value.

Another object of this invention is to provide an environmental advantage, wherein the electric power produced, by these panels within the solar fence reduces the carbon footprint associated with current means of electric power production.

Another object of this invention is to utilize fiber optics for transferring light through the solar panels embedded in the fence, allowing the production of green electric energy. The invention creates a fence to produce electrical energy while also beautifying and safeguarding property. The present invention addresses many pf the problems of current standalone solar panels.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

A solar fence with a plurality of fence panels, wherein one or more of the fence panels includes one or more solar panels inside the wall of the fence panels. The top or sides of the fence panels include a plurality of optical lenses to receive and collect sun rays. Fiber optic lines are connected to the optical lenses and to the solar panels to transmit the solar rays collected by the optical lenses to the solar panels for storage. Electric lines are connected to the solar panels and to a meter for measuring the amount of electric energy collected and produced by the solar fence.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

A solar fence 10 with a plurality of fence panels 20 is provided, wherein one or more of the fence panels 20 includes one or more solar panels 30 inside the walls 12 and 14 of the fence panels 20. The top 22 or sides 24 of the fence panels 20 include a plurality of optical lenses 40 to receive and collect sun rays. Fiber optic lines 50 are connected to the optical lenses 40 and to the solar panels 30 to transmit the solar rays collected by the optical lenses 40 to the solar panels 30 for storage. Electric lines 60 are connected to the solar panels 30 and to a meter 70 for measuring the amount of electric energy collected and produced by the solar fence 10.

On addition, additional optical lenses 40 can be placed at a remote location, not on the fence, such as on the roof of an adjacent structure, to collect additional sun rays, and send them to the solar panels 30 in the fence panels 20.

ADVANTAGES OF THE PRESENT INVENTION

An advantage of this invention is to have solar panels function in a less conspicuous manner, in turn making them more acceptable. This invention achieves its primary goal to make solar panels more desirable by incorporating them inside the walls of fencing to make them invisible and out of sight.

An advantage of the present invention is to provide a more pleasing design to solar panels by embedding them within the side walls of fencing.

Another advantage of the present invention is to protect the solar panels from the elements of rain, snow, hail, condensation and wind that can cause damage to the solar panels.

Another advantage of this invention is to provide a safer environment for these solar panels built into the side walls of the fencing by deterring theft and vandalism (breakage) that has become common with solar panel installations.

Another advantage of the present invention is also an economic advantage as the energy produced by the solar panels within the fencing will in time pay for the complete fence and installation through its power generation value.

Another advantage of this invention is to provide an environmental advantage, wherein the electric power produced, by these panels within the solar fence reduces the carbon footprint associated with current means of electric power production.

A latitude of modification, change and substitution is intended in the foregoing disclosure, and in some instances, some features of the invention will be employed without a corresponding use of other features. Accordingly, it is appropriate that the appended claims be construed broadly and in a manner consistent with the spirit and scope of the invention herein.

Claims

1) A solar fence, comprising:

a) a plurality of fence panels, wherein one or more of the fence panels include one or more solar panels inside the wall of the fence panels;
b) the top or sides of the fence panels include a plurality of optical lenses to receive and collect sun rays;
c) fiber optic lines are connected to the optical lenses and to the solar panels to transmit the solar rays collected by the optical lenses to said solar panels for storage; and
d) electric lines are connected to the solar panels and to a meter for measuring the amount of electric energy collected and produced by said solar fence.
