BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of Invention

The present invention relates to an infant swing set that provides twin seating for two infants to enjoy.

2. Description of Related Art

Infants and toddlers require and receive specifically designed furniture, seats and play environments due to their young development and concern for their overall wellbeing. Cribs, bassinets and cradles for sleeping and lounging purposes have all been designed specifically for infants. Further infants have specially designed car seats and carriages for transportation purposes. Playpens have been developed and designed to contain an infant but allow room for infants to play and romp in a controlled environment. Yet another device designed for infants includes the conventional swing set.

A swing set for infants usually includes a seat mounted upon a swinging pendulum where the pendulum is mounted on a frame or attached to a fixed device. The seat of a swing set usually includes a confining strap belt or bar that ensures that the infant remains seated while in the swing set. Swing sets may be motorized, hand cranked or manually pushed in order to create the swinging movement for the infant. Many times a swing set provides a means to occupy the infant while adult may partake in other activities and ensures that the infant remains safely confined. The swinging motion tends to tantalize the infant's senses and sometimes appeases them to avoid adult intervention. Swing sets have also been used to lullaby an infant to sleep as movement has been associated as a means to lull an infant into a state of drowsiness followed by sleep.

Most swing sets are designed where a single infant is sits in a single seat of the swing set. Although a single seat swing set is effective for a single child, if a parent is lucky enough to have twins the parent would be required to acquire two swing sets, one for each child. Although safety is always an issue with respect to infant devices and paraphernalia, it would be advantageous to have a twin swing set that is safe, secure and provides a means to appease two infants placed within the twin swing set.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a infant swing set providing a swinging motion for at least one infant comprising: a dual seat assembly, where said dual seat assembly is mounted between a first swinging pendulum and a second swinging pendulum; a first hub assembly, where the first hub assembly supports the first swinging pendulum and a second hub assembly, where the second hub assembly supports the second swinging pendulum; a first curved vertical post, extending from the first hub assembly and a second curved vertical post extending from the second hub assembly; a first support bracket, where said first support bracket supports the first curved vertical post; and a second support bracket, where said second support bracket supports the second curved vertical post. The infant swing set may further include a base frame, where said base frame is substantially rectangular and base frame receives said first support bracket at one corner of the frame and the second support bracket at another corner of the frame.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 depicts a twin swing set according to the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The present invention relates to a twin swing set for infants. The twin swing set according to the present invention provides dual seating in a swing for infants. The twin swing set according to the present invention enables a set of twins or two infants to be placed into a swing set and enjoy the movement thereof. The twin swing set according to the present invention is capable of movement through the use of a variable speed motor and includes audio features to provide music that may be played while the swing is in operation.

A twin swing set 100 is depicted in FIG. 1. The twin swing set 100 includes two seats 32a, 32b. The twin seats 32a, 32b provide a means to place and secure infants into the swing set while in operation. The seats 32a, 32b include a securing means to secure the infants into the seats and ensure that the infants remain safe during the operation of the twin swing set 100. The dual seats 32a, 32b are mounted upon pendulums 23a, 23b. Pendulums 23a, 23b are attached to support hubs 25, 28. The support hubs 25, 28 are supported by vertical support posts 24a, 24b. The pendulums 23a, 23b swing about the support hubs 25, 28 in a conventional manner and are controlled by a swing motor within the support hub 25. Support hub 25 also includes control buttons 26 which enable the user to control speed and height of swing of the twin swing set 100.

Vertical support posts 24a, 24b extend from base corner brackets 22a, 22b. The entire twin swing set assembly 100 is placed upon a base frame 20 that is substantially rectangular. The vertical support posts 24a, 24b are not completely vertical and the posts 24a, 24b curve as they extend from the base corner brackets 22a, 22b. The base frame 20 may further include support corner support brackets for the forward corners of the base frame 20. The base frame 20 may be manufactured of steel, aluminum, metal alloy or any other durable metal. Although the frame 20 is shown as substantially rectangular, other shapes and formations may be implemented in other exemplary embodiments not specifically shown.

A battery may power the motor that operates the twin swing set 100, where the battery may be rechargeable in one exemplary embodiment. The control buttons 26 are positioned on the support hub 25 so that the buttons 26 are out of the reach of infants occupying the swing set 100. In addition to control buttons 26 for speed, an audio player/speaker 27 is also provided for twin swing set 100. The audio player/speaker 27 provides a means to play music or other audio sounds for the infants within the swing set 100.
