Folding trash can

A folding trash can is disclosed. Comprised of seven plastic panels, six metal track hinges, and seventy-two self-tapping stainless steel flange-head screws used for securely holding waste. The folding trash can may be fabricated in a variety of sizes, colors or other decor that is weather resistant, durable and economical to manufacture, thereby providing a compact folding trash can to keep your environment clean. A folding trash can comes assembled and ready for use.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

This invention related a folding trash can.

Trash cans require considerable space to store.

Folding trash cans of the type contemplated by this invention will fold flat when not in use. Thus they will be easy to store, especially in institutional settings, and convenient to transport such as for traveling and camping.

Applicant knows of no other patents granted to folding trash cans.

OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION

Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide a folding trash can which reduces the need for and expense of maintaining storage space.

It is a further object of the present invention to provide a folding trash can manufactured from materials which are non-corrosive.

It is a still further object of the present invention to provide a folding trash can.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a weather-resistant folding trash can.

It is still another object of the present invention to provide a folding trash can of various sizes.

It is still another object of the present invention to provide a folding trash can in various colors.

Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a folding trash can for commercial and residential use.

A further object of the present invention is to provide a folding trash can that is ready to use.

A still further object of the present invention is to provide a folding trash can with various designs on the surface such as scenic landscapes or pictures.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Those familiar in the art will readily see and understand the simplicity of the present invention, from the schedule seven plastic panels, six metal track hinges, and seventy-two self-tapping stainless steel flange-head screws that comprise the folding trash can. Therefore, it is understood that the folding trash can could be modified to accommodate any size. The folding trash can itself is manufactured in various sizes to accommodate commercial and residential use. It could be custom fabricated easily to accommodate almost any need. For the purpose of identifying the different parts of the present invention, please refer to the “Component List” page included in this application.

Referring to the drawing in FIG. 1, illustrates a schedule seven plastic panels, six metal track hinges, and seventy-two self-tapping stainless steel flange-head screws assembled to make a folding trash can in accordance with the present invention, which is designed to hold trash.

For the purpose of clarity and explanation, the following description and explanation of a folding trash can will be for a folding trash can that minimizes the need for storage space, approximately fourteen inches by sixteen inches by ten inches and one-half inch thick. Drawing FIG. 1, in order to build and assemble a folding trash can as illustrated, the following components will be used:

Schedule seven plastic panels, six metal track hinges, and seventy-two self-tapping stainless steel flange-head screws;

(2) schedule left-side plastic panels approximately five inches by sixteen inches and one-half inch thick shown with a one-quarter inch cutout one-half inch from the bottom, FIG. 2;

(2) schedule right-side plastic panels approximately five inches by sixteen inches and one-half inch thick shown with a one-quarter inch cutout one-half inch from the bottom, FIG. 3;

(1) schedule back plastic panel approximately fourteen inches by sixteen inches and one-half inch thick with a one-quarter inch cutout one-half inch from the bottom, FIG. 4;

(1) schedule front plastic panel approximately fourteen inches by sixteen inches and one-half inch thick with a one-quarter inch cutout one-half inch from the bottom, FIG. 5;

(1) schedule bottom plastic panel approximately ten and one-half inches by thirteen and eight-sixteenths inches and one-eighth inch thick shown at FIG. 6;

(6) metal track hinges comprising (12) each one-eighth inch diameter holes spaced two inches apart set one inch from the top and bottom of the panel, said hinge which is one and three-eighth inches by fourteen inches, shown at FIG. 1A.

Various changes and modifications may be made to the folding trash can without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention, and the above description is meant to be illustrative only.

Claims

1. A folding trash can comprising:

a. A rigid sectional (7) plastic panels folding trash can;
b. Schedule (6) metal track hinges;
c. (72) self-tapping stainless steel flange-head screws;

2. A folding trash can as defined in claim one, wherein said schedule (6) metal track hinges and (72) self-tapping stainless steel flange-head screws is adaptable and adjustable in order to fabricate any size folding trash can for commercial or residential use.

3. A folding trash can as defined in claim 1, wherein said plastic panels and hinges fold inward for easy storage.

4. A folding trash can as defined in claim 1, wherein said plastic panels and hinges unfold outward to form a standing trash can.
