Abstract

A reflective insulating cooler cover made of reflective bubble foil insulation. The cooler cover maintains the colder temperature when installed over an ice chest.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The idea for the Reflective Insulating Cooler Cover came during a camping trip in the summer of 2009. We had to travel over 20 miles one way each day to get ice for our coolers. The idea was based on the premise of covers used in vehicles to keep heat out during hot temperatures'. The thought was if this would cool a car then a similar material should prolong the life of ice in a cooler.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

FIG. 1 Shows a Reflective Insulated Cooler Cover, (Keepit Cooler), is made of a highly reflective insulation (Relfectix). This material is cut to fit different sizes of coolers. The size is determined by width, height, and length of the cooler. One piece, 5, is cut using the sum of the width, height and length. This will make up the front, 11, top, 10, and back, 15, of the cover as shown is FIG. 2 and FIG. 3. The two end pieces, 12 and 14 are then cut from the size of the height and width of the cooler, not shown. The sides are then sewn together onto the larger piece, 10, using a 1¼ inch nylon webbing material. There are three seams, 16A, 16B, and 16C on each end of the cooler cover. Webbing material, 16, is then sewn around the bottom of the front, back and sides of the cover. Then to complete the cover, two handles 18,20 as shown detail in FIG. 6 and FIG. 7, are sewn on the top of each end.

Claims

1. A reflective, insulated cooler cover comprised of three main pieces of a reflective bubble foil insulation to maintain the colder temperature inside an ice chest by reflecting heat away and insulating the ice in the chest, thus prolonging the life of the ice. Cover can be made to fit any size or shape of coolers.
