MULTIPURPOSE IPAD CASE

This multipurpose iPAD case opens to form a light/privacy shade around the iPAD and folds up around itself to create a protective case with a shoulder strap, worn to make the iPAD conveniently portable. It is made of rigid and pliable materials such as padded board and leather or any pliable material. The dimensions and folds of the rigid shell are determined by the iPad size. When opened as sun/privacy shade, the hood fits snugly at a adjustable angle with a rigid pocket to lean on. This pocket is adjusted by cords that pierce the main body of the case, going through the rigid pocket and adjusted with a cord lock for desired angle to view the screen. When placed in the center panel the iPad is slipped into a bottom and top piece of elastic which is sewn to the interior of main body to secure the iPad in position. When it's time to wrap it up, the iPad is placed in the center panel of the case, the side panels fold over the iPad, the bottom is folded over side panels, then the front of case is folded over and attached to the bottom with a triangular shaped tab. The adjustable shoulder strap is sewn to the side spines of the main body for transport.

CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 61/337,890, which is incorporated by reference herein.

FIELD OF INVENTION

The present invention relates generally to a iPad case having multipurpose usage. This invention creates a holding case that protects the iPad, and when opened creates a sun and privacy shield for the user to work anywhere. It has a shoulder strap for carrying.

Although there are many iPad cases, there are none designed as this invention, which worn as a carrying case, quickly unfolds to create a sun and privacy shield for the iPad screen, while protecting the iPad. This multipurpose iPad case also has a storage pocket in the back for cell phones, tickets, cables, keys, or anything a person may need for transporting small items.

SUMMARY OF INVENTION

The present invention provides multiple uses for the iPad user. It is made with Leather, Faux leather, waterproof material, Vinyl, canvas, Neoprene, cloth or any pliable material. An inexpensive version is made of coroplast.

When used with exterior materials, the interior is a padded board with folds. The folds are determined by the size of the iPad. The flaps are secured with Velcro. There is a storage pocket on the exterior of the case. This pocket serves the purpose of an adjustable stand for the case. It has a interior stiff board which is padded.

This multipurpose iPad case can be made with or without it's adjustable strap.

FIG. 1 is a frontal, three quarter view of the iPad case leaning on it's pocket.

FIG. 2 shows the iPad case open in it's adjustable leaning position as shown in FIG. 1

FIG. 3 shows the iPad case opened flat in exterior, rear position, pocket opened as in FIG. 1

FIG. 4 shows the iPad case from the rear closed, leaning on it's pocket as shown in FIG. 1

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

FIG. 1 provides an iPad carrying case closed 11. The case is leaning on it's rear pocket 14 with an adjustable shoulder strap 12. The main body of the case 11 is one piece, tabs and flaps are sewn on.

The strap is attached to the side 17 of the main body of case. The pocket stand's angle is adjusted with cords, 16, which are knotted on the interior of the main body 11, going through punched holes 15 in the pocket, eventually exiting the rear with a cord lock.
13 shows a piece of Velcro on the pocket, when case is closed for travel, this piece of Velcro attaches to the rear of the main body 11 of the case with the opposite Velcro to keep in position.
18 and 19 are the frontal parts of the main body, they are attached with Velcro lined tab 20 to keep the case closed.
21 shows the other side of the shoulder strap. 22 shows a Velcro lined flap which attaches to the side main body 17.

Claims

1. I claim this hearin defined multipurpose iPad case is an original idea that I, Elaine Fasula created in February 2010.

this multipurpose iPad case, whereby the case which holds the iPad, opens to form a sun/privacy shade around the iPad screen
while also providing a base which the iPad sits on, this case has a back pocket which creates a stand for the desired angle to view the screen. By placing the iPad in the center of the case, the case is then folded up around the iPad. The wing shaped side panels are folded over the iPad. The bottom panel of the case is then folded over the side wing shaped panels,
then the top panel, (which is the outside panel) is folded over and attaches to the bottom panel of the main body and secured with a velcro triangular tab. The strap which is sewn to the side spines of the main body spine, allows the multipurpose iPad case to be worn as a shoulder bag. This case is made of pliable materials such as leather, cloth, vinyl, neoprene.
the inner shell is made of padded board with folds. This case is also made of coroplast without covering material.
I claim that this case provides a new multipurpose function for the iPad users.
I affirm the right to ownership and title for a non provisional patent.
