Waterproof Bag

A waterproof bag includes a bag body having a receiving space and a through hole, a mounting seat mounted in the receiving space of the bag body and having a mounting chamber which has a plurality of connecting holes connected between the mounting chamber and the receiving space, a control plate movably mounted in the mounting chamber and movable to seal the connecting holes, an outer cover mounted on the bag body and having a plurality of drain holes connected to the through hole, and a filter mounted on the bag body and disposed between the through hole and the drain holes. Thus, the control plate co-operates with the mounting seat to function as a one-way valve which only drains the air in the bag body and can prevent the ambient air from entering the bag body.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a bag and, more particularly, to a waterproof bag.

2. Description of the Related Art

A conventional waterproof bag comprises a bag body having an inner portion provided with a receiving space and having a periphery provided with a through hole connected to the receiving space, a flexible strip mounted on an open end of the bag body, a fastener mounted on the flexible strip, and an air valve mounted in the through hole of the bag body and connected to the receiving space of the bag body. The receiving space of the bag body can be used to receive a user's smaller articles, such as a watch, a cell phone and the like. In operation, when the bag body is compressed, the air in the receiving space of the bag body is compressed to flow through the air valve and is drained outwardly from the through hole of the bag body so as to reduce the whole volume of the bag body. However, the air valve does not have an anti-reverse function to prevent the ambient air from entering the receiving space of the bag body so that the ambient air easily flows through the air valve into the receiving space of the bag body.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a waterproof bag, comprising a bag body having an inner portion provided with a receiving space and having a periphery provided with a through hole connected to the receiving space, a mounting seat mounted in the receiving space of the bag body and having an inner portion provided with a mounting chamber which is connected to the through hole of the bag body and has a bottom wall provided with a plurality of connecting holes connected to the receiving space of the bag body, a control plate movably mounted in the mounting chamber of the mounting seat and movable to seal the connecting holes of the mounting seat and to interrupt a connection between the connecting holes and the mounting chamber of the mounting seat, an outer cover mounted on the bag body and having a surface provided with a plurality of drain holes connected to the through hole of the bag body, and a filter mounted on the bag body and disposed between the through hole of the bag body and the drain holes of the outer cover.

The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a waterproof bag having a oneway air draining function.

According to the primary objective of the present invention, the control plate co-operates with the mounting seat to function as a oneway valve which only drains the air in the receiving space of the bag body and can prevent the ambient air from entering the receiving space of the bag body so as to facilitate the user compressing and reducing the volume of the bag body.

According to another objective of the present invention, the separation bars of the mounting seat separate the connecting holes of the mounting seat from the bag body to prevent the articles in the receiving space of the bag body from seal the connecting holes of the mounting seat, so that the air in the receiving space of the bag body can be drained outward quickly and conveniently.

According to a further objective of the present invention, the filter provides a filtering function to prevent impurities, such as sands, dusts and the like, from entering the mounting chamber of the mounting seat and the receiving space of the bag body.

Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring to the drawings and initially to FIGS. 1-5, a waterproof bag in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a bag body 1 having an inner portion provided with a receiving space 14 and having a periphery provided with a through hole 13 connected to the receiving space 14, a flexible strip 11 mounted on an open end of the bag body 1, a fastener 12 mounted on the flexible strip 11, a mounting seat 21 mounted in the receiving space 14 of the bag body 1 and having an inner portion provided with a mounting chamber 211 which is connected to the through hole 13 of the bag body 1 and has a bottom wall provided with a plurality of connecting holes 212 connected to the receiving space 14 of the bag body 1, a control plate 3 movably mounted in the mounting chamber 211 of the mounting seat 21 and movable to seal the connecting holes 212 of the mounting seat 21 and to interrupt a connection between the connecting holes 212 and the mounting chamber 211 of the mounting seat 21, an outer cover 4 mounted on the bag body 1 and having a surface provided with a plurality of drain holes 41 connected to the through hole 13 of the bag body 1, and a filter 42 mounted on the bag body 1 and disposed between the through hole 13 of the bag body 1 and the drain holes 41 of the outer cover 4.

The receiving space 14 of the bag body 1 can be used to receive a user's smaller articles, such as a watch, a cell phone and the like. The through hole 13 of the bag body 1 is disposed between the filter 42 and the mounting chamber 211 of the mounting seat 21.

The mounting seat 21 has an open top provided with an outward extending connecting flange 210 attached to the bag body 1 by bonding. The bottom wall of the mounting chamber 211 of the mounting seat 21 has a central portion provided with a mounting hole 213. The mounting hole 213 of the mounting seat 21 is surrounded by the connecting holes 212 and is connected between the mounting chamber 211 of the mounting seat 21 and the receiving space 14 of the bag body 1. The connecting holes 212 of the mounting seat 21 is connected between the mounting chamber 211 of the mounting seat 21 and the receiving space 14 of the bag body 1. The mounting seat 21 has a bottom provided with a plurality of upright separation bars 214 which separate the connecting holes 212 of the mounting seat 21 from the bag body 1. The separation bars 214 of the mounting seat 21 protrude outwardly from the bottom of the mounting seat 21 and extend into the receiving space 14 of the bag body 1.

The control plate 3 is preferably made of a flexible material, such as silicone, plastics, rubber and the like. The control plate 3 has a substantially arc-shaped cross-sectional profile and has a central portion provided with a limit post 31 movably mounted in the mounting hole 213 of the mounting seat 21 so that the control plate 3 is movable relative to the mounting seat 21. The limit post 31 of the control plate 3 has a peripheral wall provided with an enlarged stop flange 311 that is movable to abut a bottom of the mounting hole 213 of the mounting seat 21. The stop flange 311 of the limit post 31 is preferably made of a flexible material, such as silicone, plastics and the like. The stop flange 311 of the limit post 31 is disposed between the mounting hole 213 of the mounting seat 21 and the receiving space 14 of the bag body 1 and has a size greater than that of the mounting hole 213 of the mounting seat 21.

When in use, the control plate 3 is movable to space from the connecting holes 212 of the mounting seat 21 when the stop flange 311 of the limit post 31 is movable to abut the bottom of the mounting hole 213 of the mounting seat 21 as shown in FIG. 5, and is movable to seal the connecting holes 212 of the mounting seat 21 when the stop flange 311 of the limit post 31 is movable to space from the bottom of the mounting hole 213 of the mounting seat 21 as shown in FIG. 6.

The outer cover 4 is located outside of the bag body 1 and attached to the bag body 1 by bonding. The outer cover 4 has a size greater than that of the through hole 13 of the bag body 1 and that of the mounting chamber 211 of the mounting seat 21.

The filter 42 is located outside of the bag body 1 and is disposed between the outer cover 4 and the bag body 1 and is fully covered by and hidden in the outer cover 4. The filter 42 is made of an air permeable material, such as a sponge, a non-woven cloth and the like. The filter 42 has a size greater than that of the through hole 13 of the bag body 1 and that of the mounting chamber 211 of the mounting seat 21.

In operation, referring to FIGS. 5 and 6 with reference to FIGS. 1-4, when the bag body 1 is compressed, the air in the receiving space 14 of the bag body 1 is compressed to push the control plate 3 upward and to space the control plate 3 from the connecting holes 212 of the mounting seat 21 as shown in FIG. 5 so as to connect the connecting holes 212 of the mounting seat 21 to the mounting chamber 211 of the mounting seat 21 so that the air in the receiving space 14 of the bag body 1 can in turn flow through the connecting holes 212 of the mounting seat 21, the mounting chamber 211 of the mounting seat 21, the through hole 13 of the bag body 1, the filter 42 and the drain holes 41 of the outer cover 4 and can be drained outwardly from the drain holes 41 of the outer cover 4.

On the contrary, after the air in the receiving space 14 of the bag body 1 is drained outwardly from the drain holes 41 of the outer cover 4, the control plate 3 is pushed and moved downward by the ambient air to seal the connecting holes 212 of the mounting seat 21 as shown in FIG. 6 and to interrupt the connection between the connecting holes 212 and the mounting chamber 211 of the mounting seat 21, so that the connecting holes 212 of the mounting seat 21 and the receiving space 14 of the bag body 1 are isolated by the control plate 3 to prevent the ambient air from entering the receiving space 14 of the bag body 1. In such a manner, the control plate 3 co-operates with the mounting seat 21 to function as a oneway valve which drains the air in the receiving space 14 of the bag body 1 and prevents the ambient air from entering the receiving space 14 of the bag body 1.

Accordingly, the control plate 3 co-operates with the mounting seat 21 to function as a oneway valve which only drains the air in the receiving space 14 of the bag body 1 and can prevent the ambient air from entering the receiving space 14 of the bag body 1 so as to facilitate the user compressing and reducing the volume of the bag body 1. In addition, the separation bars 214 of the mounting seat 21 separate the connecting holes 212 of the mounting seat 21 from the bag body 1 to prevent the articles in the receiving space 14 of the bag body 1 from seal the connecting holes 212 of the mounting seat 21, so that the air in the receiving space 14 of the bag body 1 can be drained outward quickly and conveniently. Further, the filter 42 provides a filtering function to prevent impurities, such as sands, dusts and the like, from entering the mounting chamber 211 of the mounting seat 21 and the receiving space 14 of the bag body 1.

Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment(s) as mentioned above, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is, therefore, contemplated that the appended claim or claims will cover such modifications and variations that fall within the true scope of the invention.

Claims

1. A waterproof bag, comprising:

a bag body having an inner portion provided with a receiving space and having a periphery provided with a through hole connected to the receiving space;
a mounting seat mounted in the receiving space of the bag body and having an inner portion provided with a mounting chamber which is connected to the through hole of the bag body and has a bottom wall provided with a plurality of connecting holes connected to the receiving space of the bag body;
a control plate movably mounted in the mounting chamber of the mounting seat and movable to seal the connecting holes of the mounting seat and to interrupt a connection between the connecting holes and the mounting chamber of the mounting seat;
an outer cover mounted on the bag body and having a surface provided with a plurality of drain holes connected to the through hole of the bag body; and
a filter mounted on the bag body and disposed between the through hole of the bag body and the drain holes of the outer cover.

2. The waterproof bag of claim 1, wherein

the bottom wall of the mounting chamber of the mounting seat has a central portion provided with a mounting hole;
the control plate has a central portion provided with a limit post movably mounted in the mounting hole of the mounting seat so that the control plate is movable relative to the mounting seat.

3. The waterproof bag of claim 1, wherein the mounting seat has a bottom provided with a plurality of upright separation bars which separate the connecting holes of the mounting seat from the bag body.

4. The waterproof bag of claim 1, wherein the control plate has a substantially arc-shaped cross-sectional profile.

5. The waterproof bag of claim 2, wherein the limit post of the control plate has a peripheral wall provided with an enlarged stop flange that is movable to abut a bottom of the mounting hole of the mounting seat.

6. The waterproof bag of claim 1, wherein the through hole of the bag body is disposed between the filter and the mounting chamber of the mounting seat.

7. The waterproof bag of claim 2, wherein the mounting hole of the mounting seat is surrounded by the connecting holes.

8. The waterproof bag of claim 2, wherein the mounting hole of the mounting seat is connected between the mounting chamber of the mounting seat and the receiving space of the bag body.

9. The waterproof bag of claim 1, wherein the connecting holes of the mounting seat is connected between the mounting chamber of the mounting seat and the receiving space of the bag body.

10. The waterproof bag of claim 3, wherein the separation bars of the mounting seat protrude outwardly from the bottom of the mounting seat.

11. The waterproof bag of claim 3, wherein the separation bars of the mounting seat extend into the receiving space of the bag body.

12. The waterproof bag of claim 5, wherein the stop flange of the limit post is disposed between the mounting hole of the mounting seat and the receiving space of the bag body.

13. The waterproof bag of claim 5, wherein the stop flange of the limit post has a size greater than that of the mounting hole of the mounting seat.

14. The waterproof bag of claim 5, wherein

the control plate is movable to space from the connecting holes of the mounting seat when the stop flange of the limit post is movable to abut the bottom of the mounting hole of the mounting seat;
the control plate is movable to seal the connecting holes of the mounting seat when the stop flange of the limit post is movable to space from the bottom of the mounting hole of the mounting seat.

15. The waterproof bag of claim 1, wherein

the outer cover is located outside of the bag body;
the filter is located outside of the bag body.

16. The waterproof bag of claim 1, wherein the outer cover has a size greater than that of the through hole of the bag body and that of the mounting chamber of the mounting seat.

17. The waterproof bag of claim 1, wherein the filter is disposed between the outer cover and the bag body.

18. The waterproof bag of claim 1, wherein the filter is fully covered by and hidden in the outer cover.

19. The waterproof bag of claim 1, wherein the filter has a size greater than that of the through hole of the bag body and that of the mounting chamber of the mounting seat.

20. The waterproof bag of claim 1, wherein the mounting seat has an open top provided with an outward extending connecting flange attached to the bag body.
