Description
BACKGROUND OF INVENTION

There have been earlier versions of this invention to be used with beverages, but never before as advertisement media. Hence the design is for that purpose. The business name and or logo image is imprinted on the topside of the diaphragm. One of the ways this is done is electro-plating the image onto the diaphragm. The image appears raised by approximately 2/1000th of an inch. Although the image is an imprint, it is clearly visible. This is particularly useful for beverage manufacturers and chain restaurants.

The concept of the Ice Guard III is based upon my previous invention with Pat. No.: Des. 315, 479; date of patent: Mar. 19, 1991. It was listed under the category of “ICE STRAINER OR SIMILER ARTICLE”. The Ice Guard III, as did its predecessor, addresses the issue of consuming a beverage chilled with ice among other content. The proper use of the Ice Guard III is by placing it on the realm of a glass with the diaphragm hanging inside, and is supported by one or two fingers gripping the outside portion of the glass and the Ice Guard III. When the glass is tilted towards the drinker's open mouth, the ice Is held back, allowing the chilled beverage to flow forward into the mouth of the drinker. This is the original function of the concept.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE ICE GUARD III

The Ice Guard III has been redesigned for the purpose of advertising on the invention either the name of a popular beverage, restaurant, business, logo, or slogan as well as to function as originally designed. The advertisement space is the topside of the diaphragm (along with any other exterior surface of the invention) that holds the ice back from inside the glass.
