TIME HORSE RACING GAME

A gaming method enabling betters to bet on the incremental outcome of a race. A selected race is divided into a plurality of segments. Bets are accepted from betters who select numbers corresponding to a time or fraction thereof of a racer having the fastest elapsed time for each of the selected segments of the race. A winner is determined after the race is completed based on the actual race times of the racers through each of the selected segments of the race. If there is one or more winning betters the winning betters are paid an amount proportional to the total bet divided by the number of winning betters.

This application claims priority to Uruguay Patent Application No 32175 filed on Oct. 13, 2009 by Marcelo Bassignana and Jose Rionda, being domiciled at Jose Maria Guerra 3540, Montevideo, Uruguay, for an invention which is their property, named “Juego Hipico de Tiempos” (Time Horse Racing Game).

TECHNICAL FIELD

A gaming method for betting on racing events such as horse races.

SUMMARY

A gaming method is provided which enables betters to bet on the incremental outcome of a race. The winning time is the fasts time through the incremental segment and is not necessarily the time of the ultimate winner of the race. If there is one or more winning better who selected the correct numbers, the winning betters receive an amount proportional to the total bet divided by the number of winning betters.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The game consists of a bettor choosing XX quantity of numbers from 01 to 99 or 00 to 30 or 00 to 33 inclusive with correspond to the time interval of the fastest racer though a series of segments of a selected race such as a horse race or the like. The ticket that wins shall be the one which has chosen the numbers identified as winners. Winners shall determined from the measurement of partial times of the horse race trajectory, instrumental time through a segment of the race, on which the bet was made. Times of horse races are measured based on minutes, seconds and centiseconds. Preferably. the winning numbers shall be those which correspond to the hundredths of the partial times of the fastest horse through the course segment. The partial trajectories (segments) of races on which the measurement shall be made for the bet shall be duly identified in the bet specific Regulations, shall depend on the race distance [between 600 meters to 2800 meters].

The creation the property of which they apply for consists of a gaming method in which:

I) the bet of this kind of game consists of choosing XX quantity of numbers from 01 to 99 or 00 to 30 or 00 to 33 inclusive.

They shall arise from the measurement of partial times of the horse race trajectory on which the bet was made. Times of horse races are measured based on minutes, seconds and centiseconds. The winner numbers shall be those which correspond to the hundredths of the partial times. The partial trajectories of races on which the measurement shall be made for the bet shall be duly identified in the bet specific Regulations, shall depend on the race distance [between 600 meters to 2800 meters].
IV) Prize: a. The prize shall consist of a fixed percentage of the total amount of bets made through all the country for the corresponding race. b) In all the cases where more than one right answer occurs, the prize amount shall be divided into equal parts among the winners. c) The payment for the winner ticket shall be made to the ticket holder [in case of a telephonic or an electronic bet, the payment shall be made to whom proves to be the holder]. d) If no winner bets are obtained, the prize shall be declared vacant and its amount shall accumulate for the next week prize and successively until a correct bet occurs. e) The prize shall be paid through a collection system to be determined at the Hipódromo Nacional de Maroñas or at the Horse Races Agencies in Montevideo or at the location which shall be determined later.

In a variation of the game the bettors must also provide information corresponding to the racer having the fastest time in each segment of the race, wherein the winning bettor must correctly identify both the winning time and the winning racer. This racer information can be as simple as the ultimate winner of the race or not the ultimate winner. Alternatively the winner can be identified as a specific racer, or racer from a prior event.
