Toilet seat
A toilet seat hinged to the rim of a toilet bowl for the sitting of a person is disclosed, having a front bridge, a front baffle plate downwardly extending from the front bridge and insertable into the cavity of the toilet bowl to stop splashing of discharged urine through the gap between the toilet seat and the rim of the toilet bowl, and a front finger recess defined between the bottom side of the front bridge and the front side of front baffle plate for the insertion of fingers to lift the toilet seat from the toilet bowl.
1. Field of the Invention:
The present invention relates to toilets and more particularly, to a toilet seat, which fits a male user as well as a female user and, effectively limits splashing of discharged urine.
2. Description of the Related Art:
A toilet is generally equipped with a toilet seat so that a user can sit on the seat at the top side of the toilet bowl when discharging excrement.
A regular toilet seat has a substantially annular shape hinged to the rear side of the rim of a toilet bowl. If a male user sits on the toilet seat when discharging urine, discharged urine may splash over the floor through the gap between the toilet seat and the rim of the toilet bowl accidentally. Therefore, when a male user is going to discharge urine into a toilet bowl, it is suggested to lift the toilet seat from the toilet bowl, avoiding splashing of discharged urine over the toilet seat. However, because regular toilet seats are commonly made in a flat shape, it is inconvenient to lift a toilet seat from a toilet bowl.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThe present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. According to one aspect of the present invention, the toilet seat is hinged to the rim of a toilet bowl and fitting the rim of the toilet bowl for the sitting of a person, having a front bridge upwardly protruding from the front side of the body thereof and a front baffle plate downwardly extending from the front bridge and insertable into the cavity of the toilet bowl for limiting splashing of discharged urine.
According to another aspect of the present invention, the body of the toilet seat has a predetermined width, and the front bridge protrudes over the top wall of the body of the toilet seat at a predetermined height. Further, the front baffle plate defines with the front bridge a front finger recess. Through the front finger recess, a user can lift the toilet seat from the rim of the toilet bowl with the fingers conveniently.
Further, the front baffle plate is inserted into the cavity of the toilet bowl when the toilet seat is supported on the rim of the toilet bowl, blocking the gap between the front bridge and the rim of the toilet bowl. When a user is sitting on the toilet seat, the front bridge is suspending in front of the user between the user's two legs, and therefore the design of the front bridge does not hinder a user in using the toilet.
Referring to the annexed drawings in detail, a toilet seat according to the present invention is adapted for use in a toilet for the sitting of a user above the bowl of the toilet. Referring to

As stated above, the invention provides a toilet seat that has a front bridge on the front side and a front baffle plate downwardly extending from the front bridge. When the toilet seat is lowered and supported on the rim of the toilet bowl, the front baffle plate is forced into the cavity of the toilet bowl. Through the finger recess, the user can lift the toilet seat from the toilet bowl conveniently with the hand. The front bridge and the front baffle plate effectively prohibit splashing of discharged urine through the gap between the toilet seat and the rim of the toilet bowl. Further, the arrangement of the front bridge and the front baffle plate does not hinder a person from using the toilet
Although a particular embodiment of the invention has been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
