DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Embodiments of the present invention will now be described, by way of example only, with reference to the accompanying drawings.

As shown in FIG. 1 to FIG. 4, the adjustable and changeable weight training device of the present invention comprises a top body 1, an upper body 2, a collar 3, at least one weight disk 4, a lower body 5, a bottom board 6 and a connection member 7.

The top body 1 is located at a top end of the weight training device. The top body 1 can have one or more embodiment. In this embodiment, the weight training device is used as a dumbbell. The top body 1 has a post 11 extending downward from a central portion thereof. The post 11 is hollow and has a taper shape. The post 11 has a central threaded hole 13. The top body 1 further comprises a pair of engaging portions 12 transversely extending from two sides of the post 11 and a handle 14 extending upward from the pair of engaging portions 12.

The upper body 2 is located under the top body 1. The upper body 2 has a central through hole 21 which has a funnel shape. The central through hole 21 is adapted for insertion of the post 11 of the top body 1. The upper body 2 has a pair of engaging recesses 22 at two sides of the central through hole 21. The pair of engaging recesses 22 is adapted to accommodate the pair of engaging portions 12 of the top body 1. The upper body 2 further has a smooth top curved surface 23 for the wrist of a user to lean thereon. The upper body 2 has a bottom formed with chamber 24.

The collar 3 is substantially in a ring shape and located in the chamber 24 of the upper body 2. The collar 3 has a central through hole 31 and a pair of recesses 32 at two sides of the central through hole 31. The pair of recesses 32 corresponds in shape to the pair of engaging recesses 22.

The weight disk 4 has a ring shape and is located under the top body 2 and the collar 3. The number of the weight disks 4 is adjustable. The weight disk 4 has a central through hole 41 corresponding to the central through hole 31 of the collar 3. The weight disk 4 has a concave portion 42 around the central through hole 41 and a raised ring 43 around the concave portion 42. The bottom of the weight disk 4 has a convex ring 44 corresponding to the raised ring 43. The convex ring 44 is to accommodate the raised ring 43 of another underneath weight disk 4 when two weight disks 4 are stacked together, which facilitates the alignment and positioning of the upper and lower weight disks 4 and to diminish the structural stress when in use.

The lower body 5 is located under the lowest weight disk 4. The configuration of the lower body 5 is similar to that of the weight disk 4. The lower body 5 has a central through hole 51 corresponding to the central through hole 41 of the weight disk 4. The lower body 5 has a concave portion 52 around the central through hole 51 and a raised ring 53 around the concave portion 52. The bottom of the lower body 5 has a chamber 54 and an annular rib 541 in the chamber 54. The annular rib 541 has a reduced outer side.

The bottom board 6 is a flat board and has a central through hole 61. The bottom board 6 is located in the annular rib 541 at the bottom of the lower body 5. The bottom board 6 has a bottom surface which is provided with radial non-skid portions 62.

The connection member 7 comprises a threaded body 71 and a positioning board 73. The threaded body 71 is screwed to the threaded hole 13 of the top body 1. The positioning board 73 is pivotally connected to the threaded body 71 with a pivot member 72. The positioning board 73 can be turned relative to the threaded body 71.

The top body 1, the upper body 2, the collar 3, the weight disk 4, the lower body 5 and the bottom board 6 are stacked one by one, and then the threaded body 71 of the connection member 7 is inserted through the through holes of the parts and locked to the threaded hole 13, so that the present invention is assembled, as shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 4.

When the user wants to have a light kettle-shaped dumbbell, the connection member 7 is unscrewed to take out one or more weight disk 4 as shown in FIG. 5, and then the connection member 7 is screwed to the threaded hole 73 again as shown in FIG. 6. After assembly, the positioning board 73 is turned sideward so that the positioning board 73 is completely accommodated in the chamber 54, not protruding out of the chamber 54. The radial non-skid portions 62 provide a better engaging capacity to the positioning board 73, preventing the positioning board 73 from disengagement.

Preferably, the lower body 5 is made of a soft material, avoiding any damage to a floor or a tabletop and any noise when the weight training device is placed and providing a non-skid function.

The collar 3 is not a required part, depending on the weight.

In this embodiment, the length of the connection member 7 can be in different sizes according to the number of the weight disks 4. In the drawings, the length of the connection member 7 is used for three weight disks. If five weight disks 4 are needed, the length of the connection member must be lengthened.

As shown in FIG. 7, the cross-section of the connection member 7 is non-circular and non-isometric, such that the connection member 7 is not easy to be lifted after the connection member 7 is pressed and engaged, enhancing the engagement of the connection member 7 and the threaded hole 13.

The aforesaid embodiment of the weight training device is a kettle-shaped dumbbell. FIG. 8 and FIG. 9 show different embodiments of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 8, the weight training device is a dumbbell. As shown in FIG. 9, the weigh training device is a barbell. The top body 8 doesn't have a handle. The top body 8 has a rod which extends from one end of the post 83 and is coaxial with the post 83. The two sides of the post 83 also have the engaging portions 12. The post 83 has the threaded hole 13. When the rod is a short rod 84, the weight training device is a dumbbell. Two sides of the rod 84 are respectively connected with the upper body 2, the weight disk4, the lower body 5, the base board 6 and the connection member 7 in sequence. When the rod is a long rod 85, the weight training device is a barbell, as shown in FIG. 9.

By the post 11 and the threaded hole 13 of the top body 1, the upper body 2, the weight disk 4, the lower body 5, the bottom board 6 and the connection member 7 incorporated with the changeable top body 1, the weight training device of the present invention can be used for different purposes,

Although particular embodiments of the present invention have been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. Accordingly, the present invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.
