WEIGHT ADJUSTABLE BAT
A bat made of metal material includes an opening defined in a distal end of the barrel and an inner threaded portion is defined in the opening so as to receive a cap which is threadedly connected to the inner threaded portion and includes a weight such that the users can replace different caps to adjust the weight center of the bat as needed. The cap can be easily replaced by using a securing tool which includes insertion portions to be engaged with axial recesses in the cap.
The present invention relates to a bat, and more particularly, to a weight adjustable bat.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTIONBaseball is a popular exercise and the players need a suitable bat to have better performance.
A conventional bat has a fixed weight and weight center because no movable or adjustable part is added to the bat. However, players of different heights need different bats whose weight enters are different so that professional players have custom-made bats. Nevertheless, for most of the players, it cost a lot to own custom-made bats and too many bats will be a burden for the team.
The present invention intends to provide a weight adjustable bat which includes a cap removably connected to the bat and the cap has a pre-set weight so as to achieve the purpose of a weight adjustable bat.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThe present invention relates to a bat made of metal material and the bat is a hollow cylindrical body including a handle and a barrel. The handle has an exterior diameter smaller than an exterior diameter of the barrel. An opening defined in a distal end of the barrel and includes an inner threaded portion so as to be threadedly connected to a cap. A washer is located between the barrel and the cap to seal the opening.
The primary object of the present invention is to provide a bat that includes a cap which can be replaced and the cap has different weight so as to adjust the weight center of the bat.
The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.
Referring to
The cap 20 has an exterior diameter larger than an interior diameter of the opening 15 and not larger than a maximum exterior diameter of the barrel 12, such that the bat 1 has a smooth and fixed profile. The cap 20 includes an outer threaded section 22 which extends axially from an end of the at least one cap 20, the outer threaded section 22 is threadedly connected with the inner threaded portion 16. A washer 26 is located between the barrel 12 and the cap 20 so as to seal the opening 15 to prevent dust or water from entering the bat 1.
The cap 20 includes multiple axial recesses 21 defined in an end surface thereof. The axial recesses 21 are located in pairs and in radial directions around a center of the cap 20 at equal distance. The cap 20 further has an index 23 marked thereon so as to display weight of the cap 20. The index 23 can be made by any known method such as stick, printing, carving or laser carving. The index 23 can also be made integrally with the cap 20. As shown in
The cap 20 is connected to the bat 1 by using a securing tool 30 as shown in
The weight of center can be changed easily by replacing a cap 20. The bat 1 can be cooperated with multiple caps 20 so as to obtain desired bat 1 for different players.
While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
