Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a furniture and, more particularly, to a shelf assembly.

2. Description of the Related Art

A conventional shelf assembly comprises a shelf body and an ornamental piece mounted on the shelf body. However, the shelf body is made of wood so that the conventional shelf assembly will consume a large amount of wood material, thereby wasting the natural source and causing danger to the environment. In addition, the ornamental piece is directly fixed on the shelf body so that the ornamental piece cannot be removed from the shelf body for replacement according to a user's requirement, thereby limiting the aesthetic quality of the shelf assembly.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a shelf assembly, comprising a support frame and an ornamental unit removably mounted on the support frame. The support frame is made of a metallic material, and the ornamental unit is removably mounted on the support frame in a magnetically attractive manner.

The ornamental unit includes at least one attachment member mounted on the support frame, a plurality of magnets mounted on the attachment member and attracted magnetically to the support frame to attach the attachment member to the support frame, at least one first decorative member mounted on a first side of the attachment member, and at least one second decorative member mounted on a second side of the attachment member.

Preferably, the attachment member of the ornamental unit has a surface formed with a plurality of receiving slots to receive the magnets. The magnets of the ornamental unit are fixed in the receiving slots of the attachment member respectively.

Preferably, the first decorative member and the second decorative member of the ornamental unit have different patterns.

Preferably, the attachment member of the ornamental unit is sandwiched between the first decorative member and the second decorative member.

Preferably, each of the magnets of the ornamental unit is sandwiched between the first decorative member and the second decorative member.

Preferably, each of the magnets of the ornamental unit has a size flush with that of a respective one of the receiving slots of the attachment member.

Preferably, the first decorative member and the second decorative member of the ornamental unit are bonded onto the attachment member respectively.

The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a shelf assembly having a removable ornamental unit.

According to the primary objective of the present invention, the ornamental unit is removably mounted on the support frame so that the ornamental unit can be removed from the support frame for replacement to satisfy a user's requirement, thereby enhancing the versatility of the shelf assembly.

According to another objective of the present invention, the magnets of the ornamental unit are attracted magnetically to the support frame to attach the attachment member to the support frame so that the ornamental unit is mounted on and removed from the support frame easily and quickly.

According to a further objective of the present invention, the support frame is made of a metallic material instead of a wood material to decrease consumption of the wood so as to achieve the environmental protection purpose.

According to a further objective of the present invention, the first decorative member and the second decorative member of the ornamental unit have different patterns so as to fit the user's requirement.

Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING(S)

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a shelf assembly in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention.

FIG. 2 is a perspective view of an ornamental unit of the shelf assembly as shown in FIG. 1.

FIG. 3 is a partially exploded perspective view of the ornamental unit of the shelf assembly as shown in FIG. 2.

FIG. 4 is a locally enlarged view of the ornamental unit of the shelf assembly as shown in FIG. 2.

FIG. 5 is a perspective view of a shelf assembly in accordance with another preferred embodiment of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring to the drawings and initially to FIGS. 1-4, a shelf assembly in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a support frame 2 and an ornamental unit 1 removably mounted on the support frame 2. The support frame 2 is made of a metallic material, and the ornamental unit 1 is removably mounted on the support frame 2 in a magnetically attractive manner.

The ornamental unit 1 is mounted on a side of the support frame 2 and includes at least one attachment member 11 mounted on the support frame 2, a plurality of magnets 12 mounted on the attachment member 11 and attracted magnetically to the support frame 2 to attach the attachment member 11 to the support frame 2, at least one first decorative member 112 mounted on a first side of the attachment member 11, and at least one second decorative member 113 mounted on a second side of the attachment member 11.

The attachment member 11 of the ornamental unit 1 is sandwiched between the first decorative member 112 and the second decorative member 113 and has a surface formed with a plurality of receiving slots 111 to receive the magnets 12.

The magnets 12 of the ornamental unit 1 are fixed in the receiving slots 111 of the attachment member 11 respectively. Each of the magnets 12 of the ornamental unit 1 is sandwiched between the first decorative member 112 and the second decorative member 113 and has a size flush with that of a respective one of the receiving slots 111 of the attachment member 11.

The first decorative member 112 and the second decorative member 113 of the ornamental unit 1 have different patterns. The first decorative member 112 and the second decorative member 113 of the ornamental unit 1 are bonded onto the attachment member 11 respectively.

As shown in FIG. 1, the support frame 2 and the ornamental unit 1 construct a cabinet.

As shown in FIG. 5, the support frame 2a and the ornamental unit la construct a table.

Accordingly, the ornamental unit 1 is removably mounted on the support frame 2 so that the ornamental unit 1 can be removed from the support frame 2 for replacement to satisfy a user's requirement, thereby enhancing the versatility of the shelf assembly. In addition, the magnets 12 of the ornamental unit 1 are attracted magnetically to the support frame 2 to attach the attachment member 11 to the support frame 2 so that the ornamental unit 1 is mounted on and removed from the support frame 2 easily and quickly. Further, the support frame 2 is made of a metallic material instead of a wood material to decrease consumption of the wood so as to achieve the environmental protection purpose. Further, the first decorative member 112 and the second decorative member 113 of the ornamental unit 1 have different patterns so as to fit the user's requirement.

Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment(s) as mentioned above, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is, therefore, contemplated that the appended claim or claims will cover such modifications and variations that fall within the true scope of the invention.
