Tie display band wrap
A tie display band wrap is disclosed which comprises a band having a first end, a second end, a top edge, and a bottom edge, a tab portion extending from the bottom edge, a display portion positioned on the band, and a securing assembly.
This disclosure relates generally to a retail merchandise display to promote the sale of merchandise, and more particularly, to a tie display band wrap used to display and wrap a tie.
Displays for neckwear or ties to distinguish tie manufacturers or specific ties from one another are available. One display device is a display hanger in which a tie is hung from the display hanger and hung from a display device such as a rack. However, a display hanger has a few problems associated with its use. One problem is that the display hanger and the tie are easily knocked off the display device and fall to the ground. A second problem is that once the display hanger is removed from the display device it may be difficult to replace the display hanger back on the display device. Another device for displaying ties may be a table upon which ties are placed. Again, there are a few problems when using a table as a display device. One problem is that if an individual is looking for a particular brand an individual will have to flip each tie over to determine the brand. Another problem is that once the tie is flipped over it may be difficult to place the tie back in the same position or the tie may come undone and be difficult to fold back to its original position. Various other display devices are used to display ties with one display device being an alpha display. However, once the ties are placed in the various shelves of an alpha display it is difficult to determine the brand of the tie without removing the tie from the alpha display. Therefore, there is a need to provide a device that may be employed to easily display a tie. It would also be advantageous to be able to provide a device that will hold or wrap a tie so that when the tie is removed from a display it will be easy to replace the tie in the display in the same condition or position that the tie was in prior to removal of the tie from the display.
The present disclosure is designed to obviate and overcome many of the disadvantages and shortcomings associated with presently available methods or constructions of displaying a tie. In particular, the present disclosure is a tie display band wrap that is designed and constructed to secured the tie and to display some identifying mark concerning the tie such as a brand name. Moreover, the tie display band wrap of the present disclosure may be easily positioned on a display to visually show or indicate a brand of a tie or any other information concerning a tie. Further, the tie display band wrap of the present disclosure may have an advertisement printed on the tie display band wrap.

Referring now to the drawings, wherein like numbers refer to like items, number 10 identifies an embodiment of a tie display band wrap constructed according to the present disclosure. With reference now to
The wrap 10 may include a first pair of fold lines 28 and 30 positioned on the band 12. The fold lines 28 and 30 are used to fold the wrap 10 at an edge or side of a tie, as will be discussed more fully herein. The tie display band wrap 10 may also include a second pair of fold lines 32 and 34 in the display portion 24 of the band 12. The fold lines 32 and 34 may be used to fold the wrap 10 around another side of a tie. The tab portion 22 has a first extension portion 36 and a second extension portion 38.
With reference now to
In order to assemble the wrap 10 the wrap 10 may be folded along the fold lines 28, 30, 32, and 34. The tab portion 22 is inserted through one or both of the keepers 48 and 50 and the extension portions 36 and 38 are used to hook the tab portion 22 against the keepers 48 and 50 to hold the tab portion 22 in place. The wrap 10 is folded around the tie 42 and the securing assembly 26 is used to secure the second end 16 to the first end 14. If required, the tie display body wrap 10 may be removed from the tie 42 by releasing the securing assembly 26 and sliding the tab portion 22 out from the keepers 48 and 50. In this manner the wrap 10 may be reused or discarded.
The tie display band wrap 100 further comprises a band 138 that is separate from the body portion 102. The band 138 has a first end 140, a second end 142, a top edge 144, and a bottom edge 146. A securing assembly 148 such as a strip of adhesive may be provided on the band 138 near the second end 142. The tie display band wrap 100 also comprises an end tab portion 150 having a fold line 152 and a securing assembly 154 such as an adhesive strip. The end tab portion 150 has a left side 156 and a right side 158 with the sides 156 and 158 being defined by the fold line 152. Although not shown, the end tab portion 150 has another securing assembly, such as a strip of adhesive on the backside of the left side 156.
In order to assemble the tie display band wrap 100 the first end 140 of the band 138 is inserted into the slit 120. The flap 118 is then folded over and with use of the strip of adhesive on the backside of the flap 118 the band 138 is held in place. The first end 140 of the band 138 has a width that is smaller than the width of the slit 120 in order for the first end 140 to fit through the slit 120. The end tab portion 150 is folded along the fold line 152 and the right side 158 is adhered to the adhesive strip 148. The adhesive strip 154 is adhered to the backside of the band 138 at the end 142. This provides a finished end to the end 142 of the band 138. The tab portion 114 and the extensions 130 and 132 may be inserted through a keeper associated with a tie. The band 138 may be wrapped around the tie and the strip of adhesive on the backside of the left side 156 of the end tab portion 150 may be adhered to the central portion 116. The body portion 102 and the end tab portion 150 may be constructed from paper and the band 138 may be constructed of a woven material. As can be appreciated, one way to remove the wrap 100 is to remove the tab portion 114 from a keeper and the tie may be slid away from the wrap 100 or the central portion 116 maybe released from the strip of adhesive on the backside of the left side 156 of the end tab portion 150.
Referring now to
It should be recognized that the tie display band wraps 10 and 100 of the present disclosure could be constructed of various materials such as paper, cardboard, plastic, metal, cloth or other woven materials. Preferably, the wraps 10 and 100 will be formed of relatively lightweight material so that the wraps 10 and 100 can be easily manufactured, assembled, positioned, secured in place, removed, transported, and stored. Further, the wraps 10 and 100 can be constructed of relatively inexpensive materials that will provide for the wraps 10 and 100 to be mass produced, disposable, and suitable for one time use. It is also possible that the tie display band wraps 10 and 100 can be formed of various other shapes or configurations than the various shapes and configurations depicted herein. For example, the display portion 24 of the wrap 10 can be circular in shape rather than rectangular.
