DETACHABLE SUPPORT AND SERVING TRAY
A serving apparatus includes a serving tray, a detachable support, and a support stem extending from the detachable support. The detachable support temporarily assembles to the serving tray, which may be configured as serving tray for serving food or drink, or as an elevated serving platter.
The present application claims priority to U.S. Provisional Patent application Ser. No. 61/401,023, filed Aug. 6, 2010, the entire content of which is incorporated herein by reference.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTIONThe present invention generally relates to apparatus for serving and presenting food or drinks, and more particularly, to a detachable support and serving tray apparatus.
Some serving apparatus may not provide a stable support for holding a plurality of drinks in a stable manner. Some serving apparatus may not provide a detachable support that may allow the apparatus to be used as both a serving tray and an elevated serving platter.
As can be seen, there is a need for an improved serving apparatus that may allow the apparatus to be used as a serving tray having a stable support for holding a plurality of drinks or as an elevated serving platter.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONIn one aspect of the present invention, a serving apparatus is provided, the apparatus comprising a serving tray, a detachable support, and a support stem extending from a bottom side of the detachable support and configured to temporarily assemble to the serving tray.
In another aspect of the present invention, a serving apparatus is provided, the apparatus comprising a serving tray, a tray slot formed in the serving tray, a holding structure, a support stem, a support, wherein the holding structure forms a top surface of the support, and wherein the support stem connects the holding structure to the tray slot, and a detachable support tab, the detachable support tab on an end of the support stem and configured to twistingly engage the tray slot.
These and other features, aspects and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings, description and claims.
The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.
Various inventive features are described below that can each be used independently of one another or in combination with other features.
Broadly, embodiments of the present invention generally provide a support and serving tray apparatus that includes a support for holding drinks or food items, the support being detachably assembled to a serving tray by a support stem.
