A bubble blowing device having an elongated bubble blowing member with a mouthpiece at one end and a bubble forming material attached to the opposite end. A cover is secured to the bubble blowing member and covers at least a portion of the material.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The invention is directed to a bubble blowing device and more particularly to a device that produces a chain or long strand of bubbles.

Bubble blowing devices are well known in the art and come in all shapes and sizes. Such devices are provided primarily for a child's entertainment and produce bubbles that float in the air until the bubble pops. Other bubble devices produce a long strand or chain of bubbles. One example of such a device is disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 3,443,337 by Ehrlich wherein a bubble forming material is placed over the end of a bubble blowing member to create the bubble strand or chain.

While effective in creating a bubble chain, the bubble forming material is easily dislodged from the bubble blowing member either from the blowing force or from contact with a foreign object. Therefore a need exists in the art for a device that addresses these deficiencies.

Therefore, an objective of the present invention is to provide a bubble blowing device that improves upon those known in the art.

Another objective of the present invention is to provide a bubble blowing device that better secures a bubble forming material from a bubble blowing member.

A still further objective is to provide a bubble blowing device that prevents inadvertent dislodgement of the bubble forming material from the bubble blowing member.

These and other objectives will be apparent to one skilled in the art based upon the following disclosure.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

A bubble blowing device having an elongated bubble blowing member with a mouth piece at one end. Attached to the opposite end with a ring is a bubble forming material. A cover is secured to the member and positioned to cover at least a portion of the material.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Referring to the figures, the bubble blowing device 10 has a hollow elongated tubular bubble blowing member 12 with a mouthpiece 14 at one end. The mouthpiece 14 is integrally formed as part of the blowing member 12 or alternatively is connected to the blowing member 12 in any conventional manner. The mouthpiece 14 has an opening 16 that is in communication with a conduit 18 of the blowing member 12.

Covering the conduit 18 at the opposite end of the blowing member 12 is a bubble forming material 20. The bubble forming material is of any porous type and preferably is a microfiber such as a synthetic fiber that measures less than one denier. In contrast to woven cloth, the microfiber produces a large diameter chain of bubbles when pulled taunt against the end of the blowing member 12. The material 20 is attached to the blowing member 12 in any conventional manner, and preferably is pulled taunt over conduit 18 with a portion folded over to engage the outer surface of the blowing member 12 and removably held in place by a ring 22 such as an o-ring.

Fitted over and secured to the bubble end of the blowing member 12 is a cover 24. The cover has an open top 26, an open bottom 28, and a sidewall 30. The cover 24 is secured to the blowing member 12 in any conventional manner and preferably is sized to frictionally engage ring 22 on the cover's 24 inner surface.

In operation, the bubble forming material 20 is placed over the bubble end of the bubble blowing member 12 such that conduit 18 is covered and a portion of the material 20 is secured to the outer surface of the member 12 by a ring 22. Once secured, a cover 24 is placed over the ring 22 and portion of material 20 such that the cover 24 is secured to member 12. Once in place, the bubble end of the member 12 is dipped in a container 32 filled with bubble solution 34. Once dipped, air is blown through conduit 18 to the solution soaked material 20 creating a long strand of bubbles.

Thus, a bubble blowing device that, at the very least, meets all the stated objectives, has been disclosed.

Claims

1. A bubble blowing device, comprising: a bubble blowing member; a bubble forming material attached to one end of the bubble blowing member; and a cover attached to the bubble blowing member and positioned to cover a portion of the bubble forming material.

2. The device of claim 1 wherein the bubble forming material is made of a microfiber.

3. The device of claim 1 wherein the bubble forming material is attached to the bubble blowing member by a ring.

4. The device of claim 3 wherein the cover engages the ring.

5. A bubble blowing device, comprising: a bubble blowing member; and a bubble forming material attached to one end of the bubble blowing member, wherein the bubble forming material is a microfiber.
