Golf flag stick and golf club support

A golf flag stick support comprises a member for attachment to the golf flag stick; a support stake pivotably attached to the member. The support stake has a non-operative position wherein the support stake is substantially parallel to the golf flag stick when the golf flag stick is secured inside a putting green cup. The support stake further has an operative position wherein the support stake makes an acute angle with the golf flag stick and an end member of said support stake is pushed into the ground, thereby supporting the golf flag stick outside the cup.

Description
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The invention consist of a support staff which is attached to the golf flag stick in a manner which allows it to swing out and stay perpendicular to the ground when the flag stick is removed from the cup for putting. A small thin spike is built into the bottom of the support staff. This spike can be pushed into the ground by applying downward pressure to the golf flag stick. This then holds the flag stick off the green surface making it easy to reach it without bending all the way over. In this position the flag stick and support can be used to lean additional golf clubs against it keeping the clubs off the surface of the green. Making them very easy to reach without bending all the way over to the ground and keeping them clean from the chemicals and moisture on the green.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is side view of a flag stick including a support embodying the present invention in an operative position supporting the flag stick.

FIG. 2 is a right side of the support of FIG. 1, showing the support in a folded, non-supporting position.

FIG. 3 is a front elevational view of the support of FIG. 2.

FIG. 4 is a right side view of FIG. 3.

FIG. 5 is similar to FIG. 1, showing a golf club leaning against the support.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The present invention is a golf flag stick and golf club support. It holds the flag stick off the ground while the golfers are putting.

A small diameter support stake is attached to the golf flag stick in a manner to allow it to pivot out and remain perpendicular to the ground when the flag is removed from the cup. The stake has a small spike attached at the bottom of the stake and with downward pressure on the golf flag stick will penetrate the green. This will hold the golf flag stick off the ground and allow the golfers that brought extra clubs to the green to lean them against the flag stick and keep them off the green surface.

The support keeps the flag off the green out of the moisture and chemicals on the green. The flag will last much longer and look much better longer.

The support pampers the golfers, especially the seniors that many have back problems and can not bend easily.

The support provides a support where the additional clubs brought to the green can be leaned against to keep them off the green and out of the moisture and chemicals on the green.

The support will cause more people to play golf because of the convenience of it; will allow senior golfers to golf longer even if they have back problems; will protect the greens from bumps being made by dropping the flag stick on the green; makes it more apparent that the flag stick has not been reinstalled after putting.

The softness of the green will increase from the repeated insertion of the small spike.

The present invention will speed up the game by not having to go back to the golf cart to take the club you used to chip with.

The support can be used to attach the indicator flag for the hole position on the green.
