BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

This invention relates generally to the field of outdoor fireplaces and more specifically to a bottle shaped fire pit.

Portable fire pits are currently available for sale at various retail shops which specialize in outdoor recreation items. The typically are formed of a metallic dish shape which is capable of holding wood or other burnable items. The dish shape usually has legs which hold it up off the ground. Many times the dish shape is covered with a screened lid to help contain burnt embers and the like.
Although the portable fire pits currently available serve their function of providing the user with a safe way to enjoy and outdoor fire, the shape of the dish and enclosure do not perform any novel secondary functions
One such decorative function includes using the fire pit assembly as a promotional item by shaping it like a beverage bottle.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The primary object of the invention is to provide a portable fire pit that is made in the shape of a bottle.

Another object of the invention is to provide a portable fire pit that helps support auxiliary tables.

Another object of the invention is to provide a bottle shaped fire pit that can be decorated with a branded beverage logo.

Other objects and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following descriptions, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, wherein, by way of illustration and example, an embodiment of the present invention is disclosed.

In accordance with a preferred embodiment of the invention, there is disclosed a bottle shaped fire pit comprising: a dish shaped base member, a screened side wall assembly, a hinged door, a bottle neck shaped chimney, a bottle cap shaped uppermost member, a plurality of support legs, said legs supporting said bottle shaped fire pit assembly, said screened side wall assembly fixedly attached to said dish shaped base member, said hinged door forming a portion of said bottle side wall assembly, and said uppermost cap member capable of being removed during use and replaced after use.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

The drawings constitute a part of this specification and include exemplary embodiments to the invention, which may be embodied in various forms. It is to be understood that in some instances various aspects of the invention may be shown exaggerated or enlarged to facilitate an understanding of the invention.

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the invention.

FIG. 2 is a top plan view of the invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Detailed descriptions of the preferred embodiment are provided herein. It is to be understood, however, that the present invention may be embodied in various forms. Therefore, specific details disclosed herein are not to be interpreted as limiting, but rather as a basis for the claims and as a representative basis for teaching one skilled in the art to employ the present invention in virtually any appropriately detailed system, structure or manner.

Referring now to FIG. 1 we see a perspective view of the bottle shaped fire pit of the present invention. The fire pit is comprised of a lower dish member 50 which side walls 52 that are screened 32 with heat resistant metallic mesh. The side walls are fixedly attached to the dish 50 at the lower end and a bottle neck shaped chimney 28 at the top end. A bottle cap member 30 is located at the uppermost portion of the assembly the totality of which forms a beverage bottle shaped housing 26. A hinged 36 door member 32 can be opened with handle 38 and forms one side of the bottle shaped side wall. Legs 10 hold the dish member 50 and attached bottle shaped member 26 off the ground.

In one embodiment a metallic label 34 is attached to the screened portion 32 to help complete the beverage bottle look. The label also helps make the entire fire pit assembly work as an ad specialty item.

In the embodiment shown here in Figure one, a plurality of arms 6 extend radially out from the upper portion of the dish 50. The arms 6 have extension members 4 which are in turn attached to vertical support posts 12 which terminate at the top in a table member 2 and at the bottom in a base plate 14. In the present embodiment, three table assemblies 20, 22, 24 are shown. The tables make it convenient to hold food and beverages while congregating around the fire pit.

The arms 6 are removably attached at joint 40 in a standard way, so that the arms can be removed for compact shipping and storage purposes.

FIG. 2 is a top plan view of the invention clearly showing the relationship of the support arms 6, 4 and table assemblies 20, 22, 24.

While the invention has been described in connection with a preferred embodiment, it is not intended to limit the scope of the invention to the particular form set forth, but on the contrary, it is intended to cover such alternatives, modifications, and equivalents as may be included within the spirit and scope of the invention as defined by the appended claims.
