Combined plush pillow and plush toy figure

A plush pillow is attached to a plush toy figure for housing the plush toy figure within the pillow. The plush pillow has a hollow interior and a pillow opening on one side thereof for access to the hollow pillow interior. A movable flap section is attached to one side of the pillow opening, and the flap section is movable between a first closed position for covering the pillow opening and a second open position for uncovering the pillow opening. A zipper is disposed around the periphery of the pillow opening to open and close the flap section. The plush toy figure is attached to at least one side of the pillow opening, and the plush toy figure is also attached to the flap section. The plush toy figure is movable between a first closed position wherein the plush toy figure is housed within the hollow interior of the plush pillow and is covered by the flap section being in the first closed position, and a second open position wherein the plush toy figure extends out through the pillow opening to be disposed outside of the plush pillow, wherein the flap section is in the second open position. In addition, the plush pillow may be inserted into the back of the plush toy figure, after the plush toy figure has been removed from the plush pillow.

Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a plush pillow attached to a plush toy figure for housing the plush toy figure within the pillow, and for removing the plush toy figure from the interior of the pillow, and for inserting the plush pillow into the back of the plush toy figure, after the plush toy figure has been removed from the plush pillow.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The prior art discloses pillows having an interior for storing blankets. However, the prior art does not disclose plush pillows for children which houses and encloses plush toy figures attached to the pillow, so that the child can play with the plush toy figure by removing it from the pillow, while maintaining the plush toy figure attached to the pillow. After playing with the plush toy figure, the child returns it to the interior of the pillow, and closes the opening.

OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION

It is an object of the present invention to provide a child with a plush pillow, which can be in the shape of a home, which is attached to a plush toy figure, which can be in the shape of a doll to play with.

It is another object of the present invention to provide a child with a plush toy figure which can be played with when it is removed from the interior of the plush pillow, and which can be returned to the interior of the pillow after the child plays with it.

It is another object of the present invention to provide a child with a plush pillow having an easy-to-use zippered opening through which the plush toy figure can be inserted into the plush pillow and removed from it.

It is another object of the present invention to provide a child with a plush toy figure and plush pillow and for inserting the plush pillow into the back of the plush toy figure, after the plush toy figure has been removed from the plush pillow.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention provides a plush pillow which is attached to a plush toy figure for housing the plush toy figure within the pillow. The plush pillow has a hollow interior and a pillow opening on one side thereof for access to the hollow pillow interior. A movable flap section is attached to one side of the pillow opening, and the flap section is movable between a first closed position for covering the pillow opening and a second open position for uncovering the pillow opening. A zipper is disposed around the periphery of the pillow opening to open and close the flap section. The plush toy figure is attached to at least one side of the pillow opening, and the plush toy figure is also attached to the flap section. The plush toy figure is movable by the child to a first closed position wherein the plush toy figure is housed within the hollow interior of the plush pillow and is covered by using the zipper to close the flap section to place it in the first closed position. The plush toy figure is also movable to a second open position by opening the zipper of the flap section so that the plush toy figure extends out through the pillow opening to be disposed outside of the interior of the plush pillow, so that the child can play with the plush toy figure. In addition, the plush pillow may be inserted into the back of the plush toy figure, after the plush toy figure has been removed from the plush pillow.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

A plush pillow 10 is attached to a plush toy figure 40 for receiving and housing the plush toy figure 40 within the pillow 10. The plush pillow 10 has a hollow interior 12 and a pillow opening 14 on one side thereof for access to the hollow pillow interior 12. A movable flap section 20 is attached to the bottom side 22 of the pillow opening 14, and the flap section 20 is movable between a first closed position 24 for covering and closing the pillow opening 14, and a second open position 26 for opening and uncovering the pillow opening 14. A zipper 28 is disposed around the periphery of pillow opening 14 to open and close flap section 20, to allow the plush toy figure to be removed from the interior 12, or to be returned to the interior 12 of the pillow 10.

The plush toy figure 40 is attached to three sides 42 of the pillow opening 14, and the plush toy figure 40 is also attached to one side of the flap section 20. The plush toy figure 40 is movable to a first closed position 44 wherein the plush toy figure 40 is housed within the hollow interior 12 of the plush pillow 10 and is covered by using the zipper 28 to close the flap section 20 to place it in its first closed position 24. The plush toy figure 40 is also movable to a second open position by opening the zipper 28 of the flap section 20 so that the plush toy figure extends out through the pillow opening 14 to be disposed outside of the interior of the plush pillow 10, so that the child can play with the plush toy figure 40.

In addition, the plush pillow 10 may be inserted into the back 48 of the plush toy figure 40, after the plush toy figure 40 has been removed from the plush pillow 10.

In this manner, the child can play with the plush toy figure 40, and then return it to the pillow interior 12 and close the flap section 20 by closing the zipper 28.

Operation of the Present Invention

In one embodiment, the plush pillow 10 is in the shape of a home 50, and the flap section 20 is in the shape of a door 52 which can be opened and closed by the zipper 28. In this embodiment, the plush toy figure 40 is in the shape of a doll 60 having a head 62, a body 64, arms 66 and 68, and legs 70 and 72, which all fit within the interior of the home 50. The doll 60, and all of these parts, are removable from the interior of the home 50, for the child to play with, and then return the doll 60 to its home 50.

In addition, while playing, the plush pillow 10 may be inserted by the child into the back 48 of the plush toy figure 40, after the plush toy figure 40 has been removed from the plush pillow 10. After the child has finished playing, the child can then return the doll 60 to its home 50.

Advantages of the Present Invention

One advantage of the present invention is to provide a child with a plush pillow, which can be in the shape of a home, which is attached to a plush toy figure, which can be in the shape of a doll to play with.

Another advantage of the present invention is to provide a child with a plush toy figure which can be played with when it is removed from the interior of the plush pillow, and which can be returned to the interior of the pillow after the child plays with it.

Another advantage of the present invention is to provide a child with a plush pillow having an easy-to-use zippered opening through which the plush toy figure can be inserted into the plush pillow and removed from it.

Another advantage of the present invention is to provide a child with a plush toy figure and plush pillow, and for inserting the plush pillow into the back of the plush toy figure, after the plush toy figure has been removed from the plush pillow.

A latitude of modification, change and substitution is intended in the foregoing disclosure, and in some instances, some features of the invention will be employed without a corresponding use of other features. Accordingly, it is appropriate that the appended claims be construed broadly and in a manner consistent with the spirit and scope of the invention herein.

Claims

1) A combined plush pillow attached to a plush toy figure for housing said plush toy figure within said pillow, comprising:

a) a plush pillow having a hollow interior and a pillow opening on one side thereof for access to said hollow pillow interior;
b) a movable flap section attached to one side of said pillow opening, said flap section being movable between a first closed position covering said pillow opening and a second open position uncovering said pillow opening;
c) a plush toy figure attached to at least one side of said pillow opening; said plush toy figure also being attached to said flap section; and
d) said plush toy figure being movable between a first closed position wherein said plush toy figure is housed within said hollow interior of said plush pillow and is covered by said flap section being in said first closed position, and a second open position wherein said plush toy figure extends out through said pillow opening to be disposed outside of said plush pillow, wherein said flap section is in said second open position.

2) A combined pillow and plush toy figure in accordance with claim 1, further including a zipper on said flap section and on said pillow opening for opening and closing said flap section.

3) A combined pillow and plush toy figure in accordance with claim 1, wherein said plush pillow is in the shape of a house, said flap section is in the shape of a door for said house, and said plush toy figure is in the shape of a doll having a head, a body section, arms, and legs, which all fit within the interior of said plush pillow, and are movable through said flap section.

4) A combined pillow and plush toy figure in accordance with claim 1, wherein the back of said plush toy figure is attached to three sides of said pillow opening and is also attached to said flap section, so that the plush toy figure is movable through said pillow opening into and out of the hollow interior of said plush pillow.

5) A combined pillow and plush toy figure in accordance with claim 1, wherein the plush pillow may be inserted into the back of the plush toy figure, after the plush toy figure has been removed from the plush pillow.
