Abstract

This is a combination toothbrush/toothpaste device that combines pre-pasted bristles and or preloaded or reloadable containers that combine to complete a teeth cleaning device and by means of compressed air, mechanical means or gravity can apply paste to the bristles completing a single unit apparatus that eliminates the need for the separate act of applying toothpaste as is done with conventional systems. This adaptation pertains to manual and electric teeth brushing systems including professional dental cleaning devices that require application of paste as a separate act.

BACKGROUND

This device is born of convenience, sanitation and is green driven. It eliminates unnecessary steps in the use of dental hygiene devices thus saving time and eliminating excessive contamination.

BRIEF SUMMARY

The convenience aspect of this application applies to the one entity concept whereas the device is self contained eliminating at least one component needed to effect the intended use for cleaning teeth and in some instances eliminating at least two components necessary to effect the devices intended use, allowing for a smaller area needed for storage in packing, camping, professional or military application. In the area of sanitation, the elimination of handling fewer components that are passed through the hands of multiple users could possibly result in a significant reduction in the passing of germs. With regard to the green concept, the initial use of the self contained device eliminates one or more containers that might otherwise contaminate the environment and also allows for reuse and or proper disposal of the worn or expended component of a combination manual or electric device, on a lesser scale than currently exists with conventional systems.

DESCRIPTION

The combination toothbrush/toothpaste utility is a conventional style toothbrush; manual or electric, that contains reconstituted (process dried) toothpaste integrated into its bristles that on contact with water or saliva will return to its original form when agitated as in the act of brushing teeth, performing its intended function of cleaning the surface of the teeth. After its first use, it may be saved and re-used conventionally or may be replaced with another bristle head as part of the removable/replaceable system or the combination toothbrush/toothpaste device is a conventional style toothbrush; manual or electric, that incorporates a mechanical device that when operated applies or injects paste stored on or in some part of the apparatus onto the bristles of the brush or is self contained with brush and paste in a manner as herein described:

1. The toothpaste is loaded, stored and then injected from a place in the uniform body of the complete apparatus utilizing a mechanical device such as but not limited to a plunger or syringe or any other device utilizing pressure applied to the paste causing it to surface at the bristle end of the brush.

2. The toothpaste is stored and injected from a place in the uniform body of the complete apparatus utilizing a trigger that mechanically moves a plunger forcing the paste to surface at the bristle end of the brush.

3. A container of toothpaste of specified design is attached to the uniform body of the complete apparatus and is forced to the bristle end of the brush by squeezing the container.

4. A removable bristle is attached to a replaceable container of toothpaste that then receives the paste through one of the manners as described above, thus allowing for replacement of the bristle only.

5. A refillable container is attached to the bristle end of the apparatus which applies the paste in a manner as described above.

6. The combination toothbrush/toothpaste device has a personal single use application of processed paste applied to the bristles that reacts desirably to saliva when agitated as in the act of brushing teeth. This brush can then be stored and reused conventionally or the used bristle end can be replaced with a new processed bristle or disposed of for recycling in a manner to be described by the manufacturer through labeling.

7. The bristle end of the brush with pre applied paste can be inserted into the handle of the brush and then disposed of in a manner prescribed by the manufacturer.

• • (a) The handle, head and bristles can be of normally accepted material and style in manufacturing and are not considered as a part of the patent of this utility.
  • (b) The method of which the toothpaste is processed, reconstituted and or becomes pre applied or integrated into the bristles is also not a part of the intention of this patent but the act of producing for distribution any utility that contains integrated paste in any form and that does not require manual application from a separate container onto the bristles of the instrument, will be in violation of this patent.
  • (d) Any device that uses the aforementioned bodies or attachments as a means of storage with the intention of mechanically injecting paste or as a self contained apparatus combining the brush and toothpaste as one is in violation of this patent.
  • (c) Any form of attachment to a teeth brushing device that integrates the toothpaste for normal use or becomes a part of the toothbrush for storage is in violation of this patent.
  • (d) Storing, packaging or transportation methods of this apparatus or its parts are also not a consideration of this application for patent.

Claims

I. The scope of this claim is of a pre pasted bristle that can be inserted into a handle thus completing a teeth brushing device that can function as intended, which is cleaning the surface of the teeth without the separate act of applying toothpaste from a separate container.

II. The scope of this claim is of a single unit combination toothpaste/teeth brushing device that that uses any sort of mechanical function, gravity or compressed air to force by pressure or attraction pre loaded toothpaste that surfaces at the bristles of the brush thus functioning as intended, to clean the surface of the teeth.

III. The scope of this claim is of a preloaded container of toothpaste that connects with a bristle end thus resulting in a teeth brushing device that is self contained and by squeezing, mechanical means or by gravity or compressed air, supplies the paste to the attached bristles so that the combination allows for its intended use which is cleaning the surface of the teeth.

IV. The scope of this claim is of a preloaded container of toothpaste that attaches to any part of the body of an electric toothbrush and by squeezing or other mechanical means including gravity or compressed air, applies toothpaste to the bristles of the device thus completing the appliance that can then be used as intended; for cleaning the surface of the teeth.

V. The scope of this claim is of a combination toothbrush/toothpaste device that is self contained and reloadable and by the act of squeezing or some other mechanical means as well as gravity or compressed air, supplies paste to the bristles of the device thus eliminating the need for the separate act of applying toothpaste with each intended use, which is cleaning the surface of the teeth.
