Multi chambered recycling bag

A multi-chambered trash/recycling bag for use in a large public stadium such as a professional sports arena. Bag is stretched over and around the bottom of the seat thereby suspending it under the seat. Bag has more than one chamber where one separates their trash from their recyclable garbage. Bag has a perforation in between chambers for easy separation of the multi chambers when disposing of the trash and recyclables to its larger proper container when filled or after the event. A coupon tag allows for an advertiser to attach a coupon that a person can tear off and take with them.

This application claims priority to provisional patent application no. 61/336,343 filed Jan. 21, 2010

TECHNICAL FIELD

This invention relates to the field of the separation of public garbage for recycling of it.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Currently in order to separate garbage from an arena after an event the arena has to physically separate the waste by hand going through every single bag of garbage. This method is extremely costly, dangerous as you never know what is in the garbage bags as the workers are sticking their hand in it and very unhealthy as there can be millions of different bacteria, disease and germs depending on the temperate and how long it has been sitting. Furthermore most of the garbage from the actual stadium where the fans are watching the event put the garbage “under” their seat. When exiting the event hardly any of them care to pick up the now nasty garbage and properly dispose of it, so it is left for the clean up crew. This open garbage of food and waste is a major problem as it attracts rodents, bugs and if it is a windy day will blow throughout the facility and possible into the public area outside the stadium. Many public facilities that are used for sporting events and large gatherings of the public are pursuing a certification called LEEDS by the United States Green Building Council. This certification states that your facility is in compliance with a number of regulations with regards to the environment. To stay compliant with the LEEDS certification you must separate and recycle your garbage.

The present invention is provided to solve the problems discussed above and other problems, and to provide advantages and aspects not provided by prior separation methods and products. A full discussion of the features and advantages of the present invention is deferred to the following detailed description, which proceeds with reference to the accompanying drawings.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention solves all the problems of the prior method by making available to the fan a unique multi chambered trash/recycling bag that hangs under their stadium seat. The fan can now place their garbage in its proper chamber thereby separating the waste for the stadium.

In another embodiment the chambered bag has a slot horizontally across the top to allow it to be attached via stretching the slot over the seat base of a chair and thereby suspending it under the seat.

In an embodiment the chambered bag as 2 or more chambers for different types of waste.

In an embodiment the multi chambered bag has a perforation in between the chambers for tearing apart and separating the different types of waste.

In an embodiment the chambered bag has separate openings to enter your different types of waste.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

While this invention is susceptible of embodiments in many different forms, there is shown in the drawings and will herein be described in detail preferred embodiments of the invention with the understanding that the present disclosure is to be considered as an exemplification of the principles of the invention and is not intended to limit the broad aspect of the invention to the embodiments illustrated.

As illustrated in FIG. 1, in one embodiment of the present invention a 2 chamber plastic bag or sack 100 possibly being made of a biodegradable or recycled composition is formed by a series of rolling, folding, slitting and heat sealing of sheet plastic. Other methods of manufacturing the bag include an electrical pulse to seal first and second sides together. The bag 100 comprises 2 110 or more 120 chambers to allow for the holding of trash, waste and recyclables. A slit or oval slot 105 is formed horizontally across the top portion allowing for the bag 100 to be slid over the stadium seat 130 or seat back. Pleats in the bag 140 allow for expansion as the bag gets filled with trash and recyclables. A coupon tag 150 can also be attached for a fan to remove from bag and leave with. Other means of attaching the bag 100 to the stadium seat may include adhesives, hook and loop, and wicketing.

As illustrated in FIG. 2, in accordance with one or more embodiments of the present invention, shows the bag 100 now attached via the base of the seat and hanging under the stadium seat base 130. A horizontal opening 210 is cut across the upper portion of the bag off center to allow the trash to enter the trash chamber. Another horizontal opening 220 is cut across the upper portion of the bag off center opposite slot 210 to allow the recyclables to enter the recyclable chamber. Other openings may be provided in the bag such as ventilating.

As illustrated in FIG. 3, in accordance with one or more embodiments of the present invention, shows the bag 100 being separated via the vertical perforation 310. The perforation allows for easy separation of the trash and recyclables when done using the bag 100. In an alternate embodiment a horizontal perforation may be provided.

As illustrated in FIG. 4, in accordance with one or more embodiments of the present invention, shows the bag 100 now separated into 2 individual chambered bags. The bags may be marked with indicia to identify the first bag as being for recycling and the second bag being for receiving litter or food waste, or cans or plastic. The bag may include a prominent surface for placing advertisement indicia. Chamber 110 and chamber 120 are now ready to be properly disposed of in either a trash container 410 or a recyclable container 420. In an alternate embodiment a three chamber bag may provide for further separation of either trash or recycling material or returnable items to the facility.

While the specific embodiments have been illustrated and described, numerous modifications come to mind without significantly departing from the spirit of the invention and the scope of protection is only limited by the scope of the accompanying Claims.

Claims

1. A disposable recycling bag comprising:

a first bag including a chamber having a first opening for receiving a first type of waste;
a second bag including chamber having a second opening for receiving a second type of waste;
the first bag attached to the second bag via a perforated strip in order to form multi-chambered sack; and
a hanging member attached to the sack for hanging the sack from a seat.

2. The bag of claim 1 further comprising a coupon attached to the sack for a person take with them.

3. The bag of claim 1 wherein the perforated strip is oriented vertically on the sack.

4. The bag of claim 1 wherein the hanging member includes a slot formed in the top of the sack for sliding over a seat or seat back.

5. The bag of claim 1 wherein the first bag having a first indicia to identify a first type of waste to be received and the second bag having a second indicia to identify a second type of waste.

6. The bag of claim 5 wherein the first waste is a recyclable.

7. The bag of claim 1 wherein the sack includes expandable pleats.

8. The bag of claim 1 wherein the first opening is transverse to the perforated strip.

9. The bag of claim 1 wherein the sack provides a prominent surface for placement of advertisement indicia.
