BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

This invention relates generally to the field of commercial flat roofing and more specifically to a machine for installing commercial steel flat roof decking from the inside of a structure, for repair of old sagging, rusted decking and to patch holes in roofs. The technology was designed to remedy a problem of a rusted sagging steel flat roof decking that was underneath a large rooftop mechanical device that would have been extremely expensive to remove and re-install for repair of the roof. the bracket allowed me to install new decking from inside the building underneath the large mechanical device in a fraction of the time at a fraction of the cost to remove the decking from the roof top. not only does it allow you to repair the deck it also will raise the heavy mechanical device to original position or higher if needed.

prior technology for repair of a sagging rusted roof underneath a large rooftop mechanical device would consist of removing the rooftop mechanical device, removing the outer roof membrane to expose the rusted sagging steel decking then replacing the deck with new decking and then reinstalling the roofing membrane and mechanical device.
the prior technology is expensive time consuming material wasting and cannot be performed in cold or rainy weather

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The primary object of the invention is To provide a product and procedure for contractors to install flat roof decking from the inside of the building.

Another object of the invention is To provide a quicker less expensive way to raise and replace flat roof decking.

Another object of the invention is To provide a way to install flat roof decking without disturbing the exterior roofing material.

A further object of the invention is To provide a way to install flat roof decking without having to remove heavy mechanical devices permanently installed on the roof top.

Yet another object of the invention is To provide a product to raise heavy mechanical rooftop devices from the inside of a building.

Still yet another object of the invention is To provide a easy quick fix way to repair rusted sagging flat roof decking.

Another object of the invention is To provide a product that can raise a flat roof to remove water pooling.

Another object of the invention is To provide a way to install roof decking in adverse weather conditions.

Another object of the invention is To provide a way to patch holes in roof decking.

Other objects and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following descriptions, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, wherein, by way of illustration and example, an embodiment of the present invention is disclosed.

In accordance with a preferred embodiment of the invention, there is disclosed a machine for installing commercial steel flat roof decking from the inside of a structure, for repair of old sagging, rusted decking and to patch holes in roofs. comprising: a steel joist bracket that extends the upper cord out to hold up new roof decking by clamping new angel iron in the clamps of the bracket, and a steel joist bracket that extends the upper cord out to install new decking while distributing the weight into the original joist.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram illustrating the operation of the invention.

FIG. 2 is a top perspective view of the invention.

FIG. 3 is a bottom perspective view of the invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Detailed descriptions of the preferred embodiment are provided herein. It is to be understood, however, that the present invention may be embodied in various forms. Therefore, specific details disclosed herein are not to be interpreted as limiting, but rather as a basis for the claims and as a representative basis for teaching one skilled in the art to employ the present invention in virtually any appropriately detailed system, structure or manner.

This invention relates generally to the field of commercial flat roofing and more specifically to a machine for installing commercial steel flat roof decking from the inside of a structure, for repair of old sagging, rusted decking and to patch holes in roofs.

Turning first to FIG. 1 there is shown a lock plate (1) which is placed on top of a structures joists upper cord with the tabs facing down and set in between the upper cords angle iron. There is shown a threaded rod (2) which is inserted from the underside of the joists upper cord and then screwed into the lockplate lock nut (3) and tightened until the threaded rod protrudes a few threads through the locknut (3). There is shown a U channel brace (4) that is slid over the threaded rod (2) and fastened to rod with a nut (5). There is shown a lock tab (6) that clamps the angle iron to the U channel bracket assembly by tightening the lock tab bolt (7). The angle iron extends the joists upper cords angel iron apart to allow new roof decking to be installed from the inside of a structure. The new decking is held in place by the new angle iron and pressed against old decking by tightening the nut (5) until the new deck panel seats tight against the old decking. There is shown 4 stabilizer bolts (8) used to level and lock the bracket solid into position as if it were part of the original joist.

While the invention has been described in connection with a preferred embodiment, it is not intended to limit the scope of the invention to the particular form set forth, but on the contrary, it is intended to cover such alternatives, modifications, and equivalents as may be included within the spirit and scope of the invention as defined by the appended claims.
