Article of clothing with securing members and cover

An article of clothing with a securing element and cover is provided, the article of clothing comprises a pair of articles, each article comprises a first layer situated adjacent an open end of the article and a second foldable layer, and at least one securing member, the second layer may be folded in one direction to thereby cover the securing member, and in another direction to thereby expose the securing member during a use position, and the securing members of the first and second article are connectable to one another.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

This invention relates to an article of clothing comprising a pair of articles of clothing, each article having open and closed ends, and first and second layers; and at least two securing members, each securing member is attached to at least a portion of the first layer of each of the articles, and the second layer of each of the article is folded to thereby cover the securing member during non-use, and the second layer is folded to thereby expose the securing member, and the securing members of each of the articles are connected to connect the pair of articles of clothing during washing, drying and storage.

2. Description of the Related Art

There are various socks that have devices for attaching the socks to one another during washing and drying process. Such devices are designed to prevent the loss of a sock and provide for the efficiency of not having to match of socks after drying.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In one embodiment, the present invention provides for a article of clothing comprising: a first and second article of clothing, each article comprises a closed end and an open end, each article comprises a first layer having a peripheral edge situated adjacent the open end of the article, the first layer of each of the articles comprising at one securing member, each article comprising a second foldable layer, the second layer is folded towards the peripheral edge of the first layer during a non-use position to thereby cover the securing member and at least a portion of the first layer, the second layer is folded away from the peripheral edge of the first layer thereby exposing the securing member during a use position, the securing members of the first and second article being connectable to one another.

In another embodiment, the first and second layers are woven to the article of clothing. In yet another embodiment, the article of clothing is selected from a group consisting essentially of stockings, socks, knee highs, peds, gloves and articles of clothing that are in pairs. In still another embodiment, the securing member is selected from a group consisting essentially of snaps, hook and loop fasteners, latches, buttons, hooks, straps and fasteners.

In still yet another embodiment, the second layer comprises a peripheral edge. In a further embodiment, the peripheral edge of the second layer is situated below the peripheral edge of the first layer during the non-use position. In another further embodiment, the peripheral edge of the second layer is parallel to the peripheral edge of the first layer during the non-use position.

In yet another further embodiment, the securing member of the first article being connected to the securing member of the second article to thereby attach the first and second article to one another.

In still another further embodiment, the present invention provides for an article of clothing comprising: a pair of articles of clothing, each article having open and closed ends, and first and second layers, the first layer being situated adjacent the open end of each of the articles; and at least two securing members, each securing member being attached to at least a portion of the first layer of each of the articles, the second layer of each of the article being folded toward the open end of the article to thereby cover the securing member and at least a portion of the first layer, the second layer being folded away from the open end of the article to thereby expose the securing member, the securing members of each of the article are connected to connect the pair of articles of clothing.

In yet another further embodiment, each of the first and second layers comprises a peripheral edge. In still yet another further embodiment, the peripheral edge of the second layer is situated below the peripheral edge of the first layer when the second layer is folded towards the open end of each of the articles. In another embodiment, the peripheral edge of the second layer is parallel to the peripheral edge of the first layer when the second layer is folded towards the open end of each of the articles.

In a further embodiment, the present invention relates to an article of clothing comprising: a first and second article of clothing, each article comprising a closed end and an open end, each article comprising a first layer situated adjacent the open end of the article and a second foldable layer, the second layer of each of the articles comprising at least one securing member, the second layer is folded towards the open end of the article during a non-use position to thereby cover the securing member and at least a portion of the first layer, the second layer is folded away from the open end of the article thereby exposing the securing member during a use position, the securing members of the first and second article being connectable to one another.

In another further embodiment, the first and second layers are woven to the article of clothing, and the second layer being situated on an external surface of the first layer.

In yet another further embodiment, each of the first and second layers comprise a peripheral edge, the peripheral edge of the second layer is situated below the peripheral edge of the first layer when the second layer is folded towards the open end of each of the articles.

In still another further embodiment, each of the first and second layers comprise a peripheral edge, the peripheral edge of the second layer is parallel to the peripheral edge of the first layer when the second layer is folded towards the open end of each of the articles.

In still yet another further embodiment, each of the first and second layers comprise a peripheral edge, the peripheral edge of the second layer is situated above the peripheral edge of the first layer when the second layer is folded towards the open end of each of the articles.

In another embodiment, the present invention provides for an article of clothing comprising: a first and second article of clothing, each article comprising a closed end and an open end, each article comprising a first layer situated adjacent the open end of the article and a second foldable layer, at least one securing member, the second layer is folded towards the closed end of the article during a non-use position to thereby cover the securing member, the second layer is folded away from the closed end of the article thereby exposing the securing member during a use position, the securing members of the first and second article being connectable to one another.

In yet another embodiment, the securing members are attached to the first layers of each of the first and second article of clothing.

FIG. 7 is a perspective view of FIG. 6 showing the securing member being covered by the second layer; and

FIG. 8 is a perspective view of another embodiment of the present invention in the form of a glove.

Among those benefits and improvements that have been disclosed, other objects and advantages of this invention will become apparent from the following description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. The drawings constitute a part of this specification and include exemplary embodiments of the present invention and illustrate various objects and features thereof.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

As required, detailed embodiments of the present invention are disclosed herein; however, it is to be understood that the disclosed embodiments are merely exemplary of the invention that may be embodied in various forms. The figures are not necessarily to scale, some features may be exaggerated to show details of particular components. Therefore, specific structural and functional details disclosed herein are not to be interpreted as limiting, but merely as a basis for the claims and as a representative basis for teaching one skilled in the art to variously employ the present invention.

FIGS. 1-3 illustrate an article of clothing, in particular, a sock 1 that comprises a closed end 2 and an open end 3, and each sock 1 comprises a first layer 4 having a peripheral edge 4a situated adjacent the open end 3 of the sock 1. The first layer 4 of each of the socks comprises at one securing member 6, and each sock 1 comprises a second foldable layer 5. As shown in FIG. 1, the second layer 5 is folded away from the peripheral edge 4a of the first layer 4 thereby exposing the securing member 6 during a use position. As shown in FIG. 2, the second layer 5 is folded towards the peripheral edge 4a of the first layer 4 during a non-use position to thereby cover the securing member 6 and at least a portion of the first layer 4. As shown in FIG. 3, the securing members 6 of the first and second article, 1a and 1b respectively, may be connected to one another.

FIGS. 4-5 show an article of clothing such as a sock 10, each comprising a closed end 12 and an open end 13, and each sock comprises a first layer 14 situated adjacent the open end 13 of the sock 10 and a second foldable layer 15. The second layer 15 of each of the articles comprises at least one securing member 16, and the second layer 15 is folded away from the open end 13 of the article 10 thereby exposing the securing member 16 during a use position (as shown in FIG. 4). The second layer 15 is folded towards the open end 13 of the article during a non-use position to thereby cover the securing member 16 and at least a portion of the first layer 14 (as shown in FIG. 5).

FIGS. 6-7 shows a sock 20 comprising a closed end 22 and an open end 23, each article 20 comprising a first layer 24 situated adjacent the open end 23 of the article 20 and a second foldable layer 25, at least one securing member 26, and the second layer 25 is folded towards the closed end 22 of the article 20 during a non-use position to thereby cover the securing member 26, and the second layer 25 is folded away from the closed end 22 of the article 20 thereby exposing the securing member 26 during a use position.

FIG. 8 illustrates a glove 40 with an open end 43 and a plurality of fingers 41. The gloves 40 comprises a first layer 44 situated adjacent the open end 43 of the article 40 and a second foldable layer 45, at least one securing member 46, and the second layer 45 is folded towards the open end 43 of the article 40 during a non-use position to thereby cover the securing member 46, and the second layer 45 is folded away from the open end 43 of the article 40 thereby exposing the securing member 46 during a use position.

Numerous modifications and variations of the present invention are possible in light of the above teachings. It is therefore to be understood that within the scope of the attendant claims attached hereto, this invention may be practiced otherwise than as specifically disclosed herein.

Claims

1. An article of clothing comprising:

a first and second article of clothing, each article comprising a closed end and an open end, each article comprising a first layer having a peripheral edge situated adjacent said open end of said article, said first layer of each of said articles comprising at one securing member, each article comprising a second foldable layer, said second layer is folded towards said peripheral edge of said first layer during a non-use position to thereby cover said securing member and at least a portion of said first layer, said second layer is folded away from said peripheral edge of said first layer thereby exposing said securing member during a use position, said securing members of said first and second article being connectable to one another.

2. The article of claim 1 wherein said first and second layers are woven to said article of clothing.

3. The article of claim 1 wherein said article of clothing is selected from a group consisting essentially of stockings, socks, knee highs, peds, gloves and articles of clothing that are in pairs.

4. The article of claim 1 wherein said securing member is selected from a group consisting essentially of snaps, buttons, hooks, (Velcro), list others.

5. The article of claim 1 wherein said second layer comprises a peripheral edge.

6. The article of claim 5 wherein said peripheral edge of said second layer is situated below said peripheral edge of said first layer during said non-use position.

7. The article of claim 5 wherein said peripheral edge of said second layer is parallel to said peripheral edge of said first layer during said non-use position.

8. The article of claim 1 wherein said securing member of said first article being connected to said securing member of said second article to thereby attach said first and second article to one another.

9. An article of clothing comprising:

a pair of articles of clothing, each article having open and closed ends, and first and second layers, said first layer being situated adjacent said open end of each of said articles; and
at least two securing members, each securing member being attached to at least a portion of said first layer of each of said articles, said second layer of each of said article being folded toward said open end of said article to thereby cover said securing member and at least a portion of said first layer, said second layer being folded away from said open end of said article to thereby expose said securing member, said securing members of each of said article are connected to connect said pair of articles of clothing.

10. The article of claim 9 wherein said first and second layers are woven to said article of clothing.

11. The article of claim 9 wherein said article of clothing is selected from a group consisting essentially of stockings, socks, knee highs, peds, gloves and articles of clothing that are in pairs.

12. The article of claim 9 wherein said securing member is selected from a group consisting essentially of snaps, hook and loop fasteners, buttons, hooks, straps and fasteners.

13. The article of claim 9 wherein each of said first and second layers comprises a peripheral edge.

14. The article of claim 13 wherein said peripheral edge of said second layer is situated below said peripheral edge of said first layer when said second layer is folded towards said open end of each of said articles.

15. The article of claim 13 wherein said peripheral edge of said second layer is parallel to said peripheral edge of said first layer when said second layer is folded towards said open end of each of said articles.

16. An article of clothing comprising:

a first and second article of clothing, each article comprising a closed end and an open end, each article comprising a first layer situated adjacent said open end of said article and a second foldable layer, said second layer of each of said articles comprising at least one securing member, said second layer is folded towards said open end of said article during a non-use position to thereby cover said securing member and at least a portion of said first layer, said second layer is folded away from said open end of said article thereby exposing said securing member during a use position, said securing members of said first and second article being connectable to one another.

17. The article of claim 16 wherein said first and second layers are woven to the article of clothing, said second layer being situated on an external surface of said first layer.

18. The article of claim 16 wherein said securing member is selected from a group consisting essentially of snaps, hook and loop fasteners, buttons, hooks, straps and fasteners.

19. The article of claim 16 wherein each of said first and second layers comprises a peripheral edge, said peripheral edge of said second layer is situated below said peripheral edge of said first layer when said second layer is folded towards said open end of each of said articles.

20. The article of claim 16 wherein each of said first and second layers comprises a peripheral edge, said peripheral edge of said second layer is parallel to said peripheral edge of said first layer when said second layer is folded towards said open end of each of said articles.

21. The article of claim 16 wherein each of said first and second layers comprises a peripheral edge, said peripheral edge of said second layer is situated above said peripheral edge of said first layer when said second layer is folded towards said open end of each of said articles.

22. An article of clothing comprising:

a first and second article of clothing, each article comprising a closed end and an open end, each article comprising a first layer situated adjacent said open end of said article and a second foldable layer, at least one securing member, said second layer is folded towards said closed end of said article during a non-use position to thereby cover said securing member, said second layer is folded away from said closed end of said article thereby exposing said securing member during a use position, said securing members of said first and second article being connectable to one another.

23. The article of claim 22 wherein said securing members are attached to said first layers of each of said first and second article of clothing.

24. The article of claim 22 wherein said article of clothing is selected from a group consisting essentially of stockings, socks, knee highs, peds, gloves and articles of clothing that are in pairs.

25. The article of claim 22 wherein said securing member is selected from a group consisting essentially of snaps, hook and loop fasteners, buttons, hooks, straps and fasteners.
