Toe healing corrective shoe

This invention is a departure from typical shoe design by reducing the sole thickness from the leading edge of the sole to the vicinity of the last joint of the toes. This design transfers a large part of walking type forces from the toes to the main pad of the foot. Since the change in footwear was made to hard soles the toes have taken on an increased load. This causes a great amount of trauma to the toes in many cases. This design will remedy that if used properly. The healing ability of this design has been proven on toes that had been bleeding for decades, the change healed the toes completely. The present treatment for toe problems is to make them immobile with casts or other disabling system and possible surgery. The toe healing corrective shoe allows normal walking activities while healing.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

When soft flexible footwear developed into hard soled shoes hundreds of years ago, the toes had to sustain more of the foot pressure. This caused many painful sometimes fatal outcomes. The problems included calluses, ulcers, lesions, gout, hammertoes and turftoe.

This invention redistributes some of the forces from the toes to stronger areas which allows healing or protects the toes from injury.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The main idea is to shift some of the load from the toes to the main pad of the foot by contacting a surface earlier at the main pad. This will prevent or heal most of the problems mentioned in the background information.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWING

Only one drawing that shows the toe healing corrective shoe as it makes contact with a surface.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION

The drawing shows the principle involved to prevent or heal painful or fatal problems with the toes.

The actual size and configuration of the relieved area 1 may vary with doctors and patients. The load 2 on the toes is reduced and the load reduction is transferred to area 3 due to it's earlier contact with the surface engaged. The increased load is then on the main support of the foot allowing the toes to heal or remain uninjured.

This design allows healing with normal walking activities and caused no discomfort in tests. The change in footwear appearance is not usually noticed. In most cases the present methods of making the foot totally immobile would no longer be required to heal the toes.

Claims

1. Footwear designed to be toe healing or injury preventing by reducing the sole thickness abruptly under the toe area of the shoe.

2. Footwear with the sole made thinner under the toe area.
