Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a lid, especially to a lid with a container capable of storing things.

2. Description of the Prior Arts

More and more shops sell beverages like coffee. Besides traditional coffee shops or cafés, fast food restaurants and convenience stores now also sell coffee. The most common container for those shops to sell take-out coffee is a cup.

Nowadays, to increase the efficiency of making coffee, packed seasonings like sugar or dairy products like coffee cream are available in many shops, so that the customers can add them in coffee by themselves. If the customers are not to enjoy the coffee right upon purchase, the customers do not immediately add the packed seasonings into coffee. Therefore, the customers have to find some place to store those packed seasonings, such as in pockets or bags.

However, the customer may have no pockets or bags, or may have a full pocket or a full bag. Thus, finding a place to store those packed seasonings becomes inconvenient to the customers.

To overcome the shortcomings, the present invention provides a lid with a container to mitigate or obviate the aforementioned problems.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The main objective of the present invention is to provide a lid with a container that is convenient to carry small things.

The lid with a container in accordance with the present invention has a cover and a container. The container is attached securely to an outer side of the cover, and the container has an inner cavity and a top opening. With the container attached to the cover, the customers can put the packed seasonings like sugar, coffee cream or even cookies in the container.

Other objectives, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a first embodiment of a lid with a container in accordance with the present invention;

FIG. 2 is an enlarged side view in partial section of the lid with a container in FIG. 1; and

FIG. 3 is a perspective view of a second embodiment of a lid with a container in accordance with the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

With reference to FIG. 1, a lid with a container in accordance with the present invention comprises a cover 10, a container 20 and a straw 30.

With reference to FIGS. 1 and 2, the cover 10 has a straw hole 11 formed through the cover 10, and an engaging part 12 having two sidewalls formed on the cover 10.

The container 20 is attached securely to a bottom side of the cover 10 and has an inner cavity and a top opening 21. A top edge beside the opening 21 of the container 20 is attached securely to an outer side of the cover 10. In a preferred embodiment, the container 20 and the cover 10 are formed integratedly and formed by plastic injection molding.

The straw 30 protrudes into the straw hole 11 of the cover 10, and has an annular flange 31 and a hose part 32. The annular flange 31 is formed around an outside wall of the straw 30. The hose part 32 is formed above the annular flange 31. A narrow gap is formed between the annular flange 31 and the hose part 32. An annular edge around the straw hole 11 is clamped between the annular flange 31 and the hose part 32. The hose part 32 bends and a top end of the straw 30 engages the two sidewalls of the engaging part 12 of the cover 10.

When the lid with a container as described is in use, the cover 10 is overlaid on a suitable cup 40. With the container 20 attached to the cover 10, the users put the packed seasonings like sugar, coffee cream or even cookies in the container 20.

Furthermore, because the annular edge around the straw hole 11 is clamped between the annular flange 31 and the hose part 32, the straw 30 is connected stably to the cover 10. To install the straw 30, the straw 30 protrudes upward into the straw hole 11 of the cover 10. Because the hose part 32 is flexible, the hose part 32 passes through the straw hole 11 by being slightly pressed. When the whole hose part 32 passes through the straw hole 11, the annular flange 31 abuts upward against the annular edge around the straw hole 11. Then the annular edge around the straw hole 11 is clamped between the annular flange 31 and the hose part 32, and the straw 30 is connected stably to the cover 10.

Besides, the engaging part 12 of the cover 10 allows the top end of the straw 30 to engage, so the straw 30 can be further fixed to the cover 10.

In another preferred embodiment as shown in FIG. 3, the container 20A has a first sidewall 22A, two second sidewalls 23A, a third sidewall 24A and a closed bottom. The first sidewall 22A is attached to the cover 10A. The second sidewalls 23A are attached oppositely to the first sidewall 22A. Each second sidewall 23A has at least one crease 25A formed on the second sidewall 23A. The third sidewall 24A is formed between the second sidewalls 23A. The closed bottom has at least one crease 25A formed on the closed bottom. Thus, the container 20A can be pressed to become flat when not used and further saves space.

In another preferred embodiment, the container is glued securely to the cover.

In another preferred embodiment, the present invention has no straw, and the cover has no straw hole. The cover has a drinking opening for user to drink the water or the beverage in the cup.

In another preferred embodiment, the present invention has no straw, and the cover has no straw hole. After separating the cover from the cup, the user can drink the water or beverage in the cup.

Even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present invention have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and features of the invention, the disclosure is illustrative only. Changes may be made in the details, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.
