HEALTH BICYCLE WITH ARM EXERCISE FUNCTION

Provided is a health bicycle with a lower body exercise function by means of pedals and an arm exercise function as a user rotates handles. The present invention comprises a frame part F which includes a first frame F1 at a backside of which a seat F12 is engaged, and a second frame F2 which is rotatably hinged by means of a hinge shaft F3 and at an upper side of which a monitor F4 is formed; a lower body exercise means L which is engaged at a lower side of the first frame F1 and generates an exercise load so that a user steps on it and rotates it for thereby exercising a muscular strength of a lower body of the user; and an arm exercise means H which is installed at an upper side of the second frame F2 and generates an exercise load so that a user holds it and rotates it for thereby exercising arms.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a health bicycle with an arm exercise function, and in particular to a health bicycle with an arm exercise function which makes it possible to perform an arm exercise in such a way to rotate a handle along with a lower body exercise by making use of a pedaling operation.

Generally speaking, a health bicycle is directed to an exercise instrument designed to resolve the lack of exercises in terms of a modern person in such a way that a loading force obtained during the pedaling of a bicycle is utilized in a form of calorie consumption by means of exercises.

A conventional health bicycle comprises a saddle, a handle, lower pedals, a drum operating in sync with the pedals, a load generating apparatus designed to generate exercise load in such a way to raise or lower a rotation speed of the drum, and a control panel which controls the operations of the load generating apparatus.

As an exerciser rotates the drum by stepping on the pedals, and the rotation speed of the drum can be determined by giving a proper load to the drum, so the exerciser can perform exercise.

The conventional health bicycle is disadvantageous because it is focused on the muscular strength of a lower body by making use of the pedals.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Accordingly, the present invention is made to resolve the problems encountered in the conventional art. It is an object of the present invention to provide a health bicycle with an arm exercise function which is characterized in that the muscular strength exercises of upper and lower bodies including arms and shoulder can be concurrently performed in such a way to rotate the hands held by both hands in the opposite directions or to rotate them in the same direction.

To achieve the above objects, there is provided a health bicycle with an arm exercise function, comprising a frame part which includes a first frame at a backside of which a seat is engaged, and a second frame which is rotatably hinged by means of a hinge shaft and at an upper side of which a monitor is formed; a lower body exercise means which is engaged at a lower side of the first frame and generates an exercise load so that a user steps on it and rotates it for thereby exercising a muscular strength of a lower body of the user; and an arm exercise means which is installed at an upper side of the second frame and generates an exercise load so that a user holds it and rotates it for thereby exercising arms.

The frame part further comprises an angle adjusting part which serves to adjust the folding angles of the first and second frames of the frame part, and the angle adjusting part comprises an adjusting piece which is protruded from an upper side of the second frame and has a plurality of fixing holes; and a support pin which is engaged to the adjusting piece, with the lower side of the first frame coming into close contact with the support pin.

The lower body exercise means comprises a casing which is engaged at a lower side of the first frame; first and second drum wheels which are installed spaced apart from each other at a certain distance in the casing; a center shaft which is engaged at the center of the first drum wheel; a pedal shaft which is installed at both ends of the center shaft to be opposite to each other, with pedals being engaged at the pedal shaft; and a braking part which is installed in the vicinity of the second drum wheel and serves to decelerate the rotation speed by means of a connection or disconnection operation.

The braking part comprises a brake pad which comes into contact with both outer sides of the second drum wheel; and a plurality of magnetic parts which are embedded in the lateral side of the brake pad.

The seat is installed in such a way that an angle can be adjusted so as to maintain a horizontal state at all the time as the angles of the first and second seats change.

The arm exercise means H comprises a third frame at one end portion of which a hinge part rotatably hinge-engaged with the second frame is formed; an angle adjusting plate which is formed at the second frame for thereby selectively adjusting a fixing angle of the third frame; a housing which is formed at the third frame and has a space in its inside; first and second drums which are rotatably engaged in the interior of the housing and are installed spaced apart from each other and are formed in circular plate shapes; a noise free belt which is engaged to the outer surfaces of the first and second drums and connects them; a braking part which comes into close contact with the second drum and generates a braking force; a long shaft which is shaft-engaged at the center of the first drum; first and second crank shafts the one ends of which are engaged to both ends of the long shaft and which are symmetrical from each other; a handle bar which is engaged at a right angle at the other ends of the first and second crank shafts; and a sleeve which is engaged at an outer surface of the handle bar.

Each angle adjusting plate is formed in a hand fan shape and has a plurality of fixing holes, and a stopper engaged to the fixing hole is formed at the third frame.

The arm exercise means comprises a housing which is engaged at the second frame and has a space in its inside; a second drum which is formed in a circular plate shape and is accommodated in the housing; a braking part which comes into close contact with the second drum and generates a braking force; a long shaft which is shaft-engaged at the center of the first drum; first and second crank shafts the one ends of which are engaged to both ends of the long shaft and which are symmetrical from each other; a handle bar which is engaged at a right angle at the other ends of the first and second crank shafts; and a sleeve which is engaged at an outer surface of the handle bar.

The braking part comprises a brake pad which comes into contact with both outer sides of the second drum; and a plurality of magnetic parts which are embedded at the lateral side of the brake pad.

The braking part comprises an arc shaped brake pad which comes into contact with an outer surface of the second drum; and a plurality of magnetic parts which are embedded at the inner side of the brake pad.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings.

FIGS. 1 to 4 are views illustrating an operation example of a health bicycle with an arm exercise function according to the present invention. FIG. 5 is a view illustrating an inner side of a lower body exercise part of a health bicycle with an arm exercise function according to the present invention. FIGS. 6 and 7 are perspective views illustrating a braking part adapted to a lower body exercise part of a heath bicycle with an arm exercise function according to the present invention. FIGS. 8 and 9 are perspective views illustrating an arm exercise part of a health bicycle with an arm exercise function according to the present invention. FIG. 10 is a view illustrating an inner side of an arm exercise part of a health bicycle with an arm exercise function according to the present invention. As shown in FIGS. 1 to 4, the health bicycle A with an arm exercise function according to the present invention comprises a frame part F which includes a first frame F1 at a backside of which a seat F12 is engaged, and a second frame F2 which is rotatably hinged by means of a hinge shaft F3 and at an upper side of which a monitor F4 is formed; a lower body exercise means which is engaged at a lower side of the first frame F1 and generates an exercise load so that a user steps on it and rotates it for thereby exercising a muscular strength of a lower body of the user; and an arm exercise means H, H′ which is installed at an upper side of the second frame F2 and generates an exercise load so that a user holds it and rotates it for thereby exercising arms.

Each element will be described in details.

The frame part F is characterized in that the first frame F1 and the second F2 are cross-engaged in an X-shape, at the crossed portion of which is engaged a hinge shaft F3, so it is possible to make the gap come narrower or wider by way of adjustment.

In other words, FIG. 1 is a view illustrating a state that a user can ride in a laid down posture. FIG. 2 is a view illustrating a state that a user can ride in a sit posture, and FIG. 3 is a view illustrating a state that a user can ride standing, and FIG. 4 is a view illustrating a folded state.

It is preferred that the seat F12 is installed in such a way that an angle can be adjusted so as to maintain a horizontal state at all the time as the angles of the first and second frames F1 and F2 belonging to the frame part F change.

There is further provided an angle adjusting part F5 which serves to adjust the folding angles of the first and second frames F1 and F2 of the frame part F.

The angle adjusting part F5 comprises an adjusting piece F51 which is protruded from an upper side of the second frame F2 and has a plurality of fixing holes F50; and a support pin F52 which is engaged to the adjusting piece F51, with the lower side of the first frame F1 coming into close contact with the support pin F52.

So, when in exercise, the posture is selected from the states of FIGS. 1 to 3 and is set, and the riding posture is fixed by operating the angle adjusting part F5.

The lower body exercise part L is provided for the purpose of a muscle strength exercise by means of pedaling, and as shown in FIG. 5,

the lower body exercise means L comprises a casing L10 which is engaged at a lower side of the first frame F1; first and second drum wheels L1 and L2 which are installed spaced apart from each other at a certain distance in the casing L10; a center shaft L3 which is engaged at the center of the first drum wheel L1; a pedal shaft L4 which is installed at both ends of the center shaft L3 to be opposite to each other, with pedals L42 being engaged at the pedal shaft L4; and a braking part L5, L5′ which is installed in the vicinity of the second drum wheel L2 and serves to decelerate the rotation speed by means of a connection or disconnection operation.

The braking part L5 is selected from the following two embodiments.

As shown in FIG. 6, the braking part L5 as one example comprises

a brake pad L52 which comes into contact with both outer sides of the second drum wheel L2; and a plurality of magnetic parts L54 which are embedded in the lateral side of the brake pad L52.

So, when the brake pad L52 comes into close contact with an outer surface of the second drum wheel L2 in response to a signal from the control part, a braking force generates by means of a magnetic operation of the magnetic part L54.

According to another example of the braking part L5′, as shown in FIG. 7,

there are provided an arc shaped brake pad L52′ coming into contact with an outer surface of the second drum wheel L2, and a plurality of magnetic parts L54′ embedded in an inner surface of the brake pad L52′.

So, when the brake pad L52′ comes into contact with an outer surface of the second drum wheel L2 in response to a signal from the control part, the braking force generates by means of the magnetic operation of the magnetic part L54′.

The arm exercise part H operates in a sole form or in combination with the lower body exercise, thus performing the exercises of arms and the upper body and can be implemented in two embodiments as shown in FIGS. 8 and 11.

As shown in FIGS. 8 and 10, the arm exercise means H as one embodiment comprises

a third frame HF3 at one end portion of which a hinge part HF2 rotatably hinge-engaged with the second frame F2 is formed; an angle adjusting plate H4 which is formed at the second frame F2 for thereby selectively adjusting a fixing angle of the third frame HF3; a housing H5 which is formed at the third frame HF3 and has a space in its inside; first and second drums H6 and H7 which are rotatably engaged in the interior of the housing H5 and are installed spaced apart from each other and are formed in circular plate shapes; a noise free belt H8 which is engaged to the outer surfaces of the first and second drums H6 and H7 and connects them; a braking part H9 which comes into close contact with the second drum H7 and generates a braking force; a long shaft H62 which is shaft-engaged at the center of the first drum H6; first and second crank shafts the one ends of which are engaged to both ends of the long shaft H62 and which are symmetrical from each other; a handle bar H13 which is engaged at a right angle at the other ends of the first and second crank shafts; and a sleeve H14 which is engaged at an outer surface of the handle bar H13.

The angle adjusting plate H4 is formed in a hand fan shape and has a plurality of fixing holes H42, and the third frame HF3 has a stopper H44 which fits in the fixing hole H42.

As shown in FIG. 8, the first and second crank shafts H11 and H12 are arranged opposite to each other, so a user can do exercise arms by holding, with both hands, the handle bar H13 and the sleeve H14 which are provided at the first and second crank shafts H11 and H12 and by alternately rotating them.

As shown in FIG. 9, as the first and second crank shafts H11 and H12 are arranged in the same directions, a user can do exercise arms by holding, with both hands, the handle bar H13 and the sleeve H14 provided at the first and second crank shafts H11 and H12 and by rotating them in the same direction.

The second crank shaft H12 has an angle adjusting part (not shown) to engage with the long shaft H62 at a right angle and is designed to change its angle so that it can be installed opposite to the first crank shaft H11 as the second crank shaft H12 rotates 180° or it can be installed in parallel.

As an example of the angle adjusting part, there are provided an insertion part (not shown) which is formed at an end portion of the second crank shaft H12 and is engaged at an end inner portion of the long shaft H62, and a stopper and a spring which are formed at the insertion part. The changed angle of the second crank shaft H12 can be fixed by means of the stopper.

As shown in FIG. 11, as another embodiment of the arm exercise part H′,

As shown in FIG. 11, the arm exercise means H′ as another embodiment comprises a housing H5′ which is engaged at the second frame F2 and has a space in its inside; a second drum H7′ which is formed in a circular plate shape and is accommodated in the housing H5′; a braking part H9 which comes into close contact with the second drum H7′ and generates a braking force; a long shaft H62 which is shaft-engaged at the center of the first drum H6; first and second crank shafts the one ends of which are engaged to both ends of the long shaft H62 and which are symmetrical from each other; a handle bar H13′ which is engaged at a right angle at the other ends of the first and second crank shafts; and a sleeve H14′ which is engaged at an outer surface of the handle bar H13′.

The housing H5′ is formed in a cylindrical shape, and the second drum H7′ is provided in its interior by means of the long shaft H62.

Since the braking part H9 of the arm exercise parts H and H′ according to the above embodiment of the present invention is same as the braking part L5 of the lower body exercise part L, so the same references are given to the same elements.

As shown in FIG. 6, the braking part H9 comprises a brake pad L52 which comes into contact with both outer sides of the second drum H7; and a plurality of magnetic parts L54 which are embedded at the lateral side of the brake pad L52.

So, when the brake pad L52 comes into close contact with an outer surface of the second drum wheel L2 in response to a signal from the control part, the braking force generates by means of the magnetic operation of the magnetic part L54.

As shown in FIG. 7, the braking part H9 comprises an arc shaped brake pad L52 which comes into contact with an outer surface of the second drum H7; and a plurality of magnetic parts L54 which are embedded at the inner side of the brake pad L52.

So, when the brake pad L52 comes into close contact with an outer surface of the second drum wheel L2 in response to a signal from the control part, the braking force generates by means of the magnetic operation of the magnetic part L54.

Though the present invention has been described in relation with the above-disclosed preferred embodiments, it is obvious that an ordinary person skilled in the art can amend or modify in various forms without escaping from the gist and scope of the invention, and such amendments and modifications belong to the scope of the claims.

The present invention is directed to performing a muscular strength exercise by means of the pedaling and it can also make it possible to exercise the muscular strength of an upper body including arms and shoulders.

Claims

1. A health bicycle with an arm exercise function, comprising:

a frame part (F) which includes a first frame (F1) at a backside of which a seat (F12) is engaged, and a second frame (F2) which is rotatably hinged by means of a hinge shaft (F3) and at an upper side of which a monitor (F4) is formed;
a lower body exercise means which is engaged at a lower side of the first frame (F1) and generates an exercise load so that a user steps on it and rotates it for thereby exercising a muscular strength of a lower body of the user; and
an arm exercise means (H, H′) which is installed at an upper side of the second frame (F2) and generates an exercise load so that a user holds it and rotates it for thereby exercising arms.

2. The bicycle of claim 1, wherein said arm exercise means (H) comprises:

a third frame (HF3) at one end portion of which a hinge part (HF2) rotatably hinge-engaged with the second frame (F2) is formed;
an angle adjusting plate (H4) which is formed at the second frame (F2) for thereby selectively adjusting a fixing angle of the third frame (HF3);
a housing (H5) which is formed at the third frame (HF3) and has a space in its inside;
first and second drums (H6 and H7) which are rotatably engaged in the interior of the housing (H5) and are installed spaced apart from each other and are formed in circular plate shapes;
a noise free belt (H8) which is engaged to the outer surfaces of the first and second drums (H6 and H7) and connects them;
a braking part (H9) which comes into close contact with the second drum (H7) and generates a braking force;
a long shaft (H62) which is shaft-engaged at the center of the first drum (H6);
first and second crank shafts the one ends of which are engaged to both ends of the long shaft (H62) and which are symmetrical from each other;
a handle bar (H13) which is engaged at a right angle at the other ends of the first and second crank shafts; and
a sleeve (H14) which is engaged at an outer surface of the handle bar (H13).

3. The bicycle of claim 1, wherein said arm exercise means (H′) comprises:

a housing (H5′) which is engaged at the second frame (F2) and has a space in its inside;
a second drum (H7′) which is formed in a circular plate shape and is accommodated in the housing (H5′);
a braking part (H9) which comes into close contact with the second drum (H7′) and generates a braking force;
a long shaft (H62) which is shaft-engaged at the center of the first drum (H6);
first and second crank shafts the one ends of which are engaged to both ends of the long shaft (H62) and which are symmetrical from each other;
a handle bar (H13′) which is engaged at a right angle at the other ends of the first and second crank shafts; and
a sleeve (H14′) which is engaged at an outer surface of the handle bar (H13′).

4. The bicycle of claim 2, wherein said the first and second crank shafts are arranged opposite to each other or are arranged in the same directions in parallel.

The bicycle of claim 4, wherein said second crank shaft has an angle adjusting part for the purpose of being engaged at a right angle at the long shaft (H62), so the second crank shaft can change its angle for the purpose of being installed opposite to the first crank shaft or of being installed in parallel.

6. The bicycle of claim 2, wherein said braking part (H9) comprises:

a brake pad (L52) which comes into contact with both outer sides of the second drum (H7); and
a plurality of magnetic parts (L54) which are embedded at the lateral side of the brake pad (L52).

7. The bicycle of claim 2, wherein said braking part (H9) comprises:

an arc shaped brake pad (L52) which comes into contact with an outer surface of the second drum (H7); and
a plurality of magnetic parts (L54) which are embedded at the inner side of the brake pad (L52).

8. The bicycle of claim 1, further comprising:

an angle adjusting part (F5) which serves to adjust the folding angles of the first and second frames (F1 and F2) of the frame part (F), and
said angle adjusting part (F5) comprising:
an adjusting piece (F51) which is protruded from an upper side of the second frame (F2) and has a plurality of fixing holes (F50); and
a support pin (F52) which is engaged to the adjusting piece (F51), with the lower side of the first frame (F1) coming into close contact with the support pin (F52).

9. The bicycle of claim 1, wherein said seat (F12) is engaged in such a way that its angle can be adjusted for thereby maintaining a horizontal state.

10. The bicycle of claim 1, wherein said lower body exercise means (L) comprises:

a casing (L10) which is engaged at a lower side of the first frame (F1);
first and second drum wheels (L1 and L2) which are installed spaced apart from each other at a certain distance in the casing (L10);
a center shaft (L3) which is engaged at the center of the first drum wheel (L1);
a pedal shaft (L4) which is installed at both ends of the center shaft (L3) to be opposite to each other, with pedals (L42) being engaged at the pedal shaft (L4); and
a braking part (L5, L5′) which is installed in the vicinity of the second drum wheel (L2) and serves to decelerate the rotation speed by means of a connection or disconnection operation.

11. The bicycle of claim 10, wherein said braking part (L5) comprises:

a brake pad (L52) which comes into contact with both outer sides of the second drum wheel (L2); and
a plurality of magnetic parts (L54) which are embedded in the lateral side of the brake pad (L52).

12. The bicycle of claim 10, wherein said braking part (L5′) comprises:

a brake pad (L52′) which comes into contact with both outer sides of the second drum wheel (L2); and
a plurality of magnetic parts (L54′) which are embedded in the inner side of the brake pad (L52′).

13. The bicycle of claim 3, wherein said braking part (H9) comprises:

a brake pad (L52) which comes into contact with both outer sides of the second drum (H7); and
a plurality of magnetic parts (L54) which are embedded at the lateral side of the brake pad (L52).

14. The bicycle of claim 3, wherein said braking part (H9) comprises:

an arc shaped brake pad (L52) which comes into contact with an outer surface of the second drum (H7); and
a plurality of magnetic parts (L54) which are embedded at the inner side of the brake pad (L52).
