Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a box with an opening device, and more particularly, to an opening device which is pushed, pulled or rotated to easily open the box.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

A conventional cosmetic box generally includes a base and a cover which is mounted to and locked to the base by engaging members. When the users use the cosmetic box, the users separate the cover from the base to disengage the engaging members from each other. However, this opening action is not convenient for the users and the box might be damaged if the opening action is not properly operated. Taiwan Utility Model No. 278277 discloses a cosmetic box which has a button at the mediate part thereof and the button includes a pressing portion and a push portion, the user presses the pressing portion to allow the push portion to push the first link at the cover as to be separated from the second link on the base to open the cosmetic box. Although the button can be pushed to open the cosmetic box, the button has complicated structure and has higher manufacturing cost which has less competition in the market.

The present invention intends to provide a cosmetic box with an opening device which is easily made and can easily open the cosmetic box.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the box 1 of the present invention comprises a base 11 and a cover 12 which is pivotably connected to the base 11 and mounted onto the base 11. The base 11 has more than one reception spaces 111 for receiving compact powder, lips or cosmetic powder. A mirror 121 is connected to the cover 12 for the user to make up. When the box is not in use, the cover 12 is pivoted and mounted to the base 11 by engaging a first engaging portion 112 on the base 11 with a second engaging portion 122 on the cover 12.

The box 1 has a recess 13 defined therein and the recess 13 can be located in the base 11, the cover 12 or between the base 11 and the cover 12. A stop portion 14 extends from the inner surface of the recess 13 and has an inclined surface 141.

A movable member 2 is detachably located in the recess 13 and a mediate section of the movable member 12 has a notch 21 which is located corresponding to the stop portion 14. The notch 21 has an inclined surface 211 at its inside thereof and the inclined surface 211 is located corresponding to the inclined surface 141 of the stop portion 14 so that when the movable member 2 is mounted to the stop portion 14 and located in the recess 13, the stop portion 14 prevents the movable member 2 from dropping off from the recess 13. The movable member 2 has a brush portion 22 connected to a distal end thereof so that the user can use the brush portion 22 on the movable member 2 to use the powder or compact powder.

As shown in FIG. 3, when the user wants to release the engagement between the base 11 and the cover 12, the user pushes inward the movable member 2 along the inclined surface 141 of the stop portion 14 to allow the movable member 2 to move upward along the inclined surface 141 to pivot the cover 12 away from the base 11 to disengage the first engaging portion 112 from the second engaging portion 122. It is noted that the direction that the movable member 2 can be moved outward, left or right by proper arrangement.

FIGS. 4 and 5 show the second embodiment, wherein the difference from the first embodiment is that when the movable member 2A is located in the recess 13, the notch 21A is mounted to the stop portion 14A. An operation end 22A of the movable member 2A protrudes from the recess 13. The operation end 22A has an inclined surface 221A and a gap “d” is defined between the inclined surface 221A of the operation end 22A and the base 11. There is a brush portion 23A on the distal end of the movable member 2A so that the users can use the brush portion 23A to use the cosmetic powder or the compact powder.

As shown in FIG. 6, when the user wants to release the engagement between the base 11 and the cover 12, the user pushes the operation end 22A of the movable member 2A, due to the gap “d” between the inclined surface 221A of the operation end 22A and the box 1, the movable member 2A is pivoted about the stop portion 14A to lift the movable member 2A in the recess 13 to pivot the cover 12 away from the base 11, and the first engaging portion 112 is disengaged from the second engaging portion 122.

As shown in FIG. 7 which shows the third embodiment of the present invention, wherein the difference from the first embodiment is that the notch 21B of the movable member 2B is an annular notch 21B which divides the movable member 2B into an opening end 22B and an operation end 23B. The opening end 22B is a cone-shaped end. The recess 13 is located between the base 11 and the cover 12. The stop portion 14B has two protrusions 141B respectively located on the base 11 and the cover 12. The protrusions 141B are located corresponding to the annular notch 21B. The stop portion 14B has two inclined surfaces 142B respectively located on the base 11 and the cover 12, and the two inclined surfaces 142B are located corresponding to the cone-shaped opening end 22B. The users can use the brush portion 24B to use the cosmetic powder or the compact powder.

As shown in FIG. 8, the protrusions 141B of the stop portion 14B prevent the movable member 2B from dropping off from the recess 13 when the movable member 2B is installed in the recess 13. When the user wants to release the engagement between the base 11 and the cover 12, the user pushes the operation end 23B of the movable member 2B inward and the opening end 22B moves along the inclined surface 142B to pivot the cover 12 away from the base 11 and to disengage the first engaging portion 112 from the second engaging portion 122.

FIG. 9 shows the fourth embodiment which is an alternative embodiment of the third embodiment, wherein the notch of the movable member 2C is an annular notch 21 C which divides the movable member 2C into an opening end 22C and an operation end 23C. The movable member 2C has a pivot 24C which is connected to the opening end 22C and the operation end 23C. The opening end 22C is eccentrically connected to the pivot 24C. The opening end 22C is a cone-shaped end. The recess 13 is located between the base 11 and the cover 12. The stop portion 14C has two protrusions 141 C respectively located on the base 11 and the cover 12. The protrusions 141C are located corresponding to the annular notch 21C. The stop portion 14C has two inclined surfaces 142C respectively located on the base 11 and the cover 12, and the two inclined surfaces 142C are located corresponding to the cone-shaped opening end 22. The movable member 2C has the brush portion 25C on the distal end thereof. The users can use the brush portion 25C to use the cosmetic powder or the compact powder.

As shown in FIG. 10, when the user wants to release the engagement between the base 11 and the cover 12, the user rotates the operation end 23C of the movable member 2C, due to that the opening end 22C is eccentrically connected to the pivot 24, the rotation of the operation end 23C rotates the opening end 22C to rotate about the pivot 24C, such that the cover 12 is pivoted away from the base 11 and the first engaging portion 112 is disengaged from the second engaging portion 122.

By pushing, pulling, rotating the movable members 2, 2A, 2B, 2C relative to the stop portion 14, 14A, 14B and 14C, the cover 12 is pivoted away from the base 11, and the first engaging portion 112 is disengaged from the second engaging portion 122.

While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
