Scrunchable plastic disposable carbonated beverage bottle

The scrunchable plastic disposable carbonated beverage bottle is, as titled, a carbonated beverage bottle that can structurally reduce its volume to preserve carbonation content and freshness of product as product is consumed. The scrunchable bottle also has the ability to self-compact for easier storage and will require less space to dispose of This will ultimately save cubic feet of landfill space that is beyond estimation by preventing air bubbles caused by these bottles.

Description

As stated in claims 1 & 2 of the application it is designed incorporating the use of accordion style ribbing to achieve a reduction of volume and self-compact upon disposal. It should be noted the exact specifications of this ribbing is to be engineered for maximum efficiency and ease of operation. By adjusting the difference between the outer and inner circumferences', the bottle will either open and close freely or will stress lock into the closed position. It should also be noted that the number and dimensions of the ribbing be engineered for maximum efficiency according to projected product consumption or serving size increments.

Drawing 1 indicates a completely closed position of all sections but it should be recognized that each section would deplete one by one as product is consumed to expel air and maintain a full level of product, thereby preserving carbonation. However, in 16 oz and 20 oz single serve bottle, it may be found that easy adjustments made by a non-locking positioning of all sections simultaneously may be preferred.

Drawing 2, notices that the bottle is able to structurally adjust the angle of its spout for easier pour of product.

Drawing 3 note that the bottle will self-compact to 0 (zero) volume. This will allow for a reduction in landfill area that is required for the disposal of such plastic bottles. This item will also encourage recycling by reducing the space required to store and transport these bottles when empty.

Drawing 4 brings us to a secondary type of Scrunch-able Plastic Disposable Carbonated Beverage Bottle, or simply type 2. This bottle incorporates the use of one way ridge locks that circumvent the bottle and engage as the bottle telescopes into itself in thirds. This bottle will not reduce to 0 (zero) volume, nor will it adjust its angle of spout. It will however, hold a greater degree of pressure as it will only close one way. It may be found to be preferred in the 2 & 3 liter bottles.

The bottle depicted in drawings 1-4 are indicative of any and all bottles of any size or design that are plastic disposable carbonated beverage bottles.

Claims

1: It is the claim of the inventor that the Scrunchable Disposable Plastic Carbonated Beverage Bottle is the first “Coke bottle” to structurally reduce its volume in order to prevent loss of carbonation in product as product is consumed. This bottle will use a design incorporating accordion style ribbing to achieve this reduction in volume.

2: It is the claim of the inventor that the Scrunchable Disposable Plastic Carbonated Beverage Bottle is the first “Coke bottle” to self compact and therefore require less landfill space by reducing air bubbles caused by these plastic bottles. It is also the claim of this inventor that the scrunchable nature of this bottle will allow for easier refrigerator storage as well as encourage the recycling of these bottles.
