The present application claims priority to Chinese Patent Application No. 201120505559.1 tiled on Dec. 7, 2011 and entitled “GAZEBO”, the entire disclosure of which is incorporated herein by reference.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention generally relates to a gazebo, and more particularly. to a collapsible gazebo.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Gazebos are used widely to provide shade from the sun and protection from rain in traveling, enjoying leisure, relaxing on a beach, camping during geological exploration. Because a gazebo can be disassembled into separated sections, it is convenient for carrying and storing. Despite this, the conventional gazebo has the following disadvantages.

Firstly, connecting components, such as screws, bolts, nuts, rivets, pins and the like, are typically used to connect or fasten the separated sections of the gazebo, which requires additional assembling tools, complicated assembling processes, and brings more chances of damage to the gazebo. In addition, there are potential security risks in assembling and disassembling the gazebo.

Secondly, properties or personal safety may be damaged or threatened in the event of inclement or stormy weather if the gazebo cannot be disassembled quickly due to the complicated disassembling processes.

Thirdly, after the gazebo is disassembled, the connecting components, such as screws, bolts, nuts, rivets, pins and the like, have to be carefully classified and stored, otherwise sonic of which may be lost, which may put the gazebo unusable.

Fourthly, if the disassembling or assembling processes are complicated, a user may be unwilling to disassemble the gazebo for appropriate storage even if there is no need for the gazebo, which may shorten the life of the gazebo.

Finally, the conventional gazebo may be unstable.

Therefore, there is a need for a convenient gazebo.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE EMBODIMENTS

In order to clarify the objects, characteristics and advantages of the invention, the present invention will be described in detail with reference to embodiments, in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. The invention will be described with reference to specific embodiments. It will be understood by those skilled in the art that various changes may be made without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention. Accordingly, the disclosure of embodiments of the invention is not intended to be limiting.

To better understand the following embodiments, the term “self-locking mechanism” used in the description is defined as following.

The self-locking mechanism includes two linking members, a first linking member and a second linking member. When each or both of the linking members move to a predetermined position after the first linking member is inserted into the second linking member, a first element in the first linking member is coupled to a second element in the second linking member and restrict each other to move, as a result, self-locking is achieved between the first linking member and the second linking member. Merely manual operations on the first element in the first linking member, and manual operations on the second element in the second linking member, respectively or simultaneously may release the first linking member and the second linking member.

FIG. 1 is a schematic perspective view illustrating the structure of a gazebo according to one embodiment of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 1, the gazebo includes a gazebo frame 2 and a canopy 3 coupled to the gazebo frame 2. The gazebo frame 2 includes a plurality of lintels 4 and a plurality of posts 5 adapted for fixing the gazebo to the ground. Each of the plurality of posts 5 is coupled to two lintels 4 to form the gazebo frame 2. Each of the plurality of lintels 4 includes a first lintel member 7 extending along the axis of the post 5 (namely, perpendicular to the ground), and a second lintel member 8 which is connected to the first lintel member 7 at an intersection. The first lintel member 7 and the second lintel member 8 may be jointless (namely, there is no additional connection structure between the first lintel member 7 and the second lintel member 8), or be combined with each other by means of a connection structure. To enhance the rigidity of the lintel 4, a third lintel member 42 is disposed between the two members 8. A first socket 6 is disposed on the outer side of each of the plurality of posts 5. The first lintel member 7 can be inserted into the first socket 6, which may restrict the move of the lintel 4, as a result, the lintel 4 and the post 5 are connected to form the gazebo frame 2.

In an embodiment as shown in FIG. 1, each of the plurality of posts 5 is coupled to two lintels 4 at one side of one of the plurality of the posts 5, in order to enhance the rigidity of the gazebo. Each of the plurality of lintels 4 may be an integral one or include a plurality of lintel members 8 connected to each other in order to store the gazebo conveniently. In an example, each of the plurality of lintels 4 includes two lintel members 8. The third lintel member 42 is disposed between the two lintel members 8 and also between the lintel member 8 and the first lintel member 7. In the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, the first lintel member 7, the third lintel member 42, and the two lintel members 8, which are connected to one and the same post constitute a first lintel 4a. Similarly, the first lintel member 7, the third lintel member 42, and the two lintel members 8, which are all connected to another post constitute a second lintel 4b.

To fasten the connection between the lintel 4 and the post 5, a connection structure may be further employed to connect the lintel 4 and the post 5 a second time. Meanwhile, in order to make the gazebo 1 more convenient and easy to use, the connection structure may not need to be mounted/dismounted during assembling or disassembling the gazebo. That is to say, no additional connection components may be required during assembling or disassembling the gazebo 1, which provides convenience for using the gazebo 1. As an embodiment shown in FIG. 2, the first socket 6 of the post 5 is connected to the first lintel member 7 of the lintel 4 by means of a first self-locking mechanism 9 to form a connection between the lintel 4 and the post 5 a second time. In an embodiment, the first self-locking mechanism 9 includes: a hole 10 disposed on the first socket 6, and a push button 11 disposed on an end 7A of the first lintel member 7 and being elastic along the axis of the hole 10 (in other words, the push button 11 can be stretched out and drawn back in the direction along the axis of the hole 10). The push button 11 can fit into the hole 10 so as to constitute the first self-locking mechanism 9. After the end 7A of the first lintel member 7 is inserted into the first socket 6, the push button 11 contracts. When the first lintel member 7 reaches a predetermined position in the first socket 6, the push button 11 is then released to lit into the hole 10. With the result that the push button 11 is restricted in the hole 10, the first lintel member 7 may not move further, as a result, the first socket 6 is locked with the first lintel member 7. If the first lintel member 7 is to be dismounted from the first socket 6, mere manual operation, like pressing, may push the push button 11 in the contraction state gradually to release the first socket 6 and the first lintel member 7, the first lintel member 7 may thereby be dismounted from the first socket 6.

In an exemplary embodiment, the firmness of connection between the two lintels 4 (4a, 4b) and the post 5 is further enhanced. As shown in FIG. 3, a plurality of first slots 12a, 12b extending along the axis of the post 5 are disposed at the upper end 5A of the post 5. A chuck board 13a is disposed extending outward from an end 4Aa of the first lintel 4a, specifically, an end 4Aa of one lintel member 8. And a chuck board 13b is disposed extending outward from an end 4Ab of the second lintel 4b, specifically, an end 4Ab of one lintel member 8. The chuck board 13a is meant to be inserted correspondingly into the first slots 12a shown in FIG. 3, and the chuck board 13b is meant to be inserted correspondingly into the first slots 12b. The arrangement direction of the plurality of first slots 12a is consistent with the axis of the first lintel 4a, specifically, the axis of the lintel member 8, which has the chuck board 13a to be inserted into the first slots 12a. The arrangement direction of the plurality of first slots 12b is consistent with the axis of the second lintel 4b, specifically, the axis of the lintel member 8, which has the chuck board 1 3b to be inserted into the first slots 12b. Furthermore, second slots 14a, 14b are disposed in the chuck boards 13a, 13b, respectively. In an embodiment, if the post 5 is to be attached to the first lintel 4a and the second lintel 4b, firstly, the chuck board 1 3a of the first lintel 4a is inserted into the first slots 12a, by doing this, the second slot 14a of the chuck board 13a is substantially aligned with the plurality of the first slots 12h of the post 5, so that the chuck board 13b of the second lintel 4b can be correspondingly inserted into the plurality of first slots 12b of the post 5. Then the chuck hoard 13b of the second lintel 4b is correspondingly inserted into the second slot 14a as well as the plurality of first slots 12b, the chuck board 13a is thereby stuck in the chuck board 13b. Therefore, after the first lintel 4a and the second lintel 4b are attached to the post 5, the chuck board 13a and the chuck board 13b are restricted by each other to move, so that the first lintel 4a and the second lintel 4b are prevented from moving or shaking, which thereby improves the firmness between the lintel 4 (4a, 4b) and the post 5.

In another exemplary embodiment, the firmness of connection between the two lintels 4 (4a, 4b) and the post 5 is further enhanced. As shown in FIG. 4, two third slots 12c, 12d extending along the axis of the post 5 are disposed at the upper end 5A of the post 5. A T-shaped clamping member 15a may be disposed to extend from an end 4Aa of the first lintel 4a, specifically, an end 4Aa of one lintel member 8. After the first lintel member 7 of the first lintel 4a is inserted into the first socket 6 of the post 5, the T-shaped clamping member 15a is stuck in the inner side of the post 5 and is stuck by the third slot 12c, so that movement of the first lintel 4a is restricted.

Additionally, in order to enhance firmness of the gazebo 1, a T-shaped clamping member 15b may be disposed to extend from an end 4Ab of the second lintel 4b which is attached to the post 5 as well as the first lintel 4a. After the first lintel member 7 of the second lintel 4b is inserted into the first socket 6 of the post 5, the I-shaped clamping member 15b is stuck in the inner side of the post 5 and is stuck by the third slot 12d, so that movement of the second lintel 4b is restricted. After the first lintel 4a and the second lintel 4h are attached to the post 5 in such manner, the lintels 4a. 4b and the post 5 may still be connected tightly, even the gazebo suffers from great environmental impact.

To enhance firmness and aesthetic feeling of the gazebo 1, an embodiment is provided herein. As shown in FIG. 1, the canopy 3 may include a plurality of first bars 16, and each of the first bars 16 is connected to the post 5. In order to mount/dismount one of the plurality of the first bars 16 and the post 5 easily and quickly without mounting/dismounting additional parts, each of the first bars 16 is connected to the post 5 by means of a third self-locking mechanism according to one embodiment of the present invention.

Referring to FIGS. 4 and 5, in the case that the chuck boards 13a, 13b or the T-shaped clamping member 15a, 15b are disposed at the end 4Aa, 4Ab of the lintels 4a, 4b as described above, the third self-locking mechanism between the first bar 16 and the post 5 may be designed as follows. A hole 18 is disposed on a sidewall of the post 5, and a push button 19 which is retractable along the axis of the hole 18 is disposed on a pole 16a where the first bar 16 connects with the post 5. The push button can fit into the hole so as to constitute the third self-locking mechanism. After the first bar 16 is inserted into the post 5, the push button 19 is brought into a contraction state. The push button 19 is then released to turn into an expansion state gradually when the first bar 16 reaches a predetermined position in the post 5, so that the push button 19 can fit into the hole 18. With the result that the push button 19 is restricted in the hole 18, the first bar 16 may not move further, as a result, the first bar 16 is locked with the post 5. If the first bar 16 is to be dismounted from the post 5, merely manual operation, like pressing, needs be performed on the push button 19. Under pressure, the push button 19 turns into the contraction state gradually until the locking state is released, thereby dismounting the first bar 16 from the post 5. As shown in FIG. 5, in the case that the chuck hoards 13a, 13b are disposed at the end of the first lintel 4a and the second lintel 4b, the pole 16a is configured at a position between the chuck boards 13a and 13b.

Referring to FIG. 4, a barrier plate 20 is coupled to the upper end 5A of the post 5, in order to prevent the T-shaped clamping members 15a, 15b at the end of the lintel 4 from shifting in the post 5, which may adversely affect firmness of the gazebo 1. The barrier plate 20 serves to restrict the T-shaped clamping members 15a, 15b in the inner side of the post 5, so that the lintel 4 is prevented from shifting.

The barrier plate 20 may connect to the post 5 in different ways. In order to mount/dismount the barrier plate 20 and the post 5 easily and quickly without mounting/dismounting additional parts, the barrier plate 20 is connected to the post 5 by means of a second self-locking mechanism according to one embodiment of the present invention.

Referring to FIG. 4, the second self-locking mechanism between the barrier plate 20 and the post 5 may be designed as follows. In an embodiment, the second self-locking mechanism 9 includes: A hole 22 is disposed on a sidewall of the post 5, and a push button 23 which is retractable along the axis of the hole 22 is disposed on the side of the barrier plate 20 which is facing towards the post (namely, downside of the barrier plate 20 shown in FIG. 4). The push button 23 can fit into the hole 22 so as to constitute the second self-locking mechanism. After the barrier plate 20 is inserted into the post 5, the push button 23 is brought into a contraction state. The push button 23 is then released to turn into an expansion state gradually when the barrier plate 20 reaches a predetermined position in the post 5, so that the push button 23 can fit into the hole 22. With the result that the push button 23 is restricted in the hole 22, the barrier plate 20 may not move further, as a result, the barrier plate 20 is locked with the post 5. If the barrier plate 20 is to be dismounted from the post 5, merely manual operation, like pressing, needs be performed on the push button 23. Under pressure, the push button 23 turns into the contraction state gradually until the locking state is released, thereby dismounting the barrier plate 20 from the post 5. As shown in FIG. 4, the push button 23 changes its state between “contraction” and “expansion” by using a spring lamination 24.

In the case that the barrier plate 20 is disposed at the upper end 5A of the post 5, the first bar 16 is coupled to the post 5 through the barrier plate 20. In order to mount/dismount the barrier plate 20 and the first bar 16 easily and quickly without mounting/dismounting additional parts, the barrier plate 20 is connected to the first bar 16 by means of a fourth self-locking mechanism 25 according to one embodiment of the present invention.

Referring to FIG. 4, the fourth self-locking mechanism 25 between the barrier plate 20 and the first bar 16 may be designed as follows. A hole 26 is disposed on the other side of the barrier plate 20 which is facing towards the first bar 16 (namely, upside of the barrier plate 20 shown in FIG. 4), and a push button 19 which is retractable along the axis of the hole 26 is disposed on the pole 16a where the first bar 16 connects with the barrier plate 20. The push button 19 can in into the hole 26 so as to constitute the fourth self-locking mechanism 25. After the first bar 16 is inserted into the barrier plate 20, the push button 19 is brought into a contraction state. The push button 19 is then released to turn into an expansion state gradually when the first bar 16 reaches a predetermined position in the barrier plate 20, so that the push button 19 can fit into the hole 26. With the result that the push button 19 is restricted in the hole 26, the first bar 16 may not move further, as a result, the first bar 16 is locked with the barrier plate 20. If the first bar 16 is to be dismounted from the barrier plate 20, merely manual operation, like pressing, needs be performed on the push button 19. Under pressure, the push button 19 turns into the contraction state gradually until the locking state is released, thereby dismounting the first bar 16 from the barrier plate 20.

As shown in FIG. 1, the canopy 3 further includes at least one second bar 27 in order to enhance overall firmness of the gazebo 1. The at least one second bar 27 is coupled to the lintel 4. A second socket 28 extending along the axis of the post 5 may be disposed on the second lintel member 8, as an example, the second socket 28 is disposed in the center of the second lintel member 8. The second bar 27 is inserted into the second socket 28, so that a first connection mechanism is formed between the second bar 27 and the lintel 4.

To enhance firmness of connection, another connection structure may be Further employed to connect the second bar 27 and the lintel 4 a second time. Meanwhile, additional connection components may not be required during assembling or disassembling the gazebo 1, which provides convenience for using the gazebo 1. In an embodiment, the second bar 27 is connected to the second socket 28 by means of a fifth self-locking mechanism 9 to form a connection between the second bar 27 and the lintel 4.

As shown n FIG. 6, the fifth self-locking mechanism 29 is designed as follows.

A hole 31 is disposed on the second socket 28, a push button 30 which is retractable along the axis of the hole 31 is disposed on a pole 27a where the second bar 27 connects with the second socket 28. The push button 30 can fit into the hole 31 so as to constitute the fifth self-locking mechanism 29. After the second bar 27 is inserted into the second socket 28, the push button 30 is brought into a contraction state. The push button 30 is then released to turn into an expansion state gradually when the second bar 27 reaches a predetermined position in the second socket 28, so that the push button 30 can fit into the hole 31. With the result that the push button 30 is restricted in the hole 31, the second bar 27 may not move further, as a result, the second bar 27 is locked with the second socket 28. If the second bar 27 is to be dismounted from the second socket 28, merely manual operation, like pressing, needs be performed on the push button 30. Under pressure, the push button 30 turns into the contraction state gradually until the locking state is released, thereby dismounting the second bar 27 from the second socket 28.

As shown in FIG. 7, the canopy 3 includes a plurality of first bars 16 and a plurality of second bars 27. The plurality of the first bars 16 and the plurality of the second bars 27 may either be jointless (namely, there is no additional connection structure between the plurality of the first bars 16 and the plurality of the second bars 27), or be combined with each other by means of a connection structure. For the purpose of storage, the canopy 3 further includes a centre connector. When assembling the gazebo 1, the plurality of the first bars 16 and the plurality of the second bars 27 are connected to the end 32a of the centre connector 32. When storing the gazebo 1, each of the plurality of first bars 16 and each of the plurality of the second bars 27 are dismounted from the end 32a of the centre connector 32.

In order to mount/dismount one of the plurality of first bars 16 or one of the plurality of second bars 27 and the centre connector 32 easily and quickly without mounting/dismounting additional parts, the plurality of first bars 16, the plurality of second bars 27 may be connected to the centre connector 32 respectively by means of a sixth self-locking mechanism 33 according to one embodiment of the present invention.

In an embodiment, the sixth self-locking mechanism 33 between one of the plurality of first bars 16 or one of the plurality of second bars 27 and the centre connector 32 may be designed as follows. Referring to FIG. 8, for clarity of description, the one of the plurality of first bars 16, e.g. the first bar 166, or the one of the plurality of second bars 27, e.g. the second bar 277 will be used to describe the sixth self-locking mechanism 33. A hole 34 is disposed on the first bar 166 (or the second bar 277), and a push button 35 which is retractable along the axis of the hole 34 is disposed at the end 32a of the centre connector 32. The push button 35 can fit into the hole 34 so as to constitute the sixth self-locking mechanism 33. When the centre connector 32 is inserted into the first bar 166 (or the second bar 277), the push button 35 is brought into a contraction state. The push button 35 is then released to turn into an expansion state gradually when the centre connector 32 reaches a predetermined position in the first bar 166 (or the second bar 277), so that the push button 35 can fit into the hole 34. With the result that the push button 35 is restricted in the hole 34, the centre connector 32 may not move further, as a result, the centre connector 32 is locked with the first bar 166 (or the second bar 277). If the centre connector 32 is to be dismounted from the first bar 166 (or the second bar 277), merely manual operation, like pressing, needs be performed on the push button 35. Under pressure, the push button 35 turns into the contraction state gradually until the locking state is released, thereby dismounting the centre connector 32 from the first bar 166 (or the second bar 277).

For the purpose of storing, each of the plurality of first bars 16, each of the plurality of second bars 27 and each of the plurality of the lintels 4 respectively comprises at least two members, as shown in FIG. 1.
