Diffusion Type Combination Fan

A combination fan includes an inner impeller unit, an outer impeller unit and a driving unit. The inner impeller unit is rotated by the driving unit and includes a rotation member, a ring-shaped member and a plurality of inner blades. The outer impeller unit is rotatable in concert with the inner impeller unit and includes a connecting member, an outer wall and a plurality of outer blades. The driving unit includes a propeller shaft connected with the rotation member to rotate the inner impeller unit, and a drive mechanism connected with the propeller shaft to rotate the propeller shaft. Thus, the inner impeller unit and the outer impeller unit are rotated by the driving unit to guide an air flow in different directions simultaneously.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a fan and, more particularly, to a combination fan that functions as a ceiling fan or an electric fan.

2. Description of the Related Art

A conventional ceiling fan 1 in accordance with the prior art shown in FIG. 1 comprises a plurality of blades 12 and a driving device 11 connected with the blades 12 to drive and rotate the blades 12. Thus, the blades 12 are rotated by the driving device 11 to produce an air flow so as to provide an air ventilating effect to a room. However, the blades 12 are rotated in a determined direction, such as in the horizontal direction, so that the air flow produced by the blades 12 are also directed toward a determined direction, such as in the vertical direction, and cannot be introduced in different directions, thereby limiting the air ventilating effect.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a combination fan, comprising an inner impeller unit, an outer impeller unit connected with the inner impeller unit, and a driving unit connected with the inner impeller unit. The inner impeller unit is rotated by the driving unit and includes a rotation member connected with and driven by the driving unit, a ring-shaped member surrounding the rotation member, and a plurality of inner blades each disposed between the rotation member and the ring-shaped member and each having a first end connected with the rotation member and a second end connected with the ring-shaped member. The outer impeller unit is rotatable in concert with the inner impeller unit. The outer impeller unit includes a connecting member connected with the ring-shaped member of the inner impeller unit, an outer wall surrounding the connecting member, and a plurality of outer blades each disposed between the connecting member and the outer wall and each having a first end connected with the connecting member and a second end connected with the outer wall. The connecting member of the outer impeller unit is inclined relative to the ring-shaped member of the inner impeller unit so that a predetermined angle is defined between the connecting member of the outer impeller unit and the ring-shaped member of the inner impeller unit. The driving unit includes a propeller shaft connected with the rotation member of the inner impeller unit to rotate the rotation member of the inner impeller unit, and a drive mechanism connected with the propeller shaft to drive and rotate the propeller shaft. Thus, the inner impeller unit and the outer impeller unit are rotated by the driving unit to guide an air flow in different directions.

The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a diffusion type combination fan that can guide an air flow in different directions so as to diffuse and expand the traveling path and angle of the air flow.

According to the primary advantage of the present invention, the inner impeller unit and the outer impeller unit are driven and rotated by the driving unit to blow and guide the air flow in different directions simultaneously so as to diffuse and spread the air flow largely, thereby greatly enhancing the air ventilating and circulating effect.

Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring to the drawings and initially to FIGS. 2-4, a combination fan in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises an inner impeller unit 2, an outer impeller unit 3 connected with the inner impeller unit 2, and a driving unit 4 connected with the inner impeller unit 2.

The inner impeller unit 2 is rotated by the driving unit 4 and includes a rotation member 21 connected with and driven by the driving unit 4, a ring-shaped member 23 surrounding the rotation member 21, and a plurality of inner blades 22 each disposed between the rotation member 21 and the ring-shaped member 23 and each having a first end connected with the rotation member 21 and a second end connected with the ring-shaped member 23.

The outer impeller unit 3 surrounds the inner impeller unit 2 and is rotatable in concert with the inner impeller unit 2. The outer impeller unit 3 includes a connecting member 31 connected with the ring-shaped member 23 of the inner impeller unit 2, an outer wall 33 surrounding the connecting member 31, and a plurality of outer blades 32 each disposed between the connecting member 31 and the outer wall 33 and each having a first end connected with the connecting member 31 and a second end connected with the outer wall 33. The connecting member 31 of the outer impeller unit 3 has an annular shape and is inclined relative to the ring-shaped member 23 of the inner impeller unit 2 so that a predetermined angle is defined between the connecting member 31 of the outer impeller unit 3 and the ring-shaped member 23 of the inner impeller unit 2 as shown in FIG. 4. Each of the outer blades 32 of the outer impeller unit 3 is inclined relative to each of the inner blades 22 of the inner impeller unit 2, and a predetermined angle is defined between each of the outer blades 32 of the outer impeller unit 3 and each of the inner blades 22 of the inner impeller unit 2.

The driving unit 4 includes a propeller shaft 42 connected with the rotation member 21 of the inner impeller unit 2 to rotate the rotation member 21 of the inner impeller unit 2, and a drive mechanism 41 connected with the propeller shaft 42 to drive and rotate the propeller shaft 42. The propeller shaft 42 of the driving unit 4 is extended through the outer blades 32 of the outer impeller unit 3 and has a first end connected with the drive mechanism 41 and a second end secured in the rotation member 21 of the inner impeller unit 2. Thus, the inner impeller unit 2 and the outer impeller unit 3 are rotated by the driving unit 4 to guide an air flow in different directions.

In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the rotation member 21, the inner blades 22 and the ring-shaped member 23 of the inner impeller unit 2, and the connecting member 31, the outer blades 32 and the outer wall 33 of the outer impeller unit 3 are formed integrally so that the inner impeller unit 2 and the outer impeller unit 3 are combined together integrally and are rotated by the driving unit 4 simultaneously.

In operation, referring to FIG. 4 with reference to FIGS. 2 and 3, the propeller shaft 42 of the driving unit 4 is rotated by the drive mechanism 41 to rotate the rotation member 21 of the inner impeller unit 2 so that the inner impeller unit 2 and the outer impeller unit 3 are rotated by the driving unit 4 to produce an air flow. At this time, the connecting member 31 of the outer impeller unit 3 is inclined relative to the ring-shaped member 23 of the inner impeller unit 2 with a predetermined angle being defined between the connecting member 31 of the outer impeller unit 3 and the ring-shaped member 23 of the inner impeller unit 2 so that the inner blades 22 of the inner impeller unit 2 and the outer blades 32 the outer impeller unit 3 are rotated by to guide the air flow in different directions as shown in FIG. 4. In such a manner, the inner impeller unit 2 and the outer impeller unit 3 are rotated by the driving unit 4 to guide the air flow in different directions simultaneously so as to diffuse and spread the air flow, thereby greatly enhancing the air ventilating and circulating effect.

As shown in FIG. 2, the combination fan functions as a ceiling fan.

As shown in FIG. 5, the combination fan functions as an electric fan and further comprises a net-shaped cover 5 mounted on the drive mechanism 41 of the driving unit 4 to cover the inner impeller unit 2 and the outer impeller unit 3.

As shown in FIG. 6, the combination fan further comprises a functional device 43 mounted on the drive mechanism 41 of the driving unit 4 to increase the operation efficiency of the inner impeller unit 2 and the outer impeller unit 3. Preferably, the functional device 43 is a chill-enabling chip to provide a cooling air flow in a hot condition. Alternatively, the functional device 43 is an atomizing processor to provide a cooling air flow in a hot condition. Alternatively, the functional device 43 is a heater to provide a warming air flow in a cold condition. Alternatively, the functional device 43 is an ultrasonic generator to provide a sterilizing effect to a room. Alternatively, the functional device 43 is a ozone generator to provide a sterilizing effect to a room.

Accordingly, the inner impeller unit 2 and the outer impeller unit 3 are driven and rotated by the driving unit 4 to blow and guide the air flow in different directions simultaneously so as to diffuse and spread the air flow largely, thereby greatly enhancing the air ventilating and circulating effect. In addition, the combination fan has a better air ventilating and circulating effect so as to reduce the number of fans that are needed in a determined space, thereby decreasing the cost.

Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment(s) as mentioned above, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is, therefore, contemplated that the appended claim or claims will cover such modifications and variations that fall within the true scope of the invention.

Claims

1. A combination fan, comprising:

an inner impeller unit;
an outer impeller unit connected with the inner impeller unit; and
a driving unit connected with the inner impeller unit;
wherein the inner impeller unit is rotated by the driving unit;
the inner impeller unit includes:
a rotation member connected with and driven by the driving unit;
a ring-shaped member surrounding the rotation member; and
a plurality of inner blades each disposed between the rotation member and the ring-shaped member and each having a first end connected with the rotation member and a second end connected with the ring-shaped member;
the outer impeller unit is rotatable in concert with the inner impeller unit;
the outer impeller unit includes:
a connecting member connected with the ring-shaped member of the inner impeller unit;
an outer wall surrounding the connecting member; and
a plurality of outer blades each disposed between the connecting member and the outer wall and each having a first end connected with the connecting member and a second end connected with the outer wall;
the connecting member of the outer impeller unit is inclined relative to the ring-shaped member of the inner impeller unit;
a predetermined angle is defined between the connecting member of the outer impeller unit and the ring-shaped member of the inner impeller unit;
the driving unit includes: a propeller shaft connected with the rotation member of the inner impeller unit to rotate the rotation member of the inner impeller unit; and a drive mechanism connected with the propeller shaft to drive and rotate the propeller shaft; the inner impeller unit and the outer impeller unit are rotated by the driving unit to guide an air flow in different directions.

2. The combination fan of claim 1, wherein the rotation member, the inner blades and the ring-shaped member of the inner impeller unit, and the connecting member, the outer blades and the outer wall of the outer impeller unit are formed integrally;

the inner impeller unit and the outer impeller unit are combined together integrally and are rotated by the driving unit simultaneously;
each of the outer blades of the outer impeller unit is inclined relative to each of the inner blades of the inner impeller unit;
a predetermined angle is defined between each of the outer blades of the outer impeller unit and each of the inner blades of the inner impeller unit;
the propeller shaft of the driving unit is extended through the outer blades of the outer impeller unit;
the propeller shaft of the driving unit has a first end connected with the drive mechanism and a second end secured in the rotation member of the inner impeller unit.

3. The combination fan of claim 1, wherein

the combination fan further comprises a functional device mounted on the drive mechanism of the driving unit;
the functional device is a chill-enabling chip.

4. The combination fan of claim 1, wherein

the combination fan further comprises a functional device mounted on the drive mechanism of the driving unit;
the functional device is an atomizing processor.

5. The combination fan of claim 1, wherein

the combination fan further comprises a functional device mounted on the drive mechanism of the driving unit;
the functional device is a heater.

6. The combination fan of claim 1, wherein

the combination fan further comprises a functional device mounted on the drive mechanism of the driving unit;
the functional device is an ultrasonic generator.

7. The combination fan of claim 1, wherein

the combination fan further comprises a functional device mounted on the drive mechanism of the driving unit;
the functional device is a ozone generator.

8. The combination fan of claim 1, wherein the combination fan further comprises a net-shaped cover mounted on the drive mechanism of the driving unit to cover the inner impeller unit and the outer impeller unit.
