Description
TITLE AND TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a Pilates and multifunction exercise machine.

PRIOR ART AND PROBLEMS TO SOLVE

Currently known from the prior art are hundreds of implementations of exercise machines. Among all these machines there is none known like the multifunction machine claimed in this invention patent document.

The present invention, filed in this application, solves various problems. One of the main problems the invention solves is that with one single machine the user will be able to perform any type of exercise, irrespective of their age, physical condition and weight, obese people, overweight, children and adults irrespective of their height, pregnant women, patients in rehabilitation, users with atrophied hands or feet, will be able to use the machine described in this document.

The claimed machine is light, does not function with weights, does not take up much space, and is easy to use.

Among the applications of use is Pilates, as well as exercise for the lower abdominals, upper abdominals, obliques, outer and lower oblique abdominals, lateral abdominals, abdominals wheel [sic], exercises for gluteus, exercises to decrease the abdomen, exercises for the pectorals, exercises for men, exercises for the back, exercises for the legs, exercises for the thighs, exercises for the lumbar, exercises for varicose veins, among others.

OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

The object and purpose of the present invention patent is achieved with a multifunction exercise machine.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Claimed and described is a preferred embodiment of a Pilates and multifunction exercise machine, the object of the present invention, the characteristics of which will be provided in the following detailed description with reference to the appended figures, in which description, by way of non-limiting illustration, are included without any restrictive nature whatsoever, forms, dimensions, proportions, materials and uses.

In all of the figures, the same reference numbers indicate equal or corresponding elements.

As can be seen in the figures that accompany this presentation [of a] Pilates and multifunction exercise machine, it is formed by three principal elements, the bench (1), the back (2) and the right and left legs (3) and (4), respectively.

The bench (1) is articulated at the posterior to the back (2) by the hinge (5), and at the anterior end it is attached and articulated to the legs (3) and (4) by the hinges (6), one right and one left.

The bench (1) is composed of the bench box (1a), prismatic, square in shape, of heavy sheet metal, with a bottom and four sides, extending downwards by the four tubular legs (1b), of rectangular cross-section and considerable thickness, disposed in oblique shape and angled inwards at 45°, quite pronounced from the anterior and posterior edges of the box (1a) holding the central part of the claimed machine, the bench legs (1b) welded or bolted to the bench box (1a) terminate at the lower end at the rectangular metal platforms (1c) and with a rubber nonskid base (1d), which platforms have two holes (1e) to make it possible to attach the machine to the floor.

Starting from the bench box (1a), the bench box 1 extends upward by the bench cover cushioned with high density foam rubber and upholstered in ecological leather, internally attached on the side walls of the box supported on the bench frame (1g) and screwed, thus forming the bench cavity (1h) where the transmission elements are housed that will be described hereinafter.

The bench (1) extends on both sides with parallel telescopic bars (12) which will be described hereinafter.

The extendable safety belt (1i) with adjustable crotch strap with buckle or fastening system comes from the anterior and side walls of the bench box (1a).

On the bench top (1f) of the bench (1) there are 4 cavities for passage and support of longitudinal tensioners (1j) parallel to and next to the sides.

The cylindrical hinge (5) articulating the bench (1) with the back (2) is dual action, allowing two independent movements of the back with respect to the bench (1) in circular rotation on its longitudinal middle axis to the right or left as well as also allowing the raising and lowering movement of the back (2) oscillating from the central point of union of the hinge (5).

The hinge (5) is formed by a flat two-leaf hinge (5a), the upper leaf (5b) with holes for screwing or welding to the box of the bench (1) and the other lower leaf (5c) extending downward welded or bolted to the anterior tubular cylinder (5d) of slightly larger inside diameter than the outside diameter of the long posterior tubular cylinder (5e) that pivots inside the first one, extending backwards and in the posterior part in the joint plate to the back (5f) welded or bolted, which is the joining element with the back (2).

The long posterior tubular cylinder (5e) passes forward through the entire anterior tubular cylinder (5d) extending beyond it and at its distal end there is a widening of the neck thereof, anterior stop (5g) that prevents it from moving backwards. There is a threaded posterior stop (5h) that allows the adjustment of the posterior long tubular cylinder (5e) and prevents it from moving forward.

All of the stops (5g), (5h) have rubber gaskets (5i) as shock absorbers, which are lubricated to avoid wear and rubbing.

Finally, the hinge (5) has a stop so that the back (2) does not oscillate or rotate in a circle on its longitudinal middle axis to the right or left. There are holes (5j) that pass through in transverse perpendicular line the anterior tubular cylinder (5d) and the posterior tubular cylinder (5e) in line, through which the hinge bolt (5k) passes, thus stabilizing the back (2) in the horizontal position.

The back (2) extends, linked and articulated towards the front, through the hinge (5) to the bench (1). It is comprised of the back box (2a), prismatic, rectangular surface, of thin sheet metal and tubular structure the back frame (2b) of square cross section, sufficiently lightweight, a property required in order to allow the movements induced by the actions of the user, extending upwards by the back top (2c) padded with high density foam rubber and upholstered with ecological leather, attaching internally to the side walls of the back box (2a), supported and screwed to the back frame (2b), thus forming the back cavity (2d) where the transmission elements are housed that will be described hereinafter.

On the top of the back (2c) there are two cavities for passage and support of tensioners (2e) of rectangular cross section, longitudinal, parallel and near the posterior edge, located at the posterior part, separated and near the sides of the back (2).

In the back box (2a) there are at its posterior side, the conduits of upper tensioners (7) and (8), right and left respectively, strong, round sheet metal tubes of appropriate diameter and thickness, connected to the interior of the back box (2a) through holes (2f) in the back and welded thereto or attached with nut and locknut.

In the back box (2a), at its sides near the posterior end, there are cavities for the articulated tensioner handles mechanisms (2g), one right and one left, embedded in the wall at a certain depth and curved anterior and posterior ends. Housed in this enclosure are the mechanisms that articulate the articulated tensioner handles (10) that will be described hereinafter.

On the lower surface of the back box (2a) there is the metal back guide rail (11) with two wings, which crosses separated from the guide rail the box longitudinally in its middle part the lower surface of the back box (2a) joined at the anterior part to the hinge (5) and at the posterior part to the outer posterior edge of the box (2), is of a certain thickness and strength and has holes in line on both wings, it contains the back guide rail pulley (11a) made of cast metal or heavy sheet metal, with a shaft associated with the back pulley fork (11b), which extends at its lower end with a back pulley arm (11c) associated with the hinged rosette back arm (18) that will be described later.

The legs (3) and (4), right and left respectively, prismatic, elongated rectangular, extend, connected and articulated backwards, through the leg hinges (6), one right and one left, to the bench (1), are composed of the legs box (3a) and (4a) respectively, prismatic, elongated rectangular surface, of thin sheet metal and tubular structure the legs frame (3b) and (4b) of square cross section, is sufficiently lightweight, a property required to allow the movements induced by the action of the user, extending upward by the leg tops (3c) and (4c), right and left respectively, padded with high density foam rubber and upholstered in ecological leather, embedding internally in the side walls of the leg boxes (3a) and (4a) supported on the legs frame (3b) and (4b), and screwed, thus forming the leg cavities (3d) and (4d) where the elements, transmissions and piping are housed, which will be described later.

In the leg boxes (3a) and (4a), on their sides near the anterior end, there are cavities for the mechanisms of the articulated feet (3e) and (4e), pair per leg, right and left respectively, embedded in the wall at a certain depth and curved anterior and posterior ends, in this enclosure are housed the mechanisms for the articulated feet (12) right and left, which will be described later.

On the lower surface of the legs boxes (3a) and (4a) there are leg guide rails (13) and (14), left and right respectively, made of metal, that cross longitudinally in the middle part the lower surface of the leg boxes (3a) and (4a), are of a certain thickness and strong, screwed, and with two wings to contain the leg guide rail pulleys (13a) and (14a), made of cast metal or heavy sheet metal, with a shaft associated with the leg pulley forks (13b) and (14b), which extend at their lower end with the leg pulley arms (13c) and (14c) associated with the hinged leg arm rosettes (13d) and (14d).

The articulated feet (15) and (16) are strong metal platforms where the user can insert his feet supporting the soles of the feet in both positions (facing up or facing down), they have a strong wide foot strap (15a) and (16a), that are adjustable with buckle or securing system.

When the articulated feet (15) and (16) are not in use, they are closed and laid down backwards on the surface of the leg covers (3c) and (4c), right and left respectively, position resulting from the backward tension of the elastic foot tensioners (15b) and (16b) associated with the platform of the articulated feet (15) and (16) with the mechanisms the articulated feet (12) the lower surface of the platforms of the feet (15) and (16) are lined with foam rubber.

The Bench (1) has on both sides telescopic parallel bars (17) of thick round tubular pipe of good size, secured to the legs (1b) by bolting or welding, the telescopic system allows the user to elevate the bars into the desired position or to hide them at the bench box (1a).

The tensioner conduits (7) and (8), right and left respectively, are tubular with round cross-section, curved, in their first portion parallel and at the level of the back (2) curving upward and forward in the middle section, terminating in a portion parallel, above and in a direction anterior to the surface of the back (2) each of them terminating in a conduit cover (7a) and (8a) with a central orifice (7b) and (8b) that centers the cable of the sheathed steel tensioner that will be described later associated in the lower end with the stirrups (7c) and (8c).

The right and left leg hinges (6) are identical, it is a flat, two-leaf hinge made of cast iron or thick metal plate, strong, they are formed by the anterior leaf (6a) with orifices for screwing or welding to the leg boxes (3a) (4a) and the posterior leaf (6b) extends toward the back welded or bolted to the bench box (1a), lastly there is the flat lower hinge legs connection (6c) that extends forward from the lower face of the posterior leaf (6b), which does not allow the legs (3) and (4) to be lowered from the horizontal position in line with the bench (1). The flat lower leg stops (6c) is [sic] cushioned by the rubber gasket (6d) that are [sic] lubricated to avoid wear and rubbing.

The telescopic parallel bars (17) are made of strong considerable [sic] tubular pipe, attached to the bench legs (1b). The bars are composed of three elements, two columns of parallel bars (17a) and the central bar (17b).

The columns of parallel bars (17a) are welded or bolted to the bench legs (1b) they are tubular with round cross-section and have a continuity of orifices for adjusting the column (17c) that pass through it, they are supported on the floor surface where the described machine is installed.

The central bar (17b) which is also round tubular in shape formed by a horizontal central part (17d) according to the width of the bench (1) that extends in both directions, anterior and posterior, in 90° curves, from those curves a short portion extends vertically downwards with the same diameter as the central part, and from this portion the pipe undergoes a reduction in diameter according to the inside diameter of the columns of parallel bars (17a) and with an appropriate width, so that in this way and in use they are inserted in them, having a line of adjustment orifices for the central bar (17e), that pass through it and are disposed at the same distance and in the same quantity as the column adjustment orifices (17c), used with the bolts with a lock nut (17f) they will fix the telescopic parallel bars (17) at the height required by the user, which height will not go below the upper level of the bench (1).

The articulated tensioner handles (10) are tubular, metal, lined with padding, extend from the mechanisms of the articulated tensioner handles (9) which are housed [in] the cavities of the mechanisms of the articulated tensioner handles (2g) located in the sides of the back (2).

They extend from the back (2) outwards and upwards in a curved line and at the same time forwards, being bifurcated in two tensioner handle grips (10a) one wider and farther forward than the other, terminating in grip protectors.

The articulated tensioner handles (10) have in their upper part a male connection bushing (10b) with three orifices to attach it to the mechanism of the articulated tensioner handles (9), through the transverse handle bolts (9g) thereof.

The male connection bushing (10b) is extended in its lower part by an elongated tab (10c) with an orifice for attaching the three elastics that will allow the user to perform transverse exercises with the handle.

The user will be able to actuate the articulated tensioner handles (10) in different directions, such as forward and backward, inward and outward, and will also be able to disconnect it, add tension to it, change its position, all of these functions resulting from the mechanisms of the articulated tensioner handles (9) that will be described below.

The mechanisms of the articulated tensioner handles (9) are housed in the cavities of the mechanisms of the articulated tensioner handles (2g) located in the sides of the back (2). It is composed of the upper articulated tensioner rail (9a) and the lower articulated tensioner rail (9b) attached to the top and bottom respectively of the cavity (2g), the rail ends (9c) one anterior and the other posterior, the handle carriage (9d) associated at its anterior and posterior ends with the wheels (9e) in the middle portion of the carriage (9d) it has an orifice (9f) through which there is a transverse handle bolt (9g) which passes through the back box and joins the left and right handle carriages (9d), at its ends is the female connection bushing (9h) with two wings and three holes that will be associated with the male connection bushing (10b) of the handles (10), inside the mechanism there are three transverse tension elastics (9i) that pass through the back box (2) in a plane slightly lower than the transverse handle bolt (9g) its ends are associated with the elongated tabs (10c) of the male connection bushings (10b).

In the position of use of the articulated tensioner handles (10) the three transverse tension elastics (9i) are at their minimum tension, the handle will not be able to the lowered any further since the movable handle bolt shaft (9g) has a lower safety stop (9j). Similarly, if the user wishes to have the handles fixed transversely, he applies the upper safety stop (9k) associated with the handle carriage (9d).

For longitudinal forward and backward movements of the articulated tensioner handles (10) the handle carriage (9d) has two carriage attachment pins (9l), one anterior and one posterior, screwed into its distal end, to secure one of the ends of the elastic tensioners (9ll) with a nut, the other end is secured by the elastic box attachment pins (9m) one anterior and one posterior also screwed into its distal end, to secure the other ends of the elastic tensioners (9n) with a nut, the ends of the elastic tensioners are flat nipples with an orifice in which the pin is inserted.

The elastic tensioners (9ll) have three tension values (low, medium and high). The user will select the appropriate resistance, with the possibility of adding tension by installing more than one elastic tensioner.

Another possibility of use offered by the mechanism of the articulated handle tensioners (9) is that if the user wishes to stop the longitudinal movement forwards and backwards and have the handles fixed, he can do so by stopping the wheels (9e) with the carriage (9d) with the wheel stop pin (9ñ). The mechanisms of the right and left articulated feet (12) are housed in the cavities of the mechanisms of the right and left articulated feet (3e) and (4e), respectively, located on both sides of the legs (3) and (4) is [sic] composed of the upper leg rail (12a) and lower leg rail (12b) secured to the top and bottom respectively of the cavity (3e) and (4e), the rail ends (12c) one anterior and one posterior, the foot carriage (12d) associated at its anterior and posterior ends with the wheels (12e) in the middle portion the carriages (12d) are associated with the foot platform crosspiece (12f).

For articulated forward and backward longitudinal movements the foot carriage (12d) has two elastic foot attachment pins (12g) one anterior and one posterior screwed into its distal end, to secure one of the ends of the foot elastic tensioners (12h) with a nut, the other end is attached to the elastic foot attachment pins (12i) one anterior and one posterior also screwed into its distal end, to secure the other ends of the foot elastic tensioners with a nut, the ends are flat nipples with an orifice in which the pin is inserted.

The elastic foot tensioners (12h) have three tension values (low, medium and high). The user can select the appropriate resistance, with the possibility of adding tension by installing more than one elastic tensioner.

Another possibility of use offered by the articulated foot mechanism (12) is that if the user wishes to stop the longitudinal forward and backward movement and keep the feet fixed in place he can do so by blocking the wheels (12e) with the foot carriage (12d) with the wheels stop pin (12j).

Transmissions Transmissions of Cables and Elastics, Pipes and Interior of the Machine

One of the features of the described and claimed exercise machine is the possibility of associating described options with connections that will be described, the user having the possibility of disconnecting them whenever he wishes. For better understanding, the machine is shown in FIG. 13 with the tops of the box, back and legs removed.

Transmission 20

First, described is the transmission of the feet 15 and 16 with the right and left upper tensioners 7 and 8 respectively.

The right foot (15) is associated with the left upper tensioner (8) by a steel cable that passes through a pipe (20a).

The left foot (16) is associated with the right upper tensioner (7), by a sheathed steel cable that passes through the pipes (20a).

The result of the transmission is that when the user applies tension to the upper right tensioner he will raise his left foot and on applying tension to the upper left tensioner he will raise his right foot.

Transmission 21

Second, described is the transmission of the back with the right and left legs (3) and (4) respectively.

The transmission makes it possible so that, when the back (2) is raised the legs (3) and (4) are lowered, the back guide rail pulley (11a) is linked to the leg guide rail pulleys (13a) and (14a), through a sheathed steel cable.

Third, described is the transmission of the transmissions of cables for associating the handles in movement with the right and left legs respectively sheathed steel wire. [sic]

Claims

1) Pilates and multifunction exercise machine characterized in that it is formed by a bench, a back and two legs, right and left.

The bench in the posterior part extends articulated to the back by a back hinge and at the anterior end linked and articulated to the legs by leg hinges, one right and one left.
The bench is composed of a bench box, prismatic, of quadrangular surface, of heavy sheet metal, with a bottom and four sides, extending downwards by four legs of tubular pipe of rectangular cross-section, disposed in oblique form, with a slope within 45°, joined transversely in pairs, terminating at the lower end in rectangular metal platforms with two orifices with a rubber base, the bench extends upwards in the bench top supported on the frame, screwed, it extends at both sides in the telescopic parallel bars, an extendible safety belt with adjustable crotch strap with buckle and fastening system comes from the anterior and side walls of the box, on the top there are four pass-through and support cavities for parallel longitudinal tensioners and close to the edges.
The cylindrical back hinge, formed by a flat, two-leaf hinge, the upper wing associated with the box of the bench and the lower wing extends downwards welded to the anterior tubular cylinder of slightly larger inside diameter than the outside diameter a posterior tubular long cylinder that pivots inside the first one extending backwards through the back box and in the posterior end part in a joint plate to the back, the posterior tubular cylinder passes forward all the way through the cylinder at its anterior distal end there is a widening of the neck thereof, threaded anterior stop and posterior stop that allows the long tubular cylinder to be adjusted, both stops with rubber gaskets, the hinge has a stop pin passing through it, through orifices that are horizontally in line.
The back composed of the prismatic box, of rectangular surface, of thin sheet metal and tubular structure the frame extending upwards by the back top padded with foam supported on the back frame, at the top there are two pass-through and support cavities of rectangular cross-section for tensioners, which are longitudinal, parallel and close to the posterior edge, in the box on its posterior side there are the upper tensioner conduits, round metal tubes, connecting at the interior of the box welded or secured with nut and locknut.
In the back box at its sides close to the posterior end the cavities of the mechanisms of the articulated tensioner handles, one right and the other left, embedded in the wall at a certain depth and curved anterior and posterior ends.

The legs hinge, cast iron or heavy sheet metal flat two-leaf hinge, which are formed by the anterior wing associated with the legs boxes and the posterior extends backwards associated with the bench box, a slanted flat lower hinge stop extends from the lower face of the posterior wing forwards, rubber gasket. The tubular handles, metal, padded lining, start from the mechanisms housed [in the] cavities of the mechanisms in the sides of the back they start outside and above in a curved line and at the same time forwards, bifurcating into two tensioner handle grips one farther forward and longer than the other, terminating in grip protectors, in their lower part they have a male connection bushing with three orifices and bolts extend in the lower part into an elongated tab with an orifice.
The mechanisms of the handles housed in cavities in the sides of the back composed of an upper rail and a lower rail secured to the top and bottom respectively, rail ends, handle carriage associated at its ends with wheels has an orifice through which a bolt passes that joins the right and left carriages, at its ends female connection bushing with two wings and three holes three transverse tension elastics in a plane slightly lower than the bolt are associated with the elongated tabs, stop pins, to connection pins of elastics one anterior and the other posterior screwed into the distal end, elastics tensioners with flat nipple ends with an orifice.
The mechanisms of the right and left feet house in cavities in both sides is composed of the upper leg rail and lower leg rail secured to the top and bottom respectively, the rail ends, the carriage associated at its anterior and posterior ends with the wheels are associated with the foot platform crosspiece elastics connection pins one anterior and the other posterior screwed into the distal end, fixed connection pins screwed into its distal end, the elastics tensioners with flat nipples with an orifice.
