A toilet seat assembly includes first and second hinges configured to be mounted on a toilet bowl, an adult seat coupled to the hinges for pivotal movement about an axis, and a child seat including a child ring portion and first and second arms extending from the child ring portion. The child seat is removably coupled to the hinges for pivotal movement about the axis and is removable from the hinges by squeezing the arms towards one another.

The present invention relates to toilet seat assemblies, and more particularly to combined adult and child toilet seat assemblies. A combined adult and child toilet seat assembly allows an adult to use an adult-sized seat and a child to use a child-sized seat.
SUMMARYIn one embodiment, the invention provides a toilet seat assembly including first and second hinges configured to be mounted on a toilet bowl, an adult seat coupled to the hinges for pivotal movement about an axis, and a child seat including a child ring portion and first and second arms extending from the child ring portion. The child seat is removably coupled to the hinges for pivotal movement about the axis and is removable from the hinges by squeezing the arms towards one another.
In another embodiment, the invention provides a toilet seat assembly including first and second hinges configured to be mounted on a toilet bowl, an adult seat coupled to the hinges for pivotal movement about an axis, and a child seat including a child ring portion and first and second arms extending from the child ring portion. Each of the hinges has thereon an inwardly extending projection and each of the arms has therein an outwardly opening recess that receives a respective one of the projections.
In another embodiment, the invention provides a child toilet seat including a child ring portion and first and second arms extending from the child ring portion. The arms are resiliently flexible such that the arms can be squeezed together for removable attachment to hinges.

Claims
1. A toilet seat assembly comprising:
- first and second hinges configured to be mounted on a toilet bowl;
- an adult seat coupled to the hinges for pivotal movement about an axis; and
- a child seat including a child ring portion and first and second arms extending from the child ring portion, the child seat removably coupled to the hinges for pivotal movement about the axis, and the child seat removable from the hinges by squeezing the arms towards one another.
2. The toilet seat assembly of claim 1, wherein the first arm includes one of a first recess and a first projection and the first hinge includes the other of the first recess and the first projection so that the first recess receives the first projection; and
- wherein the second arm includes one of a second recess and a second projection and the second hinge includes the other of the second recess and the second projection so that the second recess receives the second projection.
3. The toilet seat assembly of claim 2, further comprising:
- a lid including a child seat recess, the lid coupled to the hinges for pivotal movement about the axis;
- wherein in a storage position, the child seat recess receives the child seat.
4. The toilet seat assembly of claim 3, wherein one of the child seat and the lid includes a magnet to secure the child seat in the storage position.
5. The toilet seat assembly of claim 4, wherein at least one of the first and second arms is flexible.
6. The toilet seat assembly of claim 1, wherein the first and second arms each include an outwardly opening recess; and
- wherein the first and second hinges each include a projection extending inwardly along the axis and received by a respective one of the recesses.
7. The toilet seat assembly of claim 6, further comprising:
- a lid including a child seat recess, the lid coupled to the hinges for pivotal movement about the axis;
- wherein in a storage position, the child seat recess receives the child seat.
8. The toilet seat assembly of claim 7, wherein one of the child seat and the lid includes a magnet to secure the child seat in the storage position.
9. The toilet seat assembly of claim 1, wherein the first and second arms each include an outwardly extending projection; and
- wherein the first and second hinges each include an inwardly opening recess that receives a respective one of the projections.
10. The toilet seat assembly of claim 9, further comprising:
- a lid including a child seat recess, the lid coupled to the hinges for pivotal movement about the axis;
- wherein in a storage position, the child seat recess receives the child seat.
11. The toilet seat assembly of claim 10, wherein one of the child seat and the lid includes a magnet to secure the child seat in the storage position.
12. The toilet seat assembly of claim 1, further comprising:
- a lid including a child seat recess, the lid coupled to the hinges for pivotal movement about the axis;
- wherein in a storage position, the child seat recess receives the child seat.
13. The toilet seat assembly of claim 12, wherein one of the child seat and the lid includes a magnet to secure the child seat in the storage position.
14. The toilet seat assembly of claim 1, wherein at least one of the first and second arms is flexible.
15. A toilet seat assembly comprising:
- first and second hinges configured to be mounted on a toilet bowl, each of the hinges having thereon an inwardly extending projection;
- an adult seat coupled to the hinges for pivotal movement about an axis; and
- a child seat including a child ring portion and first and second arms extending from the child ring portion, each of the arms having therein an outwardly opening recess receiving a respective one of the projections.
16. The toilet seat assembly of claim 15, further comprising:
- a lid including a child seat recess, the lid coupled to the hinges for pivotal movement about the axis;
- wherein in a storage position, the child seat recess receives the child seat.
17. The toilet seat assembly of claim 16, wherein one of the child seat and the lid includes a magnet to secure the child seat in the storage position.
18. A child toilet seat including a child ring portion and first and second arms extending from the child ring portion, the arms being resiliently flexible such that the arms can be squeezed together for removable attachment to hinges.
19. The child toilet seat of claim 18, wherein the first and second arms each include an outwardly opening recess.
20. The child toilet seat of claim 18, wherein the first and second arms each include an outwardly extending projection.
