FIELD OF THE INVENTIONThe following invention relates to beverage holders and collapsible pockets for use on bags, such as backpacks, purses, waist and shoulder bags, as well as beverage holders and collapsible pockets found on articles of clothing and other objects.
DESCRIPTIONThe following invention relates to beverage holders and collapsible pockets such as water bottle holders found on all manner of carry bags and articles of clothing and other objects which possess collapsible pockets.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTIONBackpacks, and other forms of carry bags often contain elastic pockets for carrying water bottles and other beverage containers.
Traditionally these pockets consist of a single piece of elastic mesh sewn onto the side of the bag and utilizing an elastic strap to help secure the beverage container in place.
Often, the traditional design of a beverage holder will fray over time since the elastic mesh is porous and easily snags on sharp objects.
Often, the traditional design of a beverage holder contains an elastic mesh which degrades over time as friction occurs against the bottom of the beverage container.
The effect of this traditional design consists of these elastic pockets wearing out and being rendered unusable and unsightly.
It is desirable for individuals to have a collapsible beverage holder or pocket on backpacks, carry bags, and articles of clothing and other objects which will provide greater utility and ergonomics.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONWith this invention a collapsible pocket is provided that consists of fabric, elastic mesh, and elastic cord for carrying beverage containers or other objects sized appropriately for the dimensions of the pocket and utilizing a unique folding method and a closure system.
While the invention is illustrated primarily for beverage containers on carry bags, the invention could be modified and adapted for use of articles of clothing and other objects using an array of fabrics and materials. A similarly conceptual collapsible pocket is more specifically described in US Pat. No. 2005/0025399 A1 which is herein incorporated by reference.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTIONAccordingly, a primary object of the present invention is to create a collapsible pocket that can be opened when needed by the individual, yet closed and secured when not in use.
Another object of the present invention is to create a method for the folding process of a collapsible pocket.
Another object of the present invention is to provide an ergonomically designed collapsible pocket which conforms to the body of the bag, article of clothing, or other object when not in use.
Another object of this invention is to include a unique collapsible beverage carrying case made of fabric and elastic mesh or other similar materials and affixed by stitching or other detachable means, to the shoulder strap or main compartment of bag, on the body of an article of clothing, or on the body of other objects.
Other further objects of the present invention will become apparent from a careful reading of the included drawing figures, the claims and detailed description of the invention.
