The invention provides a device to relieve stress in the form of a favored theme pillow stuffed with multiple similar or coordinated smaller pillows. This device provides users an entire line of fun and creative pillows with which to engage in friendly mock physical conflict involving pillow fighting, thus relieving stress.

Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

This invention relates the field of stress reduction devices such as those used in pillow fights comprising a pillow toy capable of storing and striking a plush or stuffed coordinated or smaller pillows.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The prior art has put forth several designs for devices containing an implement capable of storing and striking one or more balls. Among these are:

US Patent D488,056 to Barbara Lee Duffy describes an ornamental design for an oversized baseball bat capable of holding a plurality of balls inside the bat.

U.S. Pat. No. 5,071,123 to Donald Spector describes toy implements for storing and striking play balls comprising a hollow toy implement adapted to store as well as to strike play balls. Also disclosed in this reference is a golf club capable of storing and striking golf balls, and a tennis racket, capable of storing and striking balls.

U.S. Pat. No. 3,111,314 to Bernard Topper describes a Toy Fungo Bat wherein the bat is configured to contain and singly eject a baseball to be struck with the bat.

A prior art device comprising a pillow fight stress reducing game is found in U.S. Pat. No. 5,362,062 to Ted J. Schott. The device of Scott comprises a structured game including a game board and instructions involving players swinging pillows at each other.

None of these references describe the present invention.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

It is an object of the repent invention to provide a device to relieve stress in the form of a favored theme pillow stuffed with multiple similar or coordinated smaller pillows. This device provides users an entire line of fun and creative pillows with which to engage in friendly mock physical conflict involving pillow fighting, thus relieving stress.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a soft, foam pillow bat which opens at its distal end to contain a multiplicity of soft, baseball pillows.

FIG. 2 is a perspective view of a curved quadrilateral pillow embellished with a sun, which is open at one end to contain a multiplicity of similar, smaller pillows.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The present invention provides consumers, young and old with A playful and creative pillow fighting device. Consumers choose their pillow theme. Examples include: a baseball bat stuffed with mini baseball stuffer pillows, a cat shaped pillow with mini kitten stuffer pillows, a flower pillow with mini flower bud stuffer pillows, a curved quadrilateral pillow embellished with a sun, with similar, smaller pillows, for example. The Stuff Your Pillow line includes an assortment of themes also including traditional rectangular, round or square

The large pillow is stuffed with the smaller stuffer pillows and the larger pillow is then closed with any suitable closure, such as Velcro™ , for example. The user then engages in a pillow fight thus allowing the stuffer pillows to be released. After the stuffer pillows are all released from the large pillow, the user then retrieves their stuffer pillows and inserts them into the large pillow for re-use.

Pillow fights are a known stress reliever and a fun way to engage one's family and friends enjoyed by many. The Urban Playground Movement project has designated an annual International Pillow Fight Day. The present invention is an improvement over traditional pillow fights, because no mess ensues after the pillow fight.

All pillows of the present invention, large pillows and stuffer pillows, are comprised of a soft fabric materials such as cotton, felt, or other similar materials. The stuffer pillows are filled with polyester fiberfill, down or a similar stuffing. The stuffer pillows are double stitched and reinforced to ensure they do not break open during play. The larger pillows, which will be stuffed with the stuffer pillows are also double stitched and reinforced to ensure durability during play. On one end or side of the large pillow is a slotted opening which can be releasably closed with suitable means such as hook and loop fasteners to allow the release of the stuffer pillows during play.

The need for healthful recreation and interaction is essential for health and well-being. The present invention provides a device for a fun and entertaining way to enhance camaraderie and promote physical activity through friendly play.

Although this invention has been described with respect to specific embodiments, it is not intended to be limited thereto and various modifications which will become apparent to the person of ordinary skill in the art are intended to fall within the spirit and scope of the invention as described herein taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings and the appended claims.

Claims

1. A device for pillow fighting comprising a large pillow having an releasably closable opening to receive a multiplicity of small, similar, stuffer pillows.

2. The device of claim 1 wherein the large pillow is in the form a cat and the small, similar stuffer pillows are in the form of kittens.

3. The device of claim 1 wherein the large pillow is in the form of a geometric shape-such as a square, rectangle or circle, and the small, similar stuffer pillows are in the form of squares, rectangles, or circles, respectively.

4. The device of claim 1 multiplicity of wherein the multiplicity of small, similar stuffer pillows is greater than six and less than twenty.

5. The device of claim 1 wherein the releasably closable opening is closed with hook and loop fastener.

6. The device of claim 1 wherein the large pillow is in the form of a flower shape, and the small, similar stuffer pillows are in the form of small flowers or flower buds.

7. The device of claim 1 wherein the large pillow is round and is stitched to represent a basketball or soccer ball and the small, similar stuffer pillows are spherical and are stitched to represent basketballs or soccer balls, respectively.
