This application claims priority from Provisional Patent Application Ser. No. 61/615,287 filed Mar. 25, 2012.

BACKGROUND

It may be inconvenient for women to carry a purse or wallet with them at all times to hold their important belongings, especially when engaged in some form of physical activity. Women who are working out, spending time with friends, attending events or participating in any kind of activity may not want to carry a purse, yet still need to access important belongings such as a cellular telephone, photo identification, money, credit cards, personal necessities and keys. Purses can be easily misplaced or stolen, which can leave women without any of their important belongings when they need them most. A product that allows women to keep small, important belongings in a secure and discreet location on their body is necessary.

There is a need for a device that provides a discreet and secure personal mini purse/storage pocket (or pouch) for women who desire to carry small items with them in or outside of their brassiere. The present invention provides a durable, washable, lightweight, skin compatible, detachable, hands-free, personal mini purse/storage pocket or pouch designed for hidden essentials constructed with an inner liner that provides radiofrequency shielding from cell phones, tablets, mp3 players, or any other electronic device placed inside the pocket. In addition, the fabric of the pocket can either be treated with a safe skin compatible substance that repels perspiration or a perspiration liner can be placed inside the device that protects the pocket's contents from sweat. This device gives women the freedom and peace of mind that comes with knowing their belongings, such as a cellular telephone, keys, or credit cards are safe anywhere at anytime, even if they do not wish to carry a purse. Further, this device stays securely in place, and can be worn discreetly without any awkward bulging in various places inside or outside the brassiere. Women can use this device with any style of brassiere: strapless bra, sports bra, regular bra, etc. This device would be perfect for women who do not wish to and/or cannot carry a purse with them while attending events, going out dancing, participating in various activities, or working out.

The present invention discloses a detachable feminine mini purse/storage pocket that provides a discreet and secure storage pouch for women who desire to carry small items with them in or outside of their brassiere. This device gives women the freedom and peace of mind that comes with knowing their belongings, such as a cellular/smart phone, keys, or credit cards are safe anywhere at anytime, even if they do not wish to carry a purse. Further, this device stays securely in place, and can be worn discreetly without any awkward bulging in various places inside or outside the brassiere. Women can use this device with any style of brassiere: strapless bra, sports bra, halter bra, regular bra, etc.

The detachable storage pocket is designed for being inserted outside or into the cup portion or cleavage portion of a brassiere, and comprises a piece of material folded end-to-end to form a front panel and a back panel. The front panel and the back panel are secured together at their side edges to form a generally flat pocket having an open top. The detachable storage pocket further comprises a protective, flexible layer to provide radio frequency shielding that block electronic ions or rays, and a perspiration repellant/liner to protect the storage pocket's contents from moisture, both secured within an interior of the storage pocket. Furthermore, the detachable storage pocket comprises an adjustable strap and/or a clip for securing the storage pocket outside or within a cup portion of the brassiere.

Referring initially to the drawings, FIGS. 1-2 illustrate the detachable storage pocket 100 that provides a discreet and secure storage pouch for women who desire to carry small items with them in or attached to their brassieres. The detachable storage pocket 100 is designed for being inserted outside or into the cup portion or cleavage portion of a brassiere (not shown) and for securely holding small items, such as cellular telephones, money, credit cards, keys, etc., or any other suitable items as is known in the art.

The detachable storage pocket 100 comprises a piece of cloth (or fabric or material) 102 folded end-to-end to form a front panel 104 and a back panel (not shown). The front panel 104 and the back panel are secured together at side edges 106 to form a generally flat pocket having an open top 108. The front panel 104 and the back panel are secured together at side edges 106 via any suitable securing means as is known in the art, such as sewing, gluing, stapling, etc.

Typically, the piece of material or cloth 102 is rectangular in shape, however any other suitable shape can be used as is known in the art without affecting the overall concept of the invention. The piece of material 102 would generally be fabricated from nylon, cotton, rayon, spandex, polyester, cotton blends, or any other similar fabrics, etc., though any other suitable material may be used to fabricate the piece of material 102 as is known in the art without affecting the overall concept of the invention. Generally, the storage pocket 100 would be manufactured of washable, pliant fabric material suitable for wearing directly next to the skin of a user. The detachable storage pocket 100 can also comprise a variety of colors and designs to suit user and manufacturing preference.

The detachable, durable, washable, lightweight, discreet, skin compatible, personal, perspiration repellant, with radio frequency shielding, feminine, hands-free mini purse/storage pocket 100 is approximately between 3 and 7 inches long as measured from the open top 108 to the bottom end 110, and approximately between 3 and 7 inches wide as measured from opposing side edges 106, and approximately between 1/16 and 1 inches thick as measured from the front panel 104 to the back panel (not shown). Generally, the storage pocket 100 is constructed to hold its shape sufficiently, such that it is easily inserted outside or into the brassiere of a user; but the storage pocket 100 does not have to be unyielding and can function by being flexible.

The detachable mini purse/storage pocket 100 further comprises a re-usable closure (not shown) at the open top 108. The re-usable closure at least partially, if not completely secures the open top 108 of the storage pocket 100. The re-usable closure can comprise at least one of a zipper, a hook and loop, a button, a flap, a snap, a hook, a tape, etc., or any other suitable re-usable closure as is known in the art without affecting the overall concept of the invention. In addition, the detachable mini purse/storage pocket can comprise a seam around the perimeter of the opening. The seam can comprise a stiff yet flexible material such as plastic, belting, cord, etc., or any other suitable material as is known in the art that will aid in keeping the opening from sagging.

Furthermore, the detachable storage pocket 100 can comprise a protective, flexible layer (not shown) secured within an interior of the storage pocket 100 that would provide radio frequency shielding to block electronic ions or rays from any electronic devices such as cell phones, tablets, mp3 players, etc., that would be placed inside the storage pocket. The protective, flexible layer would generally be fabricated from silver, lead, copper, tungsten, polymers, etc., though any other suitable material may be used to fabricate the protective, flexible layer as is known in the art without affecting the overall concept of the invention. Typically, the protective, flexible layer is secured within an interior of the storage pocket 100, between the front panel 104 and the back panel. However, the protective, flexible layer can be secured anywhere within the interior of the storage pocket 100, as long as the layer is positioned between and creates a barrier between the user and their cellular/smart phone. The protective, flexible layer would then block any harmful electronic ions or rays coming from the cellular/smart phone toward the user.

Additionally, the detachable storage pocket 100 can comprise a perspiration repellant or liner (not shown) secured within an interior of the storage pocket 100. The perspiration repellant or liner protects the storage pocket's contents from moisture. The perspiration repellant would be sprayed on the storage pocket 100 to protect it from moisture. The perspiration liner would generally be fabricated from a natural or synthetic fabric that is laminated to or coated with a waterproofing material such as rubber, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyurethane (PU), silicone elastomer, fluoropolymers, and wax, though any other suitable material may be used to fabricate the perspiration liner as is known in the art without affecting the overall concept of the invention.

Typically, the perspiration liner is secured within an interior of the storage pocket 100, between the protective, flexible layer and the front and back panels. However, the perspiration liner can be secured anywhere within the interior of the storage pocket 100, as long as the liner is positioned between and creates a barrier between the user and the contents of the storage pocket 100. The perspiration liner would then protect the storage pocket's contents from moisture.

The detachable storage pocket 100 further comprises an adjustable strap 200 (as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3) and/or a clip 112 (as shown in FIGS. 1 and 3) for securing the storage pocket 100 outside or within a cup portion or cleavage portion of a brassiere. The adjustable strap 200 typically has an attachment device positioned at both ends of the strap 200 to secure the strap 200 to the storage pocket 100, and to secure the strap 200 to the brassiere. The clip 112 is typically a squeeze-open style clip, or any other suitable securing device as is known in the art, as long as the clip (or other securing device) attaches to any fabric without damaging it.

The storage pocket 100 can be secured to a user's brassiere via the adjustable strap 200 or the clip 112, per the user's preference, and at the location of the user's preference. Typically, the storage pocket 100 is secured either outside of the bra or in the center cleavage area or inside the upper bra near the right or left bra strap. The adjustable strap 200 and the clip 112 can also comprise a variety of colors and designs to suit user and manufacturing preference, as well as embellishments and other add-ons. Thus, the storage pocket 100 can be used with any type of brassiere, such as a regular brassiere, a strapless brassiere, a sports brassiere, a halter brassiere, etc.

FIGS. 3A-C illustrate the adjustable strap 200 and clip 112 used with the detachable storage pocket 100. As stated supra, the detachable storage pocket 100 can comprise an adjustable strap 200 (as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3) and/or a clip 112 (as shown in FIGS. 1 and 3) for securing the storage pocket 100 outside or within a cup portion or cleavage portion of a brassiere. The adjustable strap 200 is typically an elongated, generally rectangular-shaped piece of material, however any other suitable shape can be used as is known in the art. The strap 200 would generally be constructed of cotton, nylon, or other polymers, and combined with elastomers and other stretchable fabrics, though any other suitable material may be used to manufacture the strap 200 as is known in the art without affecting the overall concept of the invention.

The strap 200 can be adjustable to fit a variety of users. The strap 200 is adjustable via a slide 202, or any other suitable mechanism for allowing length adjustment of the strap 200, as is known in the art. The slides 202 are commonly made of plastic and nylon coated metal, or stainless steel, but could be made of any other suitable material as is known in the art. The slides 202 have the appearance of a typically constructed slide as is known in the art and comprises a crossbar recessed below the planes of the slides 202, which limits sliding on the strap 200. The strap 200 passes around the crossbar or directly through one of the slots of the slide 202 to a ring or other bracket 204, and returns through that slot across the crossbar and through the other slot in the slide 202 to secure the slide 202 to the strap 200.

The strap 200 further comprises a first attachment device 206 secured to the first end 208 of the strap 200 for securing the strap 200 to the storage pocket 100, and a second attachment device 210 secured to the second end 212 of the strap 200 for securing the strap 200 to the brassiere. The first attachment device 206 is an elongated member that would slide into a receiving member 214 positioned at the opening 108 of the storage pocket 100. However, any other suitable securing mechanism can be used as is known in the art without affecting the overall concept of the invention, such as a clip, a hook, a button, a snap, or a hook and loop fastener (Velcro®). The second attachment device 210 is a hook that is placed over an edge of the brassiere. However, any other suitable securing mechanism can be used as is known in the art without affecting the overall concept of the invention, such as a clip, a button, a snap, or a hook and loop fastener (Velcro®). The first attachment device 206 and the second attachment device 210 are commonly made of plastic and nylon coated metal, or stainless steel, but could be made of any other suitable material as is known in the art. Typically, the first attachment device 206 and the second attachment device 210 are secured to the strap 200 via stitching, welding, gluing, etc., or any other suitable method of securement.

The clip 112 is typically a flat clip that can be clasp-opened or a squeeze-open style clip, or any other suitable securing device as is known in the art. The clip 112 comprises a front side 216 and a back side (not shown), which are secured together to form a hinge. Additionally, the front side 216 and the back side can be an integral part of the clip 112, and the clip 112 can be manufactured as a one-piece article, without affecting the overall concept of the invention. Further, an interior part of the front and back sides of the clip 112 can comprise a non-slip grip surface, or any other suitable material for gripping and securing to a brassiere, without damaging the fabric of the brassiere.

Specifically, a user opens the clip 112 by squeezing (i.e., applying force to) the back edge 218 of the clip 112, which spreads apart the front side 216 and the back side of the clip 112, and then releasing the back edge 218 which pushes the front side 216 and the back side together, engaging the edge of the brassier and the storage pocket 100. Thus, any type of squeeze-open style or clasp-open flat clip can be used, as long as the clip (or other securing device) attaches to any type of fabric without damaging it.

The storage pocket 100 can be secured to a user's brassiere via the adjustable strap 200 or the clip 112, per the user's preference, and at the location of the user's preference. Typically, the storage pocket 100 is secured either on the outside of the bra or in the center cleavage area or inside the upper bra near the right or left bra strap. The adjustable strap 200 and the clip 112 can also comprise a variety of colors and designs to suit user and manufacturing preference, as well as embellishments and other add-ons. Specifically, the clip 112 and/or adjustable strap 200 can comprise gems, jewels, glitter, bows, animal prints, and other items and designs secured to it. Furthermore, the storage pocket 100 can be used with any type of brassiere, such as a regular brassiere, a strapless brassiere, a sports brassiere, a halter brassiere, etc.

FIGS. 4-5 illustrate the detachable storage pocket 100 in use. In operation, a user 400 would choose the color and/or specific design of the detachable storage pocket 100 that meets their needs and/or wants. The user 400 would then place articles in the storage pocket 100, such as keys, money, credit cards, cellular/smart phone, etc. The user 400 would position their cellular/smart phone in front of the protective, flexible layer to block any electronic ions or rays coming from the cellular/smart phone. The user 400 would also position the content of the storage pocket 100 in front of the perspiration liner, to protect the contents from moisture. Then, if the storage pocket 100 contains a re-usable closure, the user 400 would secure the re-usable closure, securing the contents inside the storage pocket 100.

Once the storage pocket 100 is secured, the user 400 would determine whether to attach the storage pocket 100 to the user's brassiere via a clasp 112 (as shown in FIG. 4), or via an adjustable strap 200 (as shown in FIG. 5). If a clasp 112 is used, the user 400 squeezes the back edge of the clasp, opening it and places the open clasp 112 over the top edge of the storage pocket 100 and over an edge of the user's brassier. The user 400 then releases the back edge of the clasp 112 and the clasp 112 squeezes shut, securing the storage pocket 100 to the brassiere 500. The storage pocket 100 can be secured at a location of the user's preference. Typically, the storage pocket 100 is secured to the outside of the bra or in the center cleavage area or inside the upper bra near the right or left bra strap. The clip 112 can comprise a variety of colors and designs to suit user and manufacturing preference, as well as embellishments and other add-ons, such as gems, jewels, glitter, etc.

If an adjustable strap 200 is used, the user 400 attaches the strap 200 to the brassiere 500 via a hook or snap, etc., at the end of the strap 200, and attaches the strap 200 to the storage pocket 100 via sliding an elongated member into a receiving member positioned at the opening of the storage pocket 100 or by snap, etc. The storage pocket 100 can be secured at a location of the user's preference. Typically, the storage pocket 100 is secured outside of the bra or in the center cleavage area or inside the upper bra near the right or left bra strap. The adjustable strap 200 can comprise a variety of colors and designs to suit user and manufacturing preference, as well as embellishments and other add-ons, such as gems, jewels, glitter, etc. Furthermore, the storage pocket 100 can be used with any type of brassiere, such as a regular brassiere, a strapless brassiere, a sports brassiere, a halter brassiere, etc.
