Description
TECHNICAL FIELD & BACKGROUND

Standard urinals contain built-in handles which often do not fit properly on a pair of beside rails causing difficulty for the patient when removing or fastening. A conventional solution involves the patient placing the urinal on their bedside table where breakfast, lunch and dinners are set. Comprised of an attachment for a urinal capable of effectively securing to a pair of side rails, the bedside urinal holder is a more suitable alternative to current similar traditional products.

The present invention generally relates to a urinal holder. More specifically, the invention is a bedside urinal holder.

It is an object of the invention to provide a bedside urinal holder that utilizes an attachment device that is flexible and provides a relatively better attachment to a bedrail than a similar traditional bedside urinal holder.

It is an object of the invention to provide a bedside urinal holder that is easier to handle than a similar traditional bedside urinal holder.

It is an object of the invention to provide a bedside urinal holder that is made of recycled material.

What is really needed is a bedside urinal holder that utilizes an attachment device that is flexible and provides a relatively better attachment to a bedrail than a similar traditional bedside urinal holder that is easier to handle than a similar traditional bedside urinal holder that is made of recycled material.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

The present invention will be described by way of exemplary embodiments, but not limitations, illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which like references denote similar elements, and in which:

FIG. 1A illustrates a side view of a bedside urinal holder, according to an embodiment of the present invention.

FIG. 1B illustrates a back view of a bedside urinal holder, according to an embodiment of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF ILLUSTRATIVE EMBODIMENTS

Various aspects of the illustrative embodiments will be described using terms commonly employed by those skilled in the art to convey the substance of their work to others skilled in the art. However, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that the present invention may be practiced with only some of the described aspects. For purposes of explanation, specific numbers, materials and configurations are set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding of the illustrative embodiments. However, it will be apparent to one skilled in the art that the present invention may be practiced without the specific details. In other instances, well-known features are omitted or simplified in order not to obscure the illustrative embodiments.

Various operations will be described as multiple discrete operations, in turn, in a manner that is most helpful in understanding the present invention. However, the order of description should not be construed as to imply that these operations are necessarily order dependent. In particular, these operations need not be performed in the order of presentation.

The phrase “in one embodiment” is utilized repeatedly. The phrase generally does not refer to the same embodiment, however, it may. The terms “comprising”, “having” and “including” are synonymous, unless the context dictates otherwise.

FIG. 1A illustrates a side view of a bedside urinal holder 100, according to an embodiment of the present invention. The bedside urinal holder 100 typically is utilized to secure a urinal holder to a bedside rail, but can be utilized in other suitable environments as well. The bedside urinal holder 100 is made out of recycled material and can also be used as a large cup or container holder. The bedside urinal holder 100 can also be utilized to secure a urinal holder to a stretcher as well.

The bedside urinal holder 100 includes a base 110 and an attachment device 120. The base 110 is a generally rectangular base 112 with a distal end 114 and accommodates a urinal holder (not shown) that can be removably placed on the base 110. The base 110 is approximately 11 cm in length by 10.5 cm in width but can be any suitable dimensions. The attachment device 120 is an inverted c-shaped device 122 with a top curved end 124, a bottom curved end 126 and an elongated straight portion 128 integral to the top curved end 124 and the bottom curved end 126 forming the attachment device 120. The bottom curved end 126 can be stretched in order to fit the rail properly and prevent the bedside urinal holder 100 from sliding while attached. The bottom curved end 126 is approximately 3 cm deep but can be any suitable depth. The distal end 114 of the base 110 is attached to the elongated straight portion 128 of the attachment device 120. The elongated straight portion 128 also includes an approximate 2 inch elastic linear portion 127 adjacent to the bottom curved end 126 providing flexibility to the bottom curved end 126.

FIG. 1B illustrates a rear view of a bedside urinal holder 100, according to an embodiment of the present invention. The bedside urinal holder 100 includes similar features to the bedside urinal holder 100 illustrated in FIG. 1A and includes a base 110 and an attachment device 120 and all of the supplemental elements of the base 110 and the attachment device 120. As illustrated in FIG. 1B, the base 110 is horizontally attached to the attachment device 120.

The bedside urinal holder contains a double attachment from a top and a bottom curved end. The bottom attachment is afforded the capability to be stretched in order to fit the rail properly and prevent the bedside urinal holder from sliding. The bedside urinal holder is easy to handle and makes urinals more accessible to patients while maintaining their immediate areas sanitary by keeping them off any nearby bedside tables. Hospitals, home healthcare clients with hospital beds, nursing homes specialty care services and medical equipment manufacturers are among those who will find the bedside urinal holder both secure and convenient. The bedside urinal holder features an attachment for the side rails of a bed to effectively secure a urinal that can also be fastened to a stretcher if needed. The bedside urinal holder is made out of recycled material and can also be used as a large cup or container holder.

While the present invention has been related in terms of the foregoing embodiments, those skilled in the art will recognize that the invention is not limited to the embodiments described. The present invention can be practiced with modification and alteration within the spirit and scope of the appended claims. Thus, the description is to be regarded as illustrative instead of restrictive on the present invention.
