Description
BACKGROUND OF THE PRESENT INVENTION

1. Field of Invention

The present invention relates to hunting equipment, and more particularly to a hunting blind comprising a roof assembly which is capable of selectively forming a roof opening for allowing a hunter to rapidly and easily expose himself through said opening for effectively hunting a predetermined target.

2. Description of Related Arts

A conventional hunting blind usually comprises a body frame, a roof frame, and a shading fabric attached on the body frame and the roof frame for hiding a hunter standing in the hunting blind. Very often, the shading fabric is made and painted to resemble the surrounding environment in which the hunting blind is used. The conventional hunting blind further has an opening provided on the roof frame so that the hunter may be able to normally hide in the receiving cavity. When necessary, the hunter may stand to expose himself through the opening for shooting a target.

There exist several disadvantages related to this conventional hunting blind. First, the conventional hunting blind as described above does not provide shading on the opening formed on the roof frame. Thus, although the hunter hides in the receiving cavity, the hunter is not protected from adverse weather condition. When it rains, the hunter has to abort the hunting operation and seek for shading.

Second, since the hunter only visually hides in the receiving cavity, some animal may be cautious enough to notice that there is something wrong in the hunter blind and therefore refrained from approaching the hunter blind. In this situation, the hunter blind fails to accomplish one of its important functions: not distracting targeted animal. In some situations, the animal may notice that the hunter is in the hunting blind and may even try to attack the hunter.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Referring to FIG. 1 to FIG. 3 of the drawings, a hunting blind according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention is illustrated, in which the hunting blind comprises a body assembly 10 and a roof assembly 20.

The body assembly 10 comprises a body frame 11 defining a receiving cavity 12, and a body blind 13 embedding the body frame 11 for hiding a hunter in the receiving cavity 12.

The roof assembly 20 comprises a roof frame 21 detachably attached on the body frame 11, and a roof blind 22 provided on the roof frame 21 to operate between a hiding mode and a hunting mode, wherein in the hiding mode, the roof frame 21 and the roof blind 22 are attached on the body frame 11 so as to conceal the receiving cavity 12, wherein in the hunting mode, the roof assembly 20 is operated to create a roof opening 23 for communicating the receiving cavity 12 with an exterior of the hunting blind, so that a hunter may normally hide in the receiving cavity 12 and rapidly and conveniently expose himself through the roof opening 23 for hunting a predetermined target.

According to the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the body frame 11 of the body assembly 10 comprises a plurality of elongated frame members 111 bent to form an enclosed structure having the receiving cavity 12 defined within the elongated frame members 111, wherein the body blind 13 is attached on the elongated frame members 111 for providing shading to the receiving cavity 12.

The body assembly 10 further contains at least one ventilation opening 14 provided on the body blind 13 for facilitating ventilating between the receiving cavity 12 and the ambient atmosphere. This allows the hunter hiding in the receiving cavity 12 to have sufficient air supply. In order to allow the user to selectively open the ventilation opening 14, the body assembly 10 further comprises at least one zipper element 15 operatively provided on the body blind 13 for allowing a user to selectively operate the zipper element 15 for opening or closing the ventilation opening 14 (FIG. 2 of the drawings).

Moreover, body assembly 10 further contains at least one entrance opening 16 provided on the body blind 13 for allowing the user to enter or exit the hunting blind. Thus, the body assembly 10 further comprises at least one zipper element 15 operatively provided on the body blind 13 for allowing a user to selectively operate the zipper element 15 for opening or closing the entrance opening 16.

It is worth mentioning that the body blind 13 is painted and designed to resemble the ambient environment in which the hunting blind is located. The reason is that when the hunting blind is set up in a hunting area, the aesthetic appearance and color of the hunting blind are designed not to alert the target animal.

The roof frame 21 of the roof assembly 20 comprises a plurality of elongated roof members 211 bent to form an enclosed structure, wherein the roof blind 22 is attached on the elongated roof members 211 for normally providing shielding to the receiving cavity 12. Note that the roof blind 22 is preferably painted and designed to match with the aesthetic appearance of the body blind 13 so as to provide a consistent overall appearance of the hunting blind. This minimizes the risk of altering the hunting targets when the hunting blind is placed on the hunting area.

The hunting blind further comprises a detachable arrangement 30 provided between the body assembly 10 and the roof assembly 20 for facilitating the roof assembly 20 to be detachable from the body assembly 10. More specifically, the detachable arrangement 30 comprises a plurality of body connectors 32 spacedly provided on the body assembly 10, and a plurality of roof connectors 31 spacedly provided on the roof assembly 20, wherein the body connectors 32 and the roof connectors 31 are detachably connected with each other respectively so as to detachable connect the roof assembly 20 onto the body assembly 10.

Each of the body connector 32 comprises a mounting hook 321 extended from and supported by the corresponding elongated frame members 111, whereas each of the roof connectors 31 comprises a mounting loop 311 extended from and supported by the corresponding elongated roof members 211, wherein each of the mounting hooks 321 is aligned with the corresponding mounting loop 311 so that the mounting loop 311 is capable of detachably connecting to the corresponding mounting hook 321. When the mounting hooks 321 are connected to the mounting loops 311 respectively, the roof assembly 20 is detachably mounted on top of the body assembly 10.

Thus, the roof opening 23 of the roof assembly 20 may be formed by detaching the roof assembly 20 from the body assembly 10 so that an opening is formed on top of the receiving cavity 12. On the other hand, the roof opening 23 may be formed by forming an opening on the roof assembly 20 through a predetermined operation of the elongated roof members 211 of the roof frame 21. Thus, as shown in FIG. 3 of the drawings, the elongated roof member 211 are bent to a first roof section 212 and a second roof section 213, in such a manner that the first roof section 212 is overlappedly foldable toward the second roof section 213 to form the roof opening 23 on the roof assembly 20.

Alternatively, as shown in FIG. 4 of the drawings, the roof assembly 20 further comprises a roof zipper 24 formed on the roof blind 22 so as to allow a portion of the roof blind 22 to be opened through the roof zipper 24 and outwardly fold toward the remaining portion of the roof blind 22 so as to create the roof opening 23. In such a situation, the user is able to expose himself or herself out of the hunting blind through the roof opening 23.

The roof zipper 24 is capable of being selectively opened and closed so as to allow the user to selectively open or close the roof zipper 24 for exposing himself through the roof opening 23 or to hide himself into the body assembly 10.

One skilled in the art will understand that the embodiment of the present invention as shown in the drawings and described above is exemplary only and not intended to be limiting.

It will thus be seen that the objects of the present invention have been fully and effectively accomplished. It embodiments have been shown and described for the purposes of illustrating the functional and structural principles of the present invention and is subject to change without departure from such principles. Therefore, this invention includes all modifications encompassed within the spirit and scope of the following claims.
