Abdomen Exerciser

An abdomen exerciser includes a main frame and a support frame which is pivotally connected with the main frame. The main frame and the support frame can be placed on the ground stably. The main frame has an inclined section which is pivotally connected with a dual link rod to support a back rest and to link a seat platform. The seat platform is connected with a rotatable seat. The support frame is pivotally connected with a foot frame which is disposed in front of the support frame and confined by a resilient rope or a spring. When the user lies down and sits up, the back rest is returned to the original position by the seat platform and the dual link rod, without using the spring or the resilient rope. The foot frame can be used for leg exercise.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to an abdomen exerciser, and more particularly to an abdomen exerciser which can exercise the abdomen muscles, stretch the back and exercise the leg muscles.

2. Description of the Prior Art

A conventional abdomen exerciser is used for sit-ups, which can exercise waist and abdomen muscles. However, it cannot help the motion to stretch the waist. After the user lies down and sits up, the back rest is returned to its original position by means of a spring for the user to exercise the abdomen muscles. The conventional abdomen exerciser has the following shortcomings.

1. The back rest of the abdomen exerciser is pulled upright by the spring. The additional spring increases the cost and is dangerous because it is exposed.

2. The foot frame at the front end of the abdomen exerciser is fixed, which cannot be used for leg exercise.

3. The height of the seat is in a fixed way. The effect to stretch the back is limited. The restore force of the spring assists the user in sit-ups, which influences the effect to exercise the abdomen muscles.

Accordingly, the inventor of the present invention has devoted himself based on his many years of practical experiences to solve this problem.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The primary object of the present invention is to provide an abdomen exerciser. The abdomen exerciser of the present invention comprises a main frame and a support frame which is pivotally connected with the main frame. The main frame and the support frame can be placed on the ground stably. The main frame has an inclined section which is pivotally connected with a dual link rod to support a back rest and to link a seat platform. The seat platform is connected with a rotatable seat. Both sides of a rear end of the seat platform are connected with a pair of grasp rods for the user to grasp thereon when sitting on the seat to swing his/her lower body. The support frame is pivotally connected with a foot frame which is disposed in front of the support frame and confined by a resilient rope. The main frame has a turning section which is pivotally connected with the support frame. The seat platform has a front end which is pivotally connected to the main frame through a first shaft. The seat platform comprises a transverse stop rod which is located under the seat platform to straddle on the main frame to keep the seat platform in a level state. The seat is connected to the seat platform through a rotation shaft so that the seat can be rotated freely. The seat platform has a rear end which is pivotally connected with the front ends of left and right pull rods through a second shaft. The rear ends of the left and right pull rods are pivotally connected to the lower end of a middle post of the back rest through a third shaft. The back rest is provided with a pivot seat close to the lower end thereof. The upper end of a support rod is pivotally connected to the pivot seat through a fourth shaft. The lower end of the support rod is pivotally connected to a fixing seat on the main frame through a fifth shaft. The upper ends of left and right driving rods are pivotally connected to the middle sections of the left and right pull rods through a sixth shaft. The lower ends of the left and right driving rods are pivotally connected to the front ends of left and right driven rods through a seventh shaft. The rear ends of left and right driven rods are pivotally connected to the inclined section of the main frame through an eighth shaft. The seventh shaft is located under the inclined section of the main frame and has a distance from the inclined section of the main frame. The user sits on the seat and leans against the back rest, with his/her feet to hold against a foot rod of the foot frame. When the user lies down, the middle post has the fourth shaft of the support rod as the pivot to move the left and right pull rods upward through the third shaft and the left and right driven rods are also moved upward. The seventh shaft is stopped by the inclined section of the main frame to raise the seat platform. In another word, the seat is to raise the hip of the user for the user to stretch his/her waist and back. When the user sits up and the back rest returns to the original position, the seat platform is lowered until the stop rod gets contact with the inclined section of the main frame so that the seat is moved to the level position. The left and right pull rods are pressed downward by the seat platform to link the left and right driving rods to pull the back rest back. By repeating the aforesaid action, the user can exercise the abdomen muscles without using the restore force of a spring or a resilient rope. The present invention can enhance the effect to stretch the back.

Preferably, the support frame at the front end of the main frame comprises a first joint at a rear end thereof. The first joint is fitted on the front end of the main frame and connected by a pivot shaft inserting through the front end of the main frame. A lock bolt is vertically inserted in the first joint and the front end of the main frame to position the first joint and the front end of the main frame. When the lock bolt is loosened, the support frame can be bent or detached from the main frame. Through the pivot shaft, the main frame can be steadily connected in the first joint or bent for storage.

Preferably, the support frame comprises a leg rod at an upper end thereof and a second joint at the front end of the leg rod. The foot frame is connected to the second joint through a positioning shaft inserting in the second joint and the upper end of the foot frame. The foot rod is transversely connected to the lower end of the foot frame. A first pulley is provided on the foot frame above the foot rod. A second pulley is provided on the support frame, corresponding in position to the first pulley. The resilient rope winds around the first pulley and the second pulley. One end of the resilient rope is fixed to a first positioning seat on the front side of the foot frame, and the other end of the resilient rope is fixed to a second positioning seat on the rear side of the support frame. The foot frame can be turned up and down with the positioning shaft of the second joint as a pivot, cooperating with the elastic rope, for lifting leg exercise.

Preferably, the second joint of the support frame has a first through hole, and the foot frame has a second through hole corresponding to the first through hole. A pin is inserted into the first through hole and the second through hole to position the foot frame in place. When the pin is taken out, the foot frame can be turned up and down for lifting leg exercise.

The present invention has the following advantages.

1. The abdomen exerciser of the present invention not only facilitates the exercise to raise the hip but also enhances the effect to stretch the user's back and to exercise the abdomen muscles.

2. When the user lies down and sits up, the back rest is returned to the original position by the seat platform and the dual link rod, without using the spring or the resilient rope. The abdomen exerciser of the present invention is cost-effective and has no risk of damaging the user.

3. The foot frame of the present invention can be used for leg exercise.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Embodiments of the present invention will now be described, by way of example only, with reference to the accompanying drawings.

As shown in FIG. 1, an abdomen exerciser 1 according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a main frame 11 and a support frame 12 which is pivotally connected with the main frame 11. The main frame 11 and the support frame 12 can be placed on the ground stably. The main frame 11 has an inclined section which is pivotally connected with a dual link rod 3 to support a back rest 2 and to link a seat platform 4. The seat platform 4 is connected with a rotatable seat 41. Both sides of a rear end of the seat platform 4 are connected with a pair of grasp rods 42 for the user to grasp thereon when sitting on the seat 41 to swing his/her lower body. Referring to FIG. 3, the support frame 12 is pivotally connected with a foot frame 120 which is disposed in front of the support frame 12 and confined by a resilient rope 1202.

Referring to FIG. 1, FIG. 2 and FIG. 4, the main frame 11 has a turning section which is pivotally connected with the support frame 12. The seat platform 4 has a front end which is pivotally connected to the main frame 11 through a first shaft 51. The seat platform 4 comprises a transverse stop rod 43 which is located under the seat platform 4 to straddle on the main frame 1 to keep the seat platform 4 in a level state. The seat 41 is connected to the seat platform 4 through a rotation shaft 44 so that the seat 41 can be rotated freely. The seat platform 4 has a rear end which is pivotally connected with the front ends of left and right pull rods 31, 31′ through a second shaft S2. The rear ends of the left and right pull rods 31, 31′ are pivotally connected to the lower end of a middle post 21 of the back rest 2 through a third shaft S3. The back rest 2 is provided with a pivot seat 22 close to the lower end thereof. The upper end of a support rod 23 is pivotally connected to the pivot seat 22 through a fourth shaft S4. The lower end of the support rod 23 is pivotally connected to a fixing seat 111 on the main frame 11 through a fifth shaft S5. The upper ends of left and right driving rods 32, 32′ are pivotally connected to the middle sections of the left and right pull rods 31, 31′ through a sixth shaft S6. The lower ends of the left and right driving rods 32, 32′ are pivotally connected to the front ends of left and right driven rods 33, 33′ through a seventh shaft S7. The rear ends of left and right driven rods 33, 33′ are pivotally connected to the inclined section of the main frame 11 through an eighth shaft S8. The seventh shaft S7 is located under the inclined section of the main frame 11 and has a distance from the inclined section of the main frame 11.

Referring to FIG. 1 to FIG. 5, the user sits on the seat 41 and leans against the back rest 2, with his/her feet to hold against a foot rod 1201 of the foot frame 120, as shown in FIG. 4. When the user lies down, the middle post 21 has the fourth shaft S4 of the support rod 23 as the pivot to move the left and right pull rods 31, 31′ upward through the third shaft S3 and the left and right driven rods 33, 33′ are also moved upward. The seventh shaft S7 is stopped by the inclined section of the main frame 11 to raise the seat platform 4. In another word, the seat 41 is to raise the hip of the user for the user to stretch his/her waist and back, as shown in FIG. 5. When the user sits up and the back rest 2 returns to the original position, the seat platform 4 is lowered until the stop rod 43 gets contact with the inclined section of the main frame 11 so that the seat 41 is moved to the level position. The left and right pull rods 31, 31′ are pressed downward by the seat platform 4 to link the left and right driving rods 32, 32′ to pull the back rest 2 back. By repeating the aforesaid action, the user can exercise the abdomen muscles without using the restore force of a spring or a resilient rope. The present invention can enhance the effect to stretch the back.

Referring to FIG. 1 to FIG. 3, the support frame 12 at the front end of the main frame 11 comprises a first joint 121 at a rear end thereof. The first joint 121 is fitted on the front end of the main frame 11 and connected by a pivot shaft 122 inserting through the front end of the main frame. A lock bolt 123 is vertically inserted in the first joint 121 and the front end of the main frame 11 to position the first joint 121 and the front end of the main frame 11. When the lock bolt 123 is loosened, the support frame 12 can be bent or detached from the main frame 11. Through the pivot shaft 122, the main frame 11 can be steadily connected in the first joint 121 or bent for storage.

Referring to FIG. 2 and FIG. 3, the support frame 12 comprises a leg rod 124 at an upper end thereof and a second joint 125 at the front end of the leg rod 124. The foot frame 120 is connected to the second joint 125 through a positioning shaft 126 inserting in the second joint 125 and the upper end of the foot frame 120. The foot rod 1201 is transversely connected to the lower end of the foot frame 120. A first pulley 1203 is provided on the foot frame 120 above the foot rod 1201. A second pulley 127 is provided on the support frame 12, corresponding in position to the first pulley 1203. The resilient rope 1202 winds around the first pulley 1203 and the second pulley 127. One end of the resilient rope 1202 is fixed to a first positioning seat 1206 on the front side of the foot frame 120, and the other end of the resilient rope 1202 is fixed to a second positioning seat 128 on the rear side of the support frame 12. The foot frame 120 can be turned up and down with the positioning shaft 126 of the second joint 125 as a pivot, cooperating with the elastic rope 1202, for lifting leg exercise.

Referring to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, the second joint 125 of the support frame 12 has a first through hole 1251, and the foot frame 120 has a second through hole 1204 corresponding to the first through hole 1251. A pin 1205 is inserted into the first through hole 1251 and the second through hole 1204 to position the foot frame 120 in place, as shown in FIG. 1. When the pin 1205 is taken out, the foot frame 120 can be turned up and down for lifting leg exercise, as shown in FIG. 2.

Although particular embodiments of the present invention have been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. Accordingly, the present invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.

Claims

1. An abdomen exerciser, comprising a main frame and a support frame which is pivotally connected with the main frame, the main frame having an inclined section and comprising a seat platform thereon, the seat platform being connected with a rotatable seat, two sides of a rear end of the seat platform being connected with a pair of grasp rods for a user to grasp thereon when sitting on the seat to swing his/her lower body, the support frame comprising a leg rod at an upper end thereof and a foot rod at a lower end thereof; and characterized in that the abdomen exerciser comprises:

the seat platform, the seat platform having a front end which is pivotally connected to the main frame through a first shaft, the seat platform comprising a transverse stop rod which is located under the seat platform to straddle on the main frame to keep the seat platform in a level state;
left and right pull rods, front ends of the left and right pull rods being pivotally connected to a rear end of the seat platform through a second shaft, rear ends of the left and right pull rods being pivotally connected to a lower end of a middle post of a back rest through a third shaft;
a support rod, an upper end of the support rod being pivotally connected to a pivot seat provided on a lower end of the back rest through a fourth shaft, a lower end of the support rod being pivotally connected to a fixing seat on the main frame through a fifth shaft;
left and right driving rods, upper ends of the left and right driving rods being pivotally connected to middle sections of the left and right pull rods through a sixth shaft, lower ends of the left and right driving rods being pivotally connected to front ends of left and right driven rods through a seventh shaft;
rear ends of the left and right driven rods being pivotally connected to the inclined section of the main frame through an eighth shaft, the seventh shaft being located under the inclined section of the main frame and having a distance from the inclined section of the main frame;
wherein, the user sits on the seat and leans against the back rest with his/her feet to hold against the foot rod of the foot frame, when the user lies down, the middle post has the fourth shaft of the support rod as a pivot to move the left and right pull rods, upward through the third shaft and the left and right driven rods are also moved upward, the seventh shaft is stopped by the inclined section of the main frame to raise the seat platform, the seat is to raise the hip of the user for the user to stretch his/her waist and back, when the user sits up and the back rest returns to the original position, the seat platform is lowered until the stop rod gets contact with the inclined section of the main frame so that the seat is moved to the level position, the left and right pull rods are pressed downward by the seat platform to link the left and right driving rods to pull the back rest back.

The abdomen exerciser as claimed in claim 1, wherein the support frame comprises a first joint at a rear end thereof, the first joint is fitted on the front end of the main frame and connected by a pivot shaft inserting through the front end of the main frame, a lock bolt is vertically inserted in the first joint and the front end of the main frame to position the first joint and the front end of the main frame, when the lock bolt is loosened, the support frame can be bent or detached from the main frame, the main frame can be steadily connected in the first joint or bent for storage through the pivot shaft.

The abdomen exerciser as claimed in claim 1, wherein a second joint is provided at a front end of the leg rod, the foot frame is connected to the second joint through a positioning shaft inserting in the second joint and an upper end of the foot frame, the foot rod is transversely connected to a lower end of the foot frame, a first pulley is provided on the foot frame above the foot rod, a second pulley is provided on the support frame corresponding in position to the first pulley, the resilient rope winds around the first pulley and the second pulley, one end of the resilient rope is fixed to a first positioning seat on a front side of the foot frame, another end of the resilient rope is fixed to a second positioning seat on a rear side of the support frame, the foot frame can be turned up and down with the positioning shaft of the second joint as a pivot, cooperating with the elastic rope, for leg exercise.

4. The abdomen exerciser as claimed in claim 3, wherein the second joint of the support frame has a first through hole, the foot frame has a second through hole corresponding to the first through hole, a pin is inserted into the first through hole and the second through hole to position the foot frame in place, when the pin is taken out, the foot frame can be turned up and down for leg exercise.
