CORNER STRIKE

The invention is to help aspiring pitchers develop a better approach to pitching in three ways. 1) Enables pitchers to focus on the part of the plate where they want to throw the pitch. 2) Makes it easier for the pitcher to communicate with the catcher concerning location. 3) Visually reprimands the pitcher for throwing pitches in the wrong location.

Description

Pentagon shaped two sided flexible plastic mold in the shape of home plate in the game of baseball/softball. The product can be placed directly on top of home plate or placed on the ground to replicate home plate. It is NOT meant to be used as home plate because it is not attached firmly to the ground. This two sided mold is used to help pitchers visualize throwing pitches to the proper location during baseball or softball games.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

This product is developed for the pitchers of baseball and softball to improve their ability to throw pitches to the corner (edges) of the plate.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

To help pitchers during warm ups or practice to focus throwing their pitches in the proper location on either side of the plate.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Pentagon shaped two sided rubber pad, ⅛th inch thick in the shape of baseball/softball home plate. The top side has a red strip in the middle 13″ wide. Two white stripes are on the edges are 2″ wide.

The bottom side has a green strip in the middle 13″ wide. Two white stripes are on the edges are 2″ wide.

Claims

1. The side with the red on it is to visually tell the pitcher not to throw the pitch over this area of the plate. The pitcher should target the white area of the plate. (Corner Strike).

The side with the green on it is for beginning pitchers to visually tell the pitcher to throw the pitch over this area of the plate. As the pitcher improves his/her accuracy, the pad can flipped over to show the side with the red and white to allow the pitcher to pitch properly to the corners.
