Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a water stopper plug for sink, and more particularly to a water stopper plug that can be used in a water stopper base of any sizes.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Conventionally, a water stopping head (70) of a water stopping head base (60) can be shown in FIGS. 7 and 8, which includes a main body (71), a fixed rod (72), a water stopping plug (73) and a nut (74). A receiving space (711) is recessedly formed in the main body (71), and a plurality of water filtering holes (712) are in the receiving space (711). A through hole (713) is formed at the bottom surface of the receiving space (711), and the through hole (713) can be used to secure the fixed rod (72). The fixed rod (72) is enlarged in the middle section to form a stopping edge (721), and a locking pole (722) extends from an upper portion of the fixed rod (72) to pass through a central through hole (731) of the water stopping plug (73) and into the through hole (713) of the water stopper body (71). The locking pole (722) is locked in the receiving space (711) with the nut (74), so that the water stopping plug (73) can be disposed between the bottom surface of the main body (71) and the stopping edge (721) of the fixed rod (72). A ladder-shaped head (723) located at a lower portion of the fixed rod (72) can poke through a rotating hole (62) in a water discharging space (61) of the water stopping base (60).

When in use, the water stopping head (70) is disposed in the water discharging space (61) of the water stopper base (60), so the water stopping plug (73) can be used to block the entire water discharging space (61) and the dirty water in the sink cannot be discharged. Meanwhile, the impurities in the dirty water will be slowly deposited in the receiving space (711) of the main body (71) to prevent the dirty water from being directly discharged to clog water pipes. After the impurities are effectively deposited, the user can use the nut (74) in the receiving space (711) to pull out the water stopping head (70). With the water discharging channel that can be temporarily closed and the water stopping head (70) with filtering function, the water pipe can remain clean and unblocked to prevent the growth of cockroaches and mosquitoes.

However, conventional water stopping heads may have problems such as (i) there are plenty of sinks and water stopper bases (60) on the market, the water discharging space (61) of different sizes cause a problem to the customer to choose the water stopping plug (73) of the same size. The customer may have bought the water stopping plug (73) that does not match the water stopper bases (60), so he/she may have to return or change; (ii) the manufacturers may have to manufacture the water stopping plug (73) with several different sizes, and each size needs its corresponding mold, which would increase the manufacturing costs and inventory. Therefore, there remains a need of a new and improved water stopping head to overcome the problems illustrated above.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The problem to solve in the present invention is that conventionally the plug of the water stopping head for sink cannot be used for the water discharging space with different sizes.

To solve the problem presented above, the present invention provides a water stopper for sink that is used in a water stopper base including a water stopper body, a fixed rod, a plug and a pulling head. A receiving space is recessedly formed in the water stopper body, and a plurality of water filtering holes are in the receiving space. A through hole is located at a bottom surface of the receiving space to secure the insertion of the fixed rod, and the fixed rod is enlarged in the middle section to form a stopping edge. A locking pole extends from an upper portion of the fixed rod to pass through a central through hole of the plug and into the through hole of the water stopper body. The pulling head can then lock the locking pole from the receiving space to enable the plug to be disposed between the bottom surface of the water stopper body and the stopping edge of the fixed rod, and a ladder-shaped head located at a lower portion of the fixed rod can poke through a rotating hole in a water discharging space of the water stopping base. The plug is a rubber block having a through opening in the central portion thereof, and a trough is upwardly formed from the bottom surface of the plug. With the trough, the plug is able to sustain pressure from every side due to its resilient reformation. A circular protrusion is formed at an enlarged periphery of the plug, so that the lower portion of circular protrusion forms a guiding section, the rear end of which is tapered toward the trough to form a curved bottom edge.

Comparing with the conventional arts, the present invention is advantageous because (i) with the formation of the trough, the plug can be resiliently deformed, so the plug can be used in the water stopper base of any sizes, and it is convenient for the customers to purchase. Also, since the plug can be provided for most water stopper bases, it is easier and more convenient to assemble; and (ii) since the plug can be provided for most water stopper bases, the number of plug with different sizes can be reduced to lower the costs of the mold and reduce inventory.

In order to further understand the goal, characteristics and effect of the present invention, a number of embodiments along with the drawings are illustrated as following:

Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the present invention provides a water stopper for sink that is used in a water stopper base (10) including a water stopper body (20), a fixed rod (30), a plug (40) and a pulling head (50). A receiving space (21) is recessedly formed in the water stopper body (20), and a plurality of water filtering holes (22) are in the receiving space (21). A through hole (23) is located at a bottom surface of the receiving space (21) to secure the insertion of the fixed rod (30), and the fixed rod (30) is enlarged in the middle section to form a stopping edge (31). A locking pole (32) extends from an upper portion of the fixed rod (30) to pass through a central through hole (41) of the plug (40) and into the through hole (23) of the water stopper body (20). The pulling head (50) can then lock the locking pole (32) from the receiving space (21) to enable the plug (40) to be disposed between the bottom surface of the water stopper body (20) and the stopping edge (31) of the fixed rod (30), and a ladder-shaped head (33) located at a lower portion of the fixed rod (30) can poke through a rotating hole (12) in a water discharging space (11) of the water stopping base (10). The plug (40) is a rubber block having a through opening (41) in the central portion thereof, and a trough (42) is upwardly formed from the bottom surface of the plug (40). With the trough (42), the plug (40) is able to sustain pressure from every side due to its resilient reformation. A circular protrusion (43) is formed at an enlarged periphery of the plug (40), so that the lower portion of circular protrusion (43) forms a guiding section (44), the rear end of which is tapered toward the trough (42) to form a curved bottom edge (45).

When in use, the water stopper is disposed in the water discharging space (11) of the water stopper base (10), so the plug (40) can be used to block the entire water discharging space (11) and the dirty water in the sink cannot be discharged. Meanwhile, the impurities in the dirty water will be slowly deposited in the receiving space (21) of the water stopper body (20) to prevent the dirty water from being directly discharged to clog water pipes. After the impurities are effectively deposited, the user can use the pulling head (50) in the receiving space (21) to pull out the water stopper. With the water discharging channel that can be temporarily closed and the water stopper with filtering function, the water pipe can remain clean and unblocked to prevent the growth of cockroaches and mosquitoes.

Furthermore, with the formation of the trough (42), the plug (40) can be resiliently deformed, so the plug (40) can not only be used in the water stopper base (10) with a larger water discharging space (11) (see FIGS. 3 and 4), but also in the water stopper base (10) with a smaller water discharging space (11) (see FIGS. 5 and 6). When in use, the bottom edge (45) and guiding section (44) with smaller diameters contact the water discharging space (11) in order, so that the lower portion of the plug (40) is pressed by the water discharging space (11) to retract and the plug (40) can be successfully inserted. After the plug (40) is inserted, the circular protrusion (43) can be tightly attach to the wall of the water discharging space (11) due to the resilience and the water discharging space (11) can be completely blocked by the plug (40), so the impurities can be filtered in the sink.

Comparing with the conventional arts, the present invention is advantageous because (i) with the formation of the trough (42), the plug (40) can be resiliently deformed, so the plug (40) can be used in the water stopper base (10) of any sizes, and it is convenient for the customers to purchase. Also, since the plug (40) can be provided for most water stopper bases (10), it is easier and more convenient to assemble; and (ii) since the plug (40) can be provided for most water stopper bases (10), the number of plug with different sizes can be reduced to lower the costs of the mold and reduce inventory.

Having described the invention by the description and illustrations above, it should be understood that these are exemplary of the invention and are not to be considered as limiting. Accordingly, the invention is not to be considered as limited by the foregoing description, but includes any equivalents.
