Magnetic Golf Glove Holder

During the game of golf, it is customary to periodically remove the glove from the golfer's hand in between shots or during putting. This invention helps a golfer by making the glove readily available by keeping the glove by the side of the golfer without the need to place the glove inside of a pocket. Thus extending the life of the glove by allowing it to maintain its natural form.

CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention generally relates to a magnetic golf glove holder. More particularly, the present invention relates to two-clip system that helps keep the golfers glove readily available during game play.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

During an average round of golf, it is customary to remove the golfers glove in between shots or during putting. The most common means of storing the golf glove when it is not being worn is to put the glove into the back pocket. This act will result in a golf glove that is crumpled and moist due to perspiration. Thus shortening the life of the glove.

Placing the glove in the pocket also poses another problem as it relates to the seamless flow of the golf game. The awkward removal, storage and retrieval method previously mentioned tends to cause minute delays to the natural flow of the game.

The present invention helps to satisfy both of the aforementioned problems by providing a rapidly accessible storage means for the golfers glove. By utilizing a series of clips with integral high strength magnets; the larger of the two clips is placed onto the users belt or waistband while the smaller clip is attached to the golf glove itself. Both of the two clips are now attracted to one another by way of the integral magnets. The strength of the joining of the two magnets is sufficient enough to hold the weight of the glove with movement. However, with a simple amount of overpull from the user, the glove can be removed for normal usage.

There are presently no products on the market that offer this type of holder for the golf glove.

Accordingly, there is a need for a rapidly accessible, magnetic golf glove holder to help expedite the natural flow of the golf game and extend the life of the golf glove.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The magnetic golf glove holder is designed to help extend the life of a golf glove by eliminating the need to place the glove in the pocket in between shots and make it readily available during game play.

The magnetic golf glove holder is comprised of two metallic clips. The belt clip is formed by bending a thin metal strip into a clip shape in such a size that it could slide over a users belt or waistband. A high strength magnet is then attached to the exterior of the said clip by use of an adhesive or bonding. The glove clip is formed by bending a small thin metal strip over until the two edges nearly meet. These edges may have a saw tooth pattern for better adhesion to the glove material. A high strength magnet is then attached to the exterior of said clip in such as way that polarity of the two clip magnets attract one another.

In this representation, the small glove clip can be stretched open to accommodate the golf glove fabric and then squeezed tight to firmly crimp the glove. It is important to note that the glove clip should be oriented in such a manner that the magnet is facing outward, away from the body. The large belt clip is then slide over the users belt or waistband with the magnet again facing outwards. The glove clip should now be attracted to the belt clip.

Other features and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following more detailed description, when taken into conjunction with the accompanying drawings, which illustrate, by way of example, the principles of the invention.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1. shows an assembled isometric view of an exemplary embodiment of the invention's belt clip;

FIG. 2. shows an assembled isometric view of an exemplary embodiment of the invention's glove clip.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.

Broadly, an embodiment of the present invention generally provides a magnetic golf glove holder. Current products are not intended to hold the golf glove by the side of the golfer during game play via the use of magnetically attracted clips.

FIG. 1 Shows an assembled isometric view of an exemplary embodiment of the invention's belt clip. The belt clip may include a high strength magnet (1) and metallic belt clip (2) that is formed in such a way that it will slid onto the users belt or waistband.

FIG. 2 Show an assembled isometric view of an exemplary embodiment of the invention's glove clip. The glove clip may include a high strength magnet (1) and metallic glove clip that is formed in such a way that it can be slid over the users glove and pressed together to firmly adhere to the glove.

In an exemplary embodiment, the user would start by placing the glove clip onto the glove. Next, the belt clip would be worn on the waistband or belt in such a way that the magnet is facing away from the body. Lastly, the user would take the glove with the now attached glove clip and join the integrated magnet to the magnet of the belt clip. This magnetic force is sufficient enough to hold the glove in-place during game play and while the user is in motion.

In an exemplary embodiment, the metallic belt clip and glove clip may be replaced with a plastic material whilst maintaining the magnetic features. In this embodiment, both clips would also serve the same function as previously described.

In an exemplary embodiment, the magnets may be replaced with a series of mating clips that rely on mechanical attachment instead of the previously mentioned magnetic force. These mating clips would serve the same purpose of retaining the golf glove by the users side during game play.

In an exemplary embodiment, the two-clip systems may be used to retain other objects by the users side such as; mechanics gloves, shop towel, cooking towel, oven mitt and fishing accessories

It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.

Claims

1. A two-clip glove holder system comprised of the following:

a large belt clip with an integral magnet; and
a small glove clip with an integral magnet;
designed to create a magnetic attraction between the two clips for the purpose of holding said glove by the side of the golfer.

2. The two-clip glove holder system according to claim 1, wherein the large belt clip is able to clip onto the golfers belt or waist band.

3. The two-clip glove holder system according to claim 1, wherein the small glove clip is able to be temporarily secured onto the golfers glove by separating the bent metal clip then pressing to engage opposing serrated teeth with the glove fabric.

4. The two-clip glove holder system according to claim 1, wherein the integral magnets of the two clips are then drawn together by way of a strong magnetic attraction.

5. A two-clip accessory system comprised of the following:

a large clip with an integral magnet; and
a small clip with an integral magnet;
designed to create a magnetic attraction between the two clips for the purpose of holding an accessory in-place.

6. The two-clip accessory system according to claim 5, wherein the large clip is attached to a fixed point.

7. The two-clip accessory system according to claim 5, wherein the small clip is secured to a small accessory such as a towel or scorecard by separating the bent metal clip then pressing the engage opposing serrated teeth with the accessory for the purpose of keeping said accessory in an easily accessible place.
