Protective Gear for Body
The present invention provides an improved protective gear comprising an elastic base layer and at least one constraining layer to provide a constraining force. The constraining layers are interlaced on one side of the base layer, and the two ends of the base layer, away from said one side of the constraining layer, are surrounded by at least one elastic securing portion exhibiting a resisting force. As the user wearing the protective gear of the present invention performs activities, the constraining layers can generate a four-way elastic constraining force to provide suitable supports to the joins and cartilages extended or contracted due to the movements of the body while the elastic securing portion is able to secure the present invention on the body part without slippage such that the present invention provides a durable gear capable of providing protections to users to prevent injuries caused by join twisting or muscle spasm.
The present invention is related to protective gear, in particular, to an improved protective gear for a body that is durable to frequent uses including wears and washes and is provided to prevent body injuries including such as join twisting and muscle spasm.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PRIOR ARTMost athletics use bandages or stripes to wind around parts of the body muscle or joins to reinforce the body parts; however, such winding usually requires consistent and repetitive interlacing at the target area in order to create a stable and secure winding, causing a certain level of interference to the degree of freedoms or movements to be performed by the athletics or users. In addition, the techniques involved in such winding of bandages or stripes can greatly influence the mobility, comfort and protection of the athletics or users, and those incapable of skillfully winding the body parts with the bandages or stripes, the wound parts are likely to become loose during the activities. Furthermore, the winding of bandages or stripes is likely to cause mal-circulation of the blood to the wounded parts.
To overcome the abovementioned drawbacks, known elastic protective gear have been introduced to the market and are of various types according to different designs offered by the makers, which can be categorized into two main forms of a sleeve-on type and a constraining type. The sleeve-on type is manufactured directly to be of an elastic soft tube form provided for the body parts, including such as the arms and legs, of the user to sleeve on directly through the central hollow portion of the soft tube in order to secure and wear the tube at the part requiring protections such that the user is able to apply pressure to the area where such tube is worn. The constraining type is manufactured to be an elastic sheet having at least one securing stripe for constrains on one side thereof such that he elastic sheet can be wound around body parts of the user, such as the arms and legs, with the securement provided by the securing stripe to firmly secure and hold the elastic sheet on the part of the body requiring protection in order to apply pressure to the secured area. Nevertheless, despite the fact that the protective gears of either the sleeve-on type or the constraining type are able to provide a uniform pressure at the wound body part or area, they fail to provide sufficient protection to the joins or moving parts of the body, including as such ligaments and cartilages of the knees or joins.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONIn view of the aforementioned drawbacks of the known protective gears, after a great effort of researches, data collections and experiments with years of experience in the field, the inventor provides an improved protective gear durable to frequent uses including wears and washes and can be used to prevent sports or body injuries including such as ankle twisting and muscle spasm.
An objective of the present invention is to: provide a protective gear with an enhanced durability in wears and washes of the gear such that the lifetime of protective gear is advantageously increased.
Another objective of the present invention is to: provide protections to users from injuries including such as ankle twisting and muscle spasm caused by different types of activities.
To achieve abovementioned objective, the main structure of an improved protective gear for a body of the present invention comprises an elastic base layer and at least one constraining layer interlaced with said base layer on one side thereof to provide constraining forces. Furthermore, the constraining layer can be interlaced with said base layer symmetrically or unsymmetrical on said one side thereof. The two ends of said base layer, away from said one side of the constraining layer, can be respectively surrounded by at least one elastic securing portion exhibiting a resisting force. As the user wears the protective gear of the present invention to perform certain movements or actions, the elastic securing portion is able to prevent the protective gear from slipping off the initially worn area while the constraining layer is able to exert a four-way elastic constraining force onto the worn area of the protective gear on the user such that the functional transformation or extension along the directions required can be advantageously coordinated to provide suitable supports to the joins and cartilages being extended or contracted due to the movements and activities of the body and such that injuries caused by stretching or twisting of the body muscle can be prevented. Therefore, with the aforementioned technical solution of the present invention, the problem associated with existing or known elastic protective gears as being unable to provide sufficiently reinforced protection to important joins and fragile parts of ligaments and cartilages can be effectively solved, and an improved protective gear for a body that is durable to frequent uses including wears and washes can be advantageously provided to prevent body injures including such as ankle twisting and muscle spasm.
Nevertheless, it can be understood that the abovementioned preferred embodiment is provided for illustrative purpose only and the scope of the present invention shall not be limited to the details of the embodiment only. Any obvious changes and equivalent structural modifications to the technical content of the present invention including the accompanied drawings shall be considered to be within the scope of the present invention. The abovementioned embodiments demonstrate only the principles of the present invention and shall not be limited to such embodiments only.
In view of the present invention along with the accompanied drawings and in comparison to the known protective gears or arts, the present invention demonstrates the following merits of:
1. by interlacing the constraining layer 2 with the base layer 1 on one side thereof to provide a constraining force, the improved effect of providing a durable protective gear for wear and washes is advantageously achieved;
2. by interlacing the constraining layer 2 with the base layer 1 on one side thereof, the improved effect of providing a protective gear capable of preventing injuries caused by twisting or muscle spasm is advantageously achieved;
3. by interlacing the constraining layer 2 symmetrically or asymmetrically, the improved effect of providing a protective gear that can be used for protection of different body parts or different objects is advantageously achieved;
4. by providing the constraining layer 2 and the elastic securing portion 12 with a four-way elastic constraining force, the base layer 1 can be made thinner with greater air permeability such that the improved effect of allowing the user to wear or attach the protective gear of the present invention with great ease and having great air permeability is advantageously achieved;
5. by providing the constraining layer 2 and the elastic securing portion 12 with a four-way elastic constraining force on the worn body part, the blood circulation of the body of the user is unaffected and the user is relief from discomforts of inadequate pressure or interferences during movements such that the improved effects of providing a protective gear that is comfortable and responsive to the user is advantageously achieved.
