Exfoliating Washcloth

The present invention is a bathing implement for use in cleansing and exfoliating the body. It is constructed of layers of flexible, water permeable, quick-drying materials, sewn together, which provide the bather with a convenient and enjoyable means of washing the body, exfoliating the skin, and reaching those areas of the back which other implements, such as a back brush, are not able to touch because of the rigidity of a long handle. At the same time, an added benefit of the layered and permeable construction is the abundant sudsing and lather of liquid body wash soaps. Loops sewn on opposite corners can be used as handles so that a person's back can be thoroughly washed with a see-sawing motion when the washcloth is used on the back. Smaller versions of the Exfoliating Washcloth can be used on the face.

Description
DIMENSIONS

Overall dimensions can vary; Optimum dimensions are from 2.5×23 inches to 24×24 inches or other dimensions as required by choice of shape.

Shape

The present invention can be made as a square, rectangle, round, concave, trapezoidal, triangle, or oval.

Construction

All of the layers are cut to the required dimensions, stacked in their appropriate layers, and then the edges of the layers are sewn together at once with a serger sewing machine or a regular sewing machine. Edges may be unbound or bound with any type of binding material. A custom decorative embroidered design or plain stitching of any design is then applied to the washcloth to help hold the layers in place. Loops are sewn on opposite corners.

FIELD OF INVENTION

The present invention relates to a bathing implement for use in tub or shower that is capable of reaching all the areas of the body, including the back and shoulders, and providing exfoliation and thorough cleansing to those areas that other implements are not able to reach.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Common bathing implements, such as a terry washcloth, a net ball, a loofah sponge, or a back brush, are not able to reach certain areas of the back and shoulders. It is highly desirable to want to scrub one's own back and feel that tingle of exhilaration when those hard to reach places are finally scrubbed. This implement can be used by everyone, including children. An added benefit is the abundant sudsing of a liquid bath soap created by the porous layers of the construction. Other single layer exfoliating washcloths do not give this added benefit.

OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

To provide a pleasant bathing experience with the added benefit of exfoliation and reduction of skin tags, and to provide an exhilarating scrubbed and tingling feeling especially in the hard to reach areas of the middle back. Those hard to reach areas are accessible with this washcloth because it is pliable and moves easily across the contours of the body when held by opposite corners and see-sawed across the back and shoulder areas. Unlike most back scrubbers, which are limited in their reach and never quite reach their mark, this invention touches every inch of those hard to reach places.

The use of this invention leaves the skin feeling soft, smooth and tingly.

The smaller version provides the same exfoliation benefits for the face and neck.

An added benefit of the layered construction is the aeration of liquid body wash soap making a greater abundance of lather while using a smaller amount of liquid soap.

Elegant in its simplicity, daily use of this invention will provide an enjoyable and beneficial bath experience and it can be laundered as often as needed. This washcloth will last well over 3-4 months with daily use and possibly even longer.

DESCRIPTION OF DRAWING

Claims

1. Common bathing implements and devices are limited in their ability to reach those inaccessible areas of the back and shoulders, and are limited in their ability to exfoliate the skin. This bathing implement provides a pleasant bathing experience with the added benefit of exfoliation and reduction of skin tags, while providing an exhilarating scrubbed and tingling feeling all over the body, and especially in the hard to reach areas of the back and upper shoulders.

2. Common bathing implements and devices, such as a long-handled back brush, a loofah sponge, a net ball, etc., are limited in their reach. A back brush is inflexible and, like sponges and net balls, cannot reach most areas of the back.

3. Because the present invention is constructed of flexible materials, it moves easily across the contours of the body, and especially the back and shoulders when held by the loops on opposite corners and “see-sawed” across all those curvy places that are hard to reach.

4. A small version of the Exfoliating Washcloth is handy for using on the face to remove makeup and deep-clean the pores.

5. The porosity of the materials allows a liquid body wash soap to produce abundant suds and lather, and thereby, use less of the soap product and save money. The porosity also allows the present invention to be rinsed thoroughly in hot water and air dried quickly for a few repeated uses.

6. The present invention can be machine washed with any detergent and bleach and can be dried in the dryer.

7. Elegant in its simplicity, daily use of the present invention will provide an enjoyable and beneficial spa-like bath experience with the benefit of exfoliation and total reach of all body parts. It can be laundered as often as needed. This washcloth will last well over 3-4 months with daily.
