Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The invention pertains to stove bases where these bases have a storage area and this storage area within the base is adapted for temporary storage of particles which are produced during the operation of the stove.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Various bases for stoves are currently known, in particular floor plates to be placed under stoves, protecting the floor under the stove from the impact of excessive, temperature. Such floor plates are typically made as a metal piece which can be reinforced with a bend or bulge along the circumference. Such bend or bulge then reinforces the edges and also prevents free movement of particles outside this floor plate, particularly ashes or hot ember falling out of the stove when feeding fuel to the stove or removing the ashes. The known solutions to the problem of particles, in particular hot ember, falling out also include separate low fenders built around the stove, i.e., also placed on the floor plate under the stove or even integrated with the floor plate. Floor plates with greater thickness than the mere thickness of the sheet metal are also known. In such cases the thickness of the floor plate is increased by the heat insulating layer, specifically in cases where increased protection of the floor against the excessive heat from the stove is required. Or in other cases, there are known stove bases with even greater thickness where the main purpose is elevation of the stove itself, for example to make stoking and/or removal of ashes easier. As for the storage of ashes from the stove, continuously produced when burning fuel in this stove, the most common devices are ashtrays built in the stove space. According to the specific design of the stove, the form and size of such ashtray are adapted in known designs including, as the case may be, its accommodation for easier removal from the stove or fireplace. For example, U.S. Pat. No. 6,006,744 describes a fireplace tray which is equipped with handles for easer handling and removal and with a roller support in the back part. This design of the aforesaid fireplace, however, does not solve the problem of handling ashes and hot ember falling out of the fireplace. Similarly, other floor plates or fenders do not solve the problem of removal of fallen-out and caught particles from the stove or fireplace other than by sweeping or vacuum-cleaning. There are some known solutions that also include an ashtray which is placed outside the main body of the stove or, more specifically, outside the body with the hearth. Such design, in some cases, is used for charcoal grills, e.g., according to U.S. Pat. No. 5,471,916 or according to US Pat. No. 5,154,159, but these designs again basically correspond with the typical stove configuration, only the ashtray is characterized by relatively independent location relative to the fire chamber, but otherwise the principle of continuous falling of ashes from the hearth directly to ashtray remains. Even in these cases there is no solution to the above-mentioned problem of catching and, at the same time, the task of easy removal of ashes and other particles falling out of the stove when stoking or when removing residual ashes from the hearth and ashtray.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The above-mentioned disadvantages are substantially resolved and creation of a device which helps protect the adjacent area from particles fallen out of the stove and also makes the storage and disposal of such fallen-out particles easier is achieved with the stove base with storage area according to the present invention where this base is designed as a box-like body or as a plate-like body on supporting elements, with the upper, mostly flat, surface adapted for placement of the stove and where this base includes a storage area and where the basic principle is that the storage area is equipped with a removable secondary ashtray or directly consists of such secondary ashtray, and there is an opening in the upper flat surface of the base, connecting the area of the upper flat surface of the base and the area of the secondary ashtray. An advantage is if this opening has an oblong shape and is placed closer to the front edge of the base. Another advantage is if this opening is equipped with a closing element, preferably designed as a slide plate or lid. Another advantage is if the area of the ashtray is sealed from the surrounding area once the ashtray is inserted. Another advantage is if there is a barrier at least along a part of the side edges and along the front edge of the upper flat surface of the base. An advantage is if the barrier is designed as removable. An advantage is if the secondary ashtray is made with width corresponding to 30 to 90% of the width of the base. A particular advantage is if in the latter designs the side walls of the barrier near the front edge of the base are bent, in ground floor view, toward the longitudinal axis of the base, namely that they end at the front edge of the base in a distance from the side walls of the base corresponding to 5 to 35% of the total length of such front edge.

This way a base is achieved which will help ensure protection of the floor under the stove from excessive heat; in low stoves it will improve the comfort in handling fuel, ashes and controlling the air inlet; it will also prevent the ashes and ember from falling onto the floor while making it easier to handle the fallen-out particles which can be easily raked from the top surface of the base or swept through the connecting opening into the secondary ashtray and later removed from it; with respect to the relatively small amount of these particles and the relatively large storage space in the base it will need to be taken out after a relatively long time. The flat top surface of the base is easy to clean, or with the removable barrier the cleaning is just as easy and the surrounding area is also better protected against the fallen-out particles.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The stove base, according to the present invention, is designed in the below-described embodiment as a box-like body 10 with the upper flat surface 11, adapted traditionally in terms of size and strength for placement of a stove 20, with a hearth 21 and stoking door 22 and equipped here with an ashtray, in this assembly identified as primary ashtray 23. The base for the stove 20 includes a storage area 12. What is important is that the storage area 12 is equipped with a removable secondary ashtray 13 and also with an opening 111 in the upper flat surface 11 of the base, connecting the area on the upper flat surface 11 of the base with the storage area 12 above the secondary ashtray 13. This opening 111 here has an oblong shape, more specifically rectangular, and is located near the front edge 112 of the base. This opening 111 here is also equipped with a sliding closing element 1110 designed as a flat slide plate. The area of the secondary ashtray 13, i.e., here the entire storage area 12, is sealed from the outside area when the secondary ashtray 13 is inserted. This is achieved by inserting a sealing rope, not depicted, along the edge of the opening in the box-like body 10 through which the secondary ashtray 13 is inserted into the base. Also, construction of a barrier 14 is shown here along the side edges 113 and the front edge 112 of the upper flat surface 11 of the base. The barrier 14 here is designed as removable, along the side edges 113. This is specifically achieved by making the barrier 14 by cutting out of sheet metal, with flat projections 141 which are inserted in the corresponding cut-out openings 110 along the side edges 113. Along the front edge 112 of the box-like body 10 the front part of the barrier 14 here is designed as a projection 1120 made on the front part of the upper flat surface 11 of the box-like body 10. Such design is shown on FIG. 3 and FIG. 4. The barrier 14 here is therefore made only along the side edges 113 and the front edge 112, and also in this version, as depicted on FIG. 4, the side edges of the barrier 14 near the front edge 112 of the base, in ground plan view, are bent toward the longitudinal axis of the base, ending at the front edge 112 of the base in a distance from the side edges of the base corresponding to 10% of the length of this entire front edge 112. In another version, however, it is possible to make the barrier 14 also only along a part of the side edges 113 and along a part of the front edge 112, as one unit where the structure of the side walls of the barrier 14 is the same as the structure of its front wall, as shown on FIG. 1 and FIG. 2. Alternatively, however, such barrier 14 can be made as a solid elevation of the said side edges 113 and the front edge 112 of the box-like body 10 and, as the case may be, also its rear edge 114, for example as elevation with the same shape as the projection 1120 whose cross-section, in lateral view, is shown on FIG. 3. The version of the design with the barrier 14 which is made, at least at the front edge 112, as a projection 1120 with continuous transition from the plane of the upper flat surface 11 of the base 10 not only prevents particles from falling off the base during the operation and cleaning of the stove but also helps with more thorough cleaning of the upper flat surface 11, so that when sweeping the residues of the particles in general or when sweeping the ember which have not gone through the opening 111 in the upper flat surface 11 of the base due to their size these residues or larger particles would be guided when moving toward the front edge 112 further from the side edges 113 of the base toward the center where it is more certain that they fall into the secondary ashtray 13 which is partially pulled out of the base for this activity, while its width can be smaller than the width of the base. Beside the design described herein where the basic element of the base is the box-like body 10, it is possible to create the base also as a plate on supporting elements, for example legs, also without envelope. The secondary ashtray 13 is then adequately suspended for sliding out under the upper surface of such base and adequately sealed. This version is not depicted here on the drawings but it is obviously understandable for a professional in the field according to the above description.

The function of the equipment, according to the described embodiment, is therefore as follows. Under the stove 20, a base is placed which ensures protection of the floor 30 under the stove 20 against excessive heat; in low stoves 20 the comfort of handling the fuel, ashes and controlling the air inlet will be improved; and also falling of ashes and ember onto the floor 30 will be prevented. The easier handling of the fallen-out particles is due to the fact that from the upper flat surface 11 of the base these particles can be easily raked or swept into the connecting opening 111 to the secondary ashtray 13 and from there later easily taken out; with respect to the relatively small amount of these particles and the relatively large storage space 12 in the base these particles need to be taken out after a relatively long time. The upper flat surface 11 of the base is easy to clean, or with the removable barrier 14 the cleaning is just as easy and the surrounding area is also better protected against the fallen-out particles, during operation with the re-installed barrier 14.

INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY

The equipment according to the present invention can be used as a base basically under any solid-fuel stove where protection of the floor, improved comfort of operating the stove and in particular improved comfort of cleaning the area under and near the stove are required.

Claims

1. Supplement pedestal with storage area, for complete stove being placed on, where this pedestal is designed as a box-like body or as a plate-like body on supporting elements, with the upper, mostly flat, surface adapted for placement of the complete stove and where this pedestal includes a storage area, where that the storage area (12) is equipped with a removable secondary ashtray (13) or directly consists of such secondary ashtray (13), and where an opening (111) is in the upper fiat surface (11) of the base, connecting the area of the upper flat surface (11) of the base and the area of the secondary ashtray (13), characterized in that the opening (111) has an oblong shape, it is placed closer to the front edge (112) of the base, is equipped with a closing element (1110), which is designed as a slide plate or lid.

2. Supplement pedestal according to claim 1, characterized in that there is a barrier (14) at least along a part of the side edges (113) and along the front edge (112) of the upper fiat surface (11) of the pedestal, where the barrier (14) is designed as, at least partly, removable.

3. Supplement pedestal according to claim 1, characterized i n that the secondary ashtray (13) is made with width corresponding to 30 to 90% of the width of the pedestal.

4. Supplement pedestal according to claim 2, characterized in that the side walls of the barrier (14) near the front edge (112) of the pedestal are bent, in ground floor view, toward the longitudinal axis of the pedestal, namely that they end at the front edge (112) of the pedestal in a distance from the side walls of the pedestal corresponding to 5 to 35% of the total length of said front edge (112).

5. Stove base according to claim 1, characterized in that the area of the secondary ashtray (13) is sealed from the surrounding area once this ashtray (13) is inserted.

6. Stove base according to claim 1, characterized i n that there is a barrier (14) at least along a part of the side edges (113) and along the front edge (112) of the upper flat surface (11) of the base.

7. Stove base according to claim 6, characterized in that the barrier (14) is designed as, at least partly, removable.

8. Stove base according to claim 1, characterized in that the secondary ashtray (13) is made with width corresponding to 30 to 90% of the width of the base.

9. Stove base according to claim 6, characterized in that the side walls of the barrier (14) near the front edge (112) of the base are bent, in ground floor view, toward the longitudinal axis of the base, namely that they end at the front edge (112) of the base in a distance from the side walls of the base corresponding to 5 to 35% of the total length of said front edge (112).
