BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention generally relates to a blanket attached to a door for protecting cold waves entering into a room, and more particularly relates to a blanket attached to a door for protecting cold waves entering into the room from space between door and door frame.

2. Description of the Related Art

Generally blankets have a relatively thin outer membrane and an insulating material sealed inside of the membrane. Such blankets are commonly used to insulate household appliances such as door, refrigerators, freezers, water heaters, and similar apparatus. Such blankets are generally attached on the door to keep the room warm. The weather is very cold in winter and cold draft enters into the room from the space in between the door and the door frame.

However the present blankets fail to provide a covering for the air coming from the space in between the door and the door frame. Therefore, there is a need of a blanket to cover the space in between the door and the door frame. Further, the blanket should have insulation from the water.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In accordance with a preferred embodiment of the present invention, a blanket attached to the door for protecting from cold waves entering into a room is provided.

An object of the present invention is to provide a blanket including a first layer attached on the door having a first cut-out for the knob of the door, a second layer attached on the first layer having a second cut-out for the knob of the door, plurality of velcros runs along the edges of the first layer for facilitating attachment to the door, a lip layer attached to edge of each side of the attachment of the first layer for covering the space between the door and the door frame and plurality of elastic bands attached to the corners of the first layer and adjacent sides of the lip layer to facilitate the second layer to hook on the corner of the door.

Another object of the invention is to provide a blanket wherein the first layer and the second layer having a third cut-out for a door window. The third cut-out enables the people to look through the door.

Another object of the invention is to provide a blanket with the length of the first layer and the second layer is 82 inches and the breadth of the first layer and the second layer is 41 inches. The thickness of the lip layer is ⅜ inches and the combine thickness of the first layer and the second layer is 2/8 inches.

These and other objects, features and advantages of the invention will become more fully apparent in the following detailed description, taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

While this technology is illustrated and described in a preferred embodiment, a blanket for covering the space in between the door and the door frame may be produced in many different configurations, forms and computer language. There is depicted in the drawings, and will herein be described in detail, as a preferred embodiment of the invention, with the understanding that the present disclosure is to be considered as an exemplification of the principles of the invention and the associated functional specifications for its construction and is not intended to limit the invention to the embodiment illustrated. Those skilled in the art will envision many other possible variations within the scope of the technology described herein.

FIG. 1 illustrates an exploded view of the blanket 100 attached on the door 102 for protecting from cold waves entering into a room. The blanket 100 includes a first layer 104, a second layer 106, plurality of velcros 108 such as 108a, 108b, 108c, 108d etc, a lip layer 110 and plurality of elastic bands 112 such as 112a, 112b, 112c and 112d. The first layer 104 attaches on the door 102 for providing a water resistant membrane and a thermal insulation membrane. The first layer 104 has a first cut-out 114 for the door knob. The first layer 104 is explained in detailed in conjunction with FIG. 3 of the present invention.

The second layer 106 is overlappingly attached on the first layer 104 for protecting from cold waves on the door 102 area. The second layer 106 has a second cut-out 116 for the door knob 102. The second layer 106 is explained in detailed in conjunction with FIG. 2 of the present invention. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the second layer 106 is attached to the first layer 104 by stitching.

The plurality of velcros 108 such as 108a, 108b and 108c runs along the edges of the first layer 104. The plurality of velcros 108 facilitates attachment of the first layer 104 to the door 102. The velcros 108 are explained in detail in conjunction with FIG. 3 of the present invention.

The lip layer 110 is attached to edge of each side of the attachment of the first layer 104 and the second layer 106. The lip layer 110 covers the space in between the door 102 and the door frame 118. The lip layer 110 protects the cold draft from entering into the room from the space between the door 102 and door frame 118. The lip layer 110 is explained in conjunction with FIG. 4 of the present invention.

The plurality of elastic bands 112 attached to the corner of the first layer 102 and the adjacent sides of the lip layer 110 to facilitate the second layer 104 to hook on the corners of the door 102. The plurality of elastic bands 112 facilitates to maintain proximity of the first layer 102 and the second layer 104 on the door 102. Further, the plurality of the elastic bands 112 facilitates in positioning the lip layer 110 for covering the space in between the door 102 and the door frame 118.

FIG. 2 illustrates a perspective view of the second layer 106 attached to the lip layer 110. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the length of the second layer is approximately 82 inches and the breadth of the second layer is approximately 41 inches. The thickness of the lip layer is approximately ⅜ inches. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention the second layer 106 is made up of cotton and lint. However, it will be readily apparent to those skilled in the art that the second layer 106 may also be created with other similar materials for protecting from cold without deviating from the scope of the present invention.

FIG. 3 illustrates a perspective view of the first layer 104 attached to the lip layer 110. The plurality of velcros 108 such as 108a, 108b, 108c, 108d, 108e and 108f are attached on the first layer 104. The plurality of velcros 108 runs on the side of the first layer 104. However, it will be readily apparent to those skilled in the art that the plurality of velcros may also be attached at various other positions without deviating from the scope of the present invention. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention the first layer 104 is made up of water resistant membrane and thermal insulation membrane such as aluminum foil. However, it will be readily apparent to those skilled in the art that other materials may also be used to create the first layer 104 without deviating from the scope of the present invention.

FIG. 4 illustrates a front view of the blanket 100 attached on the door 102. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the blanket covers the space between the door 102 and the door frame 118. The thickness of the blanket 100 is 2/8 inches.
