Description
I will explain at example of T-shirts but same worth for most another upper clothes like jackets, sweaters, suits etc . . . . T-shirts come in sizes usually from S to 2XL. Then shirts have fits—regular fit, slim fit and athletic fit. Slim fit and athletic fit can have taper—that is difference between circumstance of chest and waist of shirt. That taper is currently not marked buy any company. Only suits sometime have numbers like 48-46-42 that are not clear to understand.

I want to introduce TAPER NUMBER in form of TAPER A (where A can be any number or fraction in inches or centimeters). That number should be print at shirts in same way like sizes (xl, L, M, S) Taper number is difference in circumstance between chest of shirt and waist of shirt and for example for 4″ difference it should write

TAPER 4 or TAP 4 or T 4

In my opinion it far clearer describe shirts, sweaters etc then expression like “slim fit” etc. This would be especially helpful for buying at Internet.

Picture 1 is graphics explanation. (Taper A=circumstance of chest−circumstance of waist)

For women upper garment (applicable for man upper garment to if need) I would like to introduce additional number for bottom of clothes. It would be difference between chest circumstance and bottom circumstance of shirt. It can be expressed like BOTTOM B (where B can be any number or fraction in inches or centimeters). It can be written for example of 2″ difference

BOTTOM 2 or BOT 2 or B 2

Picture 2 is graphic explanation (Bottom B=circumstance of chest−circumstance of shirt bottom)

Taper number and Bottom number can be combined in form

TB—4-2 or similar combination

Or Bottom number can be expressed like difference between circumstance of waist (for difference of chest) of shirt and bottom of shirt.

It is possible express taper of trousers legs like difference of circumstance of tights and bottom of legs. It is more precise then say, flat, tapered or flared. Picture 3. (Trouser taper=circumstance of tight−circumstance of bottom of leg)

Purpose of this numbers is to express shirt fit in more accurate way yet more intuitive then just express circumstance in old fashion way chest circumstance—waist circumstance—etc.
